Yzma was an amazing villain tbh. She's one of the only ones who outright wanted murder. Her ambitions weren't in regards to beauty once they scrapped Kingdom Of The Sun, in the final version of the movie she wants absolute power. Crazier, even, that she actually won for a brief moment.
Omg that's probably why Yzma was scamming old people into buying fake youth potions in Kronk's New Groove. I always thought that was a weird subplot but I guess the writers got it from this old plot line from Kingdom of the Sun
I actually thought about her succeeding in her endeavor and becoming immortal, ultimately taking residence in the Plane of the "Other Side" which would make her Facilier's patron, rather than a version of him. She actually did not die in the end of her movie and still has the chance to complete her ambition off screen.
If Disney ever remakes this they had better include this fabulous Vegas routine that never was in the film, just think of real ancient ruins in a Vegas casino and Yzma would be in her element , but still use Eartha Kitts voice though
From what I've heard the entirety of Kingdom of the Sun's dialogue was recorded before they abandoned it. So they could very much release something animated to that.
Yzma being a witch wanting to destroy the sun by making a pact with Supai for a bid at immortality is one HELL of a villain motivation! It kind of bums me out that they cut this song and made Yzma more comedic (I mean, as comedic as you can make a regicidal old lady chemist, but she’s no longer a regicidal psychopathic witch). Don’t get me wrong, I still love the Emperor’s New Groove, but this would’ve been a really interesting concept. This version of her really really reminds me of Shadow Weaver from the newer She-Ra series too. I hope they do something with the original concepts, but unfortunately they probably never well and it will just be dead forever.

For me, it was the spirits from Fantasia's, "Night on Bald Mountain." It was my absolute favorite film as a child, but I would fast forward through that one song, because it was terrifying.
Just a thought: With so many discarted concepts from "Kingdom of the Sun" (one of them being this amazing song) before turning into "Emperor's new groove", they could have taken some of the best ones to recycle them into an epic yet funny sequel in wich Yzma tries to block the sun while Kuzco finds his doppleganger and later finds love. And yet we got "Kronk's new groove". Funny movie, but not good. Good jokes, but it just feels like the pilot to a failed TV show. Nothing is more tragic in film (specially in animation) as wasted potential.

My only question is if Disney origionally had Yzma "snuffing out the light" and kuzco finding love, how was kuzco origionally supposed to Stop her? She was looking for eternal youth, that had nothing to do with him. Yeah I get that she’s evil and all, but what was kuzco really using the sun for anyway?
She was going to have him sacrificed after turning him into a llama, I think, as part of the deal she made with Supai to gain immortality. She also found out about Pacha and Kuzco's (Manco) switcheroo and threatened to tell if he didn't do what she says.
I wish kingdom of the sun was finished the movie would have been epic I hope Disney does a revival of the movie it would be awesome and the movie could take place before the events of the emperors new groove as in emperor manco could be kuzcos father and the llama herder could be young pacha and yzma could be around her 70s and Mina could be kuzcos mother and nina could be young chicha and instead of yzma turned into dust she she would be more wrinkled and uglier aka her previous state and hucua would turn into an ornament by viracocha as punishment for working with supai it begin in a flashback the film will start where kuzco is nervous about the sun festvial and pacha helps him by telling kuzco a story about how he and his deceased father first met and became friends and how pacha met chicha and how they save the sun festival from the evil supai and yzma of manco never suspected that it was yzma she'll just lie the whole thing and say it was hucuas fault and then changes her plans on becoming young to becoming empress what do you think ?

I think this was from a WAY early draft. Before production took the turn it did.
In the original draft she had to kill kuzco inorder to make a pact to gain immortality, w Kuzco being the “light”
