The “talking” helps me understand the reaction of the “guys in the room”. I think they are able to hear tone better in person than I can on my iPhone. It helps guide me through the comparison. Also, they’re funny chaps. That stands for something, no?
I want to hear the amp and decide for myself, not have a salesman tell me if I should like it

I like the talking! And have the MK2 and Gen 3. I have to say I prefer the sound of MK 2 and the USB C on Gen 3. Also, think it’s weird there isn’t a tuner on the iOS app or Tone Studio software for Gen 3. Not that I found at least.

I see why people don't like the talking in the videos on this channel but they still get to the point of tones. Honestly hearing Lee and Pete just talking about the katana itself is still good for this channel. Usually The normal channel, The Chads ramble on and on. but I like how it's cut to just Pete and Lee taking about the gear specifically and how straight to the point it is.

First of all the video was fine and straight to point, pay no attention to the winning.
On one hand I am tempted to buy this as I liked that they improved the IR section even though unfortunately there is still no IR loader which is ridiculous.
The thing that puts me off is that there is still no stereo out and the rec out mutts the speaker or does not give you the option to engage it.
I am certainly not bringing along two amps to have stereo imaging on stage. I could as well bring my old katana and plug a Gt1000 into the power amp. I could also send a mono signal to the amp for monitoring and a stereo signal to the P.A. with eq to cater to each type of output and of course I can load my own IR.
I really like playing through the katana but I was expecting more in a third version. As for the newer being fuller seems to be a question of eq.

Still prefer the sound of the MKII.
What speaker is in the mk3? Talking is okay, if it is information-rich and on point. 👍
Totally groovy with the talking but I think the differences in the tone between the amps are limited at best and any difference could be dialed in to make them some the exact same...no need to spend your money on this newest model.
So I really like the sound of the Katana mkii with the Celestion G12H but now I'm not sure if it's a new speaker in the Gen3 or if it's just some EQ settings that's differs mkii from gen3.. Do you hear that 1080i vs 1080p difference between mkii and gen3 or just some EQ difference? I'm trying to figure out if I'm gonna buy the mkii or gen3 and change the speaker to a Celestion one..
How come I can't find any comps with the gen 3 artist? Are they out yet or perhaps it's in the works ?
Please use the 100s.... They're better and a good average between 50 and artist.

I have the boss kat mk2 100 head , can i use wah pedal without daft patches .i have it plugged into the 50 ex , sounds ok (im in scottish highlands where internet is limited)

What I wonder is why you always use the Katana 50 when comparing or even demonstrating. The 50 always sounds boxier than it's bigger siblings. Use one of the bigger models once in a while. Or use the heads in the same cab for a real comparison of the actual modelling tech in the amp.
I have MK1, MK2, but I want more quality sounds. Gen 3 sounds great. But I think I will end with tube amp.
I have no problem with talking, if is just a little bit, why not.

The most overhyped amp ever. Is it a good amp, yes. Is it the greatest ever like it's made out to be, hell no. In terms of just sound a vox valvetronix pisses all over the Katana.
Who gives a sh#t about the talking for gods sake.
They sold this channel as a being all playing no talking
