Thanks for the video, it’s exactly what I needed to hear! I have a question - how would you increase your gravitas when the project team constantly changes? I work in a sort of internal agency, and gravitas is the biggest hurdle we constantly face since stakeholders are always unfamiliar.
It's a long-term development plan. You should start with measuring design impact and articulating the value in specific business and user outcomes - you just need to reflect and start picking up the details and also doing a bit of work to figure out what matters to make your design work be grounded in evidence and measures
You think grounding the design decisions to the stakeholder’s KPIs should be enough? Many times I feel like what the stakeholders actually want is to feel like they are responsible for the design decisions and not to just receive good design.
if you want to be a true leader, you should build a company and infuse it with your values and thinking ... otherwise you will just fit in an existing culture, designed by someone else ;)
