Thanks for watching guys!
This thing was wild.
ThatDudeinBlue I totally agree about everyone owning atleast one old car, for instance Im 18 and just recently bought a 68 mustang and I love it
ThatDudeinBlue like the new intro
ThatDudeinBlue I don't think you ever stopped smiling during this review haha. so mad.
Love these things. Another cool car to review if you could find one would be a Crosley Hotshot.
ThatDudeinBlue yo my buddy has one of these that I'm gonna help him restore still haven't gotten to starting it haha such a nice car!
This is the best use of air ride! It suits a build like this

did anyone notice that beetle at 3:16? lol
Is it a '64?
not sure, i don't really know about classics
That beetle that drove by is a 66', you can tell by the turn signals...since it has the same headlights and taillights as the 66' and below beetles. The 64' is considered the best year by many VW enthusiasts. The only reason a 67' is a good year, is because it was a one year car, the only year they had that style, so the rarity makes it good, besides that it's nothing special. That may just be my opinion since I own a 64', but I'd rather have a link pin VW over ball joint any day.
Juice Box God I said the 64' is considered best by many enthusiasts, not by everyone. Also, it only costs a few bucks to convert a 6v Beetle to 12v... I've done it many times. Don't say I don't know what I'm talking about, you thought the beetle in the video was a 68+...it's definitely not.
I guess it's to each their own though, different people prefer different years of the beetle. Like me, I'd rather have the small window of the 64' than the later models. I also prefer link pin over ball joint, but that's just what I like.
Not trying to start shit... since us VW people are usually pretty friendly. I too love the 67', but I'd rather have an older year.
Air rides on old cars look so much better
This is one of your best reviews, it's great when people absorb the 'old car' lifestyle
Mr BW I'm 16 and I have a 1970 datsun
WavyAbe when i was 16 i dailyed my 64 ford fairlane and worked 40hrs a week to fix it 24/7. haha
Both of my vehicles are more than twice as old as I am. They're typically not as reliable, but you can actually work on them yourself, which is a huge advantage to me. And there's nothing like driving an old car, you get that real mechanical connection. Btw, I'm 17 with a 1980 300d benz and a 1970 GMC k15 that I'm restoring.
the best part about having a slow car for me is having your foot into it all the time
Yeah I miss that with my miata. Now if I do that I'll be in jail
i went from a 89 civic with dpfi to an 99 accord big difference in power when i would drive the 89 on the interstate id have to have it wide open just to keep 80 miles an hour now i dnt even need to use a 1/4 and my gas mileage went up big time
You have a Mazdaspeed6? That car is awesome man
Yeah man they're plenty fun
He should clearcoat over the rust so it doesn't keep eating it, but other than that, it's good.
this review honestly put the biggest smile on my face. you can never be mad driving a classic air-cooled vw.
Awesome love how you still review the little guys. I live around LA and you see a those and old datsuns around alot. That car captures the Los Angeles spirit. I drive a 1966 mustang and it gets attention pretty well.
That build is honestly perfect, wouldnt change a thing! Except maybe that door thing, but everything else is just character!
You probably wouldn't even notice it hasn't got power steering with that HUGE steering wheel hah. Awesome car! 😁
You don’t need power steering in these. Large steering wheel and he engine is in back.
Your videos have the most professional high quality look to them. You can tell that they arent rushed and effort is put into them. Keep up the good work!
every one needs to own a car from the 60/70s and everyone needs a car from the 90s
subie skyline34 what about 80s? it had the best cars and engines
Kanggoo the 80s was a bad time before because they had less power because of gas prices and emissions
subie skyline34 but the years you said were the golden years but also some of the 50
WavyAbe I like 50s cars but they are to pricey and big
subie skyline34 got a 1966 plymouth belvedere fully restored and 1994 honda accord haha
definitely my favorite review ever! you can tell you had a blast making it
Really love the older car reviews. I love seeing the character and hearing the story, definitely would be happy to see more of these, David!
Oh, these guys make much more power with boost, I've seen the 1300cc make 200 with about 15-20 pounds of boost. I've got a '79 Super, so I really enjoyed this video!
This is really a return to what made your content unique in my eyes, good work!
Awesome video man congrats on 600k hitting 5k myself soon :D
I've had my 1974 Ghia since 1994 and it's a daily driver. It is excellent on snow and ice. 👍👍
I've been waiting so long for you to review an aircooled vw! Super stoked!
It's so cool seeing you drive one of my favorite cars on one of my favorite stretch's of road. I love cruising PCH.
Love the old VW’s they don’t need much to look sweet, just cool rims(I like the stock dog dishes on this)and get them laying on the pan and your styling!! I had a type 3(squareback) this same faded light blue, lowered static it was a blast! Thanks for the old school flavor👍🏿
Omg Thats my buddy Scotts car lol! I knew i recognized that car from somewhere!!! (School)
Thank you for this video brah...the world needs this 🙏🤙🤙🤙
I don't know why but being on PCH near Huntington Beach, The Ghia, and the song picked. one of your best intro set ups yet
my aunt had one of these back in the day and my dad and a buddy of him just chopped the whole body work of and made it into a "buggy" he still tells me the story to this day, i think he really misses that thing
this is the first time I have ever heard of this car but I'm already in love with it
This is what i class as a fun car. Wasn't over the top expensive, not fast, doesn't handle or break. But it make's up for in character and makes you smile, plus little old carby motor's sound awesome. That is what make's automotive fun.
I saw this car in person at Big Bear over a year ago, he parked next to me. Good Dude!
I just purchased a 1971 Karman Ghia with a brand new motor new tires new paint…..!
It is in fantastic shape….! I’m going to use it as my every day driver…….🎶
I love my 64' Ghia everywhere you go its nothing but smiles :)
I had a buddy buy a ratty Ghia similar to this. It had so much rust, we gave it the nickname DiarGhia
by far your best edit at the beginning
We had some Ford Fairmont Ghia's here in australia, were a luxury version of the Ford Falcon's we got here also. Nice video as always David! Love your content man
this car reminds me of a 78 Toyota pickup I had. it was so rotted out there was no floor the door skins would flap in the wind and the frame was rotted out. sat in a field for a long time. I put an exhaust stack with a tractor flap on it. it was so loud but so slow. the manual said the 20r put 90 hp. it was so fun to drive. my plan was to make a frame for it and bag it but had to sell it.. this car reminds me so much of it
It makes me so happy that you review this because i've been around slammed Volkswagens my whole life and i've been a fan of yours since you had like 140k subscribers. I still want you to review my bagged 62 bug with an sti swap
Nice paint and stance. In my eyes its perfect!
By FAR my favorite car review!!!
That license plate though!! 🙌🔥 great review David I fucking love that build. Serious character! Good for that dude keeping it
I had one in the winter in Canada. I never had that smile on my face. And "go please" is a true owners saying
FINALLY I get notified of your new videos! Been a while since YT send this notification my way.
Awesome video man.
The grenade shifter is amazing.
Dude i love your channel! Keep it up!
I have a 67 bus and it's just endless smiles all day
that sanchos tacos cup in the cupholder basket 👍🏻best place in huntington hands down😎
i have a 70 vw bug its by far everyones favorite car and i seen on his ifunny he was meeting up with you thats so cool
At 3:15 I like that you included the beetle!
Love this review now I want to put Airbags in my 64 KG
Nice shot with the beetle passing by!
Yes! Finally an air cooled VW. Good review David
My son and I are working on a 69 Ghia that we saved from the crusher. Hope to see you on the road 👍
Love it! I have a 73 bug, it's slammed. So fun to drive!
Yeah dude, I own a slammed bug. There are videos on my channel. Love dubs
love this ghia! wierd this video only has 73k views since january
Finally! some old VW love, maybe you could review fast old bugs as well. They're kind of like porsches, but scarier and much more hilarious to hoon around.
i saw one with an ez36 in the back with a precision 5858 pushing 500whp on stock internals (i assume on e98 and nitrous) at santa pod dragway
now that's what i call a 10 second car
I’m not really one for bags, but I am one more old, bagged cars like F-100’s and Bel Air’s, and holy hell this Karmann Ghia is beautiful when completely slammed
always loved ghias
omg I love it! I've yet to see a Karmann Ghia in person.
Cool to see a cool classic vw on your page 👌🏼👌🏼
There’s so much more to the Ghia. Great looking car
Hahaha. This is EXACTLY what it's like driving a KG! Spot on. Hope I see this little rod on my KG drives in bay area.
You look so happy in that car, thats what is the point of old and slow cars. I wish i had a beetle
It's officially faster than his girlfriends car lol
Blank spots at the end. nice one, David.
Here in my Area is one. But the one in the Video is so much cooler with the rust
I get a little roadkill vibe from this, thats pretty cool.
I have been waiting for this video! yaaaas
The pedals remind me of a reverse Murcialago. The pedals are off to the left a bit (well the seat is pointed towards the left because of the transmission)
I love those karmann ghias...theyre beautiful cars...i want one
love that you went to my favorite beach
I used to download music off your intros, now I already have these songs downloaded :D
Yo Dave! Loved this review. I personally think you'll make a killing only reviewing odd ball rides like this one. Caracter, think alot of people value this. Here's hoping more of these come your way!
Cool Ghia. Never seen anything like this. I like this car and probably I might get one when I'm 20 or something.
This car goes to my school! So sick it was featured on David's channel.
The 65 ghia I own has a nitrous sniffing 2386cc motor it is a heavy 1500 lbs and is a giant killer!!
if you ever come out to Illinois out by Chicago you can drive our 66 for Galaxie 500! everyone loves a good V8
I love aircooled vw's and I agree the pedal assembly is a little close together but you should really review a VW bus if you could!
Cool fun review!
Omg there is one of those sitting behind my neighbors back yard and I saw it for the first time today and then this video came out I guess I need to buy it
it's cool seeing you drive around where I live, that tripped me out when i realized you were at Huntington Beach xD
Nice Review Man!
I test drove a Jetta GLI a few weeks ago and experienced the same "Pedals to the right" thing.
No freaking way this car is so cool and so unique that there really is nothing like these car's in the whole entire world .
The reason for the clock is that when it comes to old cars basically EVERYTHING was an option and beleive it or not a tachometer was a "luxury" back in the day and some people felt they could live without next time ur at a car show look at the older dashes and sometimes you'll even see what is supposed to be a gauge but has a factory block off plate on it
i love how the shift knob is a german wwII grenadesque
You should drive one in texas, Its fun looking over at a red light and seeing the wheel well of the truck next to you. Fun! not dangerous at all!
my dad has a 1994 Mitsubishi Champ as a daily that he bought in 1997 and it drives pretty much ok still for today
Did yall see that old beetle that passed by? 😂
awesome vid...they were converted from right hand drive and that's why the pedals and shift pattern is peculiar
Matthew Barnette not true at all
My mistake...That's what I was told by a bug enthusiast back in 96. Perhaps my memory is a bit foggy.
Oh well thanks for the update
Same every time I fuel up my 1970 Baja I always get stopped and talked too about story's
One of my college Profs has a clean green Karmann Ghia. Some knuckleheads rent Lambos, Maseratis , and Ferraris but I walked around the Volkswagen more.
I learned how to drive manual on one of these!
I want one of these so dam badly
The whole slow vehicle thing is true. I have a Honda Ruckus that I did a bunch of work to (stock 49cc motor, but rebuilt) and it looks badass, but slow as a turtle. But I've never had anything get so many looks and thumbs up before
lololol the gti lookin out for his elders. i love it
Definitely like the barn find petina
How could you not mention the hand grenade shift knob!! Loving this car
I think the was a Ghia speed shop in the San Fernando Valley back in the day maybe its still there they made these go fast lol
Keep up good work!
