For those of us lucky enough to grow up in an era when Steve Winwood and Eric Clapton were up and coming gods, how wonderful it is to see their actual performances on CZcams as opposed to soundtracks on the radio.
@@RubenSaenzdeViteri Steve Winwood wrote and performed the song - I dont know what guitar riff you are referring to. Winwood and Mason were in Traffic, as you probably know, and performed this live , recorded on Welcome the Canteen. It ws great to listen to Mason on guitar with Stevie freed up to play keyboards

Yeah, the third drummer you blanked out on is the great Kenney Young, from the fabulous Small Faces, then Faces, then the Who, etc. Great live performance and recording of a great song. Thanks Bob R for sharing.

You look at the musicians on this video and they are concentrating really hard because they are playing one of the greatest rock and roll songs of all time. And they know it.
Sometimes an incredible performance like this happens... where a song starts out, and it just gains incredible momentum, with each musician just dialing it up a notch, and another notch.. the trust, and musical greatness from each musician felt toward the others feeds upon itself, and the result is a very rare, and totally great performance. My wife and I were lucky enough to meet him and band back stage after concert!! Because my wife's brother was a roadie for him!! Fantastic!!! Still have the tickets and signed glossy of him!
l`m 63 Years old and this music is very fantastic. They are the greatest, Winwood, Glapton, Jack Bruce, Keith Emerson, Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones, David Bowie, Alvin Lee etc.
I went to aWinwood concert back in the 90s with a friend who had tickets and asked my wife and I to go. I was not a fanatic Winwood fan at the time but was familiar with some of his work. Started his concert and with every new song he played I couldn’t believe the string of hits this guy had. Of course he had some Spencer Davis and Traffic rep to draw from, but he played for three hours and every single song was like major hits id heard before. Just incredible
Great live version of one of Rock N' Roll"s greatest songs. Winwood is incredible & I wonder if Ray Cooper dances in his sleep. First rate thanks UTUBE!

Actually given how funky Kenny Jones' grooves and beats with the Faces were, I think he probably really dug the groove in this performance or was the impetus behind it.
Saw Clapton and Winwood tour together years ago in Chicago. The buzz was that were always great friends, especially after the already guitar-God Clapton sought out Winwood to play wiith because he thought Windwood was the best white soul singer. Right up there with Eric Burdon though an immensely different sound. Wow, what great talent in this line-up. that bongo player "if he felt any better it would be a sin" is already a sin. To have that much playing such a great song in such a great line-up. In Chicago, Clapton and Winwood brought out the great Buddy Guy for the last two encore songs and man you could tell how much they loved playing with this other legend who kicked ass.
Winwood, Clapton, Fairweather Low, Wyman, Watts, Cooper -what a line-up!
Incredible
Can you not see Kenny Jones?
@@STEVO-hn5su probably camera didn't show Kenny, he's ripping the hit hat off
