@@jammygitt we came close with poch and it didn’t work. We tried going the win now approach after and it had us worse off. Let’s rebuild a project again and see how far we get this time. It’s the only method that brought us very close to winning. Btw you do realise we have a new stadium and we are still paying it off? Once we pay it off spurs will dominate the EPL. We’re among the rare few clubs in England that have built a financially sound club.
@@jammygitt you cannot compare us now to 23 years ago! We were shocking. Literally the only decent player we had was Campbell, we've stepped up several times during that since then, first with Jol, then 'Arry, and Poch, but without managing to get over the line unfortunately. And also you have to look at other clubs of similar levels during that time. Villa, Newcastle and Everton have all had terrible times since levy took over. Unless we get bought by a Petrostate I don't know what else we can do better than now

If Werner isn't signed, then we are looking at having only 4 first team quality forwards at the club- Son, Richy, Johnson, Kulusevski (and you could argue Kulusevski needs to move into midfield in Ange's system, which would give us only 3). So if Werner isn't re-signed, we have to sign 2 forwards, a LW and a striker. I am interested to see where Ange sees Sonny fitting in next season. I think Richarlison and Johnson should be almost nailed on as both have shown they fit the system and give us what we need, plus Johnson is only going to keep improving. Ultimately, the best option is probably spending big on a LW, since Son can do a job at LW and striker so he covers both spots.
Son is a better winger than a striker, we need an AF, two infact, Rico is not that great of a striker either. I am not sure about Werner, his biggest value is that he is cheap and he is fast, to me he is not better than Johnson and Johnson is not amazing.
Ideally we need 2 sets of 11 players of good quality, I can only find 7 players that are good in our club. We won’t win if keep just buy prospects and cheap bargain, so it will be the same story of Tottenham in a new circle, Levy won’t pay and wont win.
@@zhilong Yes and no. Son is best when he cuts inside from the wing but that's not the winger that Ange wants. Wingers in Ange's current system hug the line, beat their man, and then cross, at least that's what he wants from them. If Sonny has to play LW on this team then we should sell him while he still has value in the market. If he stays as a striker, I don't have much problem with a 16G+9A striker. Sonny playing CF is the least of our problems. The drop-off of Madders and the hole in our defense is a bigger issue.
Statistics are being bandied about regarding his assists and whatnot but the bottom line is that he is simply not good enough. If he was, other clubs would be in for him. We have to learn our lesson regarding average players and high salaries. If we do sign him, it would be a clear statement of non-intent from the club.

I think for 15m, he would be a great squad player to have. If he is happy as a squad player that could work. Spurs certainly need a larger and higher quality squad.
Werner has to be signed permanently. He has just too well not sign at that reported fee of 15-17m. Keep in mind, Gil will be shown the door and Perisic also have left the club. With Solomon, Sonny, Johnson, it should be enough to rotate and use large portion of the transfer money on other positions such as a striker, backup fullback, defender and number 6.

Werner is a massive drop off in talent and cannot be relied upon when we need him the most. I’m not asking for Vini jr I’m asking to have ambition. I like Werner, he seems to have good movement and ability on the ball, which can cause defenses problems. As mentioned, its his crossing and in particular his finishing, which suggest he is not good enough. A real shame cos he seems like such a nice guy.
The left back situation is as funny as it is frustrating. Cant we recall Reguilon? No idea what the terms of his loan are? Such a shame for Davies, he has been a great player for spurs, be it in the first team or as a squad player.
We absolutely need a recognised 20+ goal per season striker/forward. Richarlison are simply not good enough, goodness knows how many chances he misses every time he plays, the occasional wonder goal is not good enough. We cannot expect success with only Son as a top class finisher up front.
Giminez has already missed 23 big chances. He needs a lot of chances to score goals

Son is not good enough as a forward. Doesn’t hold up the ball well and too lightweight. He’s better on the wing. His pace seems to have dried up too and if we sold him I wouldn’t be upset.
