So I'm not the only one who has to pay "doggy tax" whenever I eat anything! Looks like some exciting new goodies.
Electrickary goes right over my head. Love watching and listening to you. Be nice to get your Crimbo lights up. I remember last year when you helped your neighbour 💚 Those Gregg's, vegan not sausage rolls are the mutts
Gosh Beth, I would be in a spin with all the wiring and components, well done you. Thanks for the ride and take care.
Love a good road trip, as Bertie obviously did. He looked very content riding in the front seat! ❤️🐾 Glad you are getting the parts you need and it sounds like a good plan to get the electrical stuff going. Can’t wait to see the mast up. I imagine that will be a huge morale booster for you…and with lights on it for Christmas! 🎄 Admittedly I don’t know anything about electrical with the exception of watching some Narrowboat Vlogs doing similar setups. But I find that I am beginning to recognize some items and terms used in setups. Happy for you Beth. Take care and thanks for sharing. 🙏😊🤗🐾 Kathy
Lots of work to come good luck Beth it's coming together nicely
looking forward to the mast going up; all very exciting progress. Cheers.
Interesting to hear your plans and all that goes into each phase. It's amazing!
Coincidentally I've just collected a victron isolation transformer today for a friend's new boat. No idea how to fit it, so leaving that to the professionals! Shocked how heavy it is! But cant argue with the benefits of having one. Saving for one myself! Look forward to seeing you install your system. Have yourself a great weekend.
Yes, they contain some pretty heavy coils!
Hello Beth, glad to see you have the electricity set up underway. I would love to be able to offer advise, but I work in an Architects office and make cakes as a hobby, probably not a lot of use to you ha ha. Best wishes Christine x
Cakes are better than advice! 😁
@@TillerQueen ha ha true!
That was a fun drive and great information load from you! Question... Can you diagram out how the C blocks and cabling go through the V to the mast to raise and lower it? I think I know but I'm just a silly balloonist with aspirations at knowing what is what on a boat. Like everyone.. I cant wait to see the raising of the mast! Whats in a vegan sausage roll. Sounds interesting. Cheers! Thank you!!!!!!
Yes, I'll show exactly how the lifting gear works! I've almost got it all in place and hope to lift the mast soon!
A vegan sausage roll contains vegan sausage. 😁
@@TillerQueen 🤣 How does it taste... the sausage roll not the lifting gear🤣😂🤣. One thing I miss is a real sausage. Just not the same texture over here. Cant wait to see it all come together. Hope you are doing better!
@@rareairvideos3070 Actually tastes amazing! There also are some vegan sausages by Richmond which are amazing too!
I can't recall if you have a bow thruster on the barge I had electric on my old boat but the one you sailed is hydraulic which means no limit on the usage. I found the electric one drained the battery in minutes but it was just a single 100AH
I don't have a bow-thruster, no. We were going to fit one but sort of ran out of time and money back in the summer. I may fit one in the future but I'm going to try to do without!
Hi Beth. What size batteries did you buy and did you go lithium? Iv converted a transit long wheel base to a camper and installed gas 230 volt and 12volt with solar electric hookup and charging system. The leisure battery is only a 200ha and if very sunny does well but the fridge sucks the life out of it. Im going to commission a new wide beam sail away early next year so I’ve follow your build with great interest. Very impressed by your knowledge which I appreciate is a mine field of options out there! Regards Brian.
Hi Brian. I went for lead acid batteries because I actually spend a lot of time on shore power but lithium would be a better option if I was much more off-grid. They're a lot more expensive and I'm designing my system to run at most a couple of weeks without plugging into shore power, really. Your wide-beam might benefit from lithium if you're more off-grid and it sounds a really interesting project.
Just curious, did you consider synthetic like Amstel or Dynema for your lines? I'm sure quality galvanized cable would be cheaper. The synthetic lines would be a bit easier on your gear but much more prone to chafe.
I did look at that but I wasn't entirely sure so just fell back on galvanised steel rope.
What about a wind turbine Beth?
I'd love one although they can be a bit noisy and we're not allowed them here for planning reasons. Ideally you'd have a mast on land and then run the cable to the boat.
@@TillerQueen 👍I understand thank you, have a great Christmas 🤶
