Thank you guys so much for the great video! It's true...the Sir Reel depends very much on the amp you're using it with. Round-sounding high headroom amps go from slight compression to almost-fuzz. Trebly amps get a kick in the nuts (the Marshall example). It tends to work great in front of British amp types. The AYCB is much more adaptable to whatever amp you're using and can be whatever you need it to be (clean, gain or lead boost).
That Sir Reel captured my interest. It did not sound like JAFOP.. It would be great in a comparison so I could hear how different it is.
I watched it all! lol I love this series gets ya hearing pedals you might not of thought about and its worked in this particular one as well cos sir reel might end up on my board sounds beut mate
Pedal builders won't stop until there's 1 Million Overdrive pedals!
I can't believe they are still coming out weekly! How many times can you re invent the wheel!? It's impressive and exhausting at the same time!
yeah I really don’t understand who is buying these, honestly most people can make do with $30 Amazon/Sweetwater pedals, ts clone is all you should need anyways lol
the boys .......love you too another kick arse show keep up the good work guys,,, be well lee and peat
The Scarlet Tunic is by far my favorite pedal I’ve ever owned. I use it as a preamp and it’s electrifying.
Good one, gents. Thank you. Have a wonderful day.
I'm so happy to see Frank from FFX get some major exposure on this channel. He makes killer pedals and deserves to have his pedals on more boards.
You're too kind! We need to work on getting you that blue pedal ;-)
@@ffxpedals blue with the gold knob looks so killer dude!
@andertons Just started rewatching these, to answer your question Lee; These numbers 1987, 1959, 2203, 2204 etc. was the lot numbers that the british distribution company Rose-Morris gave Marshall products in their catalog. Marshall made a 15 year deal with that company in 1965.
So in reality these numbers have nothing to do with what year the amp was designed.
1987 - Any Marshall Lead circuit (50w, non-MV)
1986 - Any Marshall Bass circuit (50w, non-MV)
1959 - Any Marshall Super Lead circuit (100w, non-MV)
1992 - Any Marshall Super Bass circuit (100w, non-MV)
1963 - Any Marshall Super PA circuit (50w, non-MV)
1968 - Any Marshall Super PA circuit (100w, non-MV)
2204 - Any Marshall Master Model circuit (50w, MV)
2203 - Any Marshall Master Model circuit (100w, MV )
However, the JCM800 name/number came from Jim Marshalls license plate number and markes the end of the Rose-Morris contract.
Love Tales From The Pedal Cabinet!!
The Thorpy is delicious when dialed in , thanks for another great vid
I think Richie Blackmore had a reel to reel on stage at one time. Ring any bells.. ?
Yes, an AIWA TP-1011...whatever that was 🤔
9:19 I'm just chillin here workin on a guitar and Pete makes me literally laugh out loud 🤣
That sir reel pedal sounds Amazing.
A pink burst epi would be nice!
Wouldn’t be ready to pay Gibson money for one. Make it happen Andertons!
Really, really need to do a pink Gibson! Maybe sunburst fading to cherry red?
The Z-Vex Nanohead does that loss of gain (and volume) when you do anything with the bright/dark switching,.
El Hombre 😍
I assume the gain drop in the Scarlet Tunic is because in the bright setting it's acting almost like a treble boost pushing the high frequencies so much they limit in the front end of the amp, so you take some of that away and the gain drops significantly
I bet that a gold top les paul oversprayed in pink would glow like Chernobyl on a clear winter's night.
Don’t really think you did the El Hombre justice here. None of it sounded anything like Billy Gibbons to be honest, however, when dialled in better it’s almost indiscernible from early ZZTop tones. I’ve strived for this tone for years, but nothing came as close as the El Hombre.
Does much more besides, as your review clearly demonstrates.
Yes, have seen some very good demos of that pedal. Expensive, but might be worthwhile long term. So what are your favourite pedal settings? Presumably that will vary somewhat, dependant on guitar/amp settings.
19:03 in Mexico, we call them "brinca charcos." loosely translates to jumping over puddles
In America, not as often any more, but "highwaters"
Lol, we know The Captain and tech don't fit, but seeing his confusion with a pedal is priceless.
F isn't a letter we in germany pronounce diffrent. But X is it kinda sounds like icks I think thats how u can describe it
Hi Pete you legend of guitaring ability , Here's an off the cuff question for you - In your opinion, if you were looking to buy a P90 sound guitar- have you any recommendations for options ??? Thank you Sir Pete
For on a budget, I would go epiphone Les Paul junior or special
The Orange Two Stroke (r) pedal is similar to the Sir Reel, but different... would be cool for you gents to check it out... much love to Andertons!
The Orange Two Stroke is not really like the Sir Reel as it is a boost with a parametric equalizer. Agree that it is a great unique pedal. Lee and Pete would love it.
@@pieve5516 Pet; agree with me that “similar, but different…” is the same as “not really like” all the while being unique?
And here I am
Beato!
... randomly just came in on you guys talking about sensitivity and depth and for a moment thought you were talking about condoms? 🤣
Where can we find the Jeff Beck and Johnny Depp thing ?
Is Billy Gibbons kind of the Bill Murray of guitar? Lately it feels like he's having the same sort of unexplained resurgence of popularity just for existing.
Don't know if I'd call it "unexplained" the band still tours relentlessly, and tonally he was huge in the 70's and 80's. They brought up Blackmore in this video as well and he hasn't been relevant since the 80's.
Blimey-o-riley and amen brother those Rick Beato shorts are mighty tedious
Pete's starting to look like Alan Carr!
6/10 not enough Beato.
I'd love to watch beato beat off these pair....... The percussive sound of skull would ring out with perfect pitch
Where. Is. The. Pedal pawn. Video.
