    According to NOCO, if you want to run a repair cycle, you are supposed to disconnect the battery from the vehicle and run it on the battery by itself. The unit does not detect an AGM battery by itself. It is up to you to determine if the battery is an AGM and you must select it on the face of the NOCO Genius.

    There is one fine I would like to know about this charger. You could take a really discharge battery and an old style charger from the 60s or 70s and charge it. You can take one a day smart chargers and if the battery is below a certain charge. It will kick out and not even bring the battery up. Will this charger bring up a really low battery say that is down to six or 7 V. And can take my dad‘s old charger from the early 60s and bring up a battery that is down to three or 4 V if the battery is any good to begin with.

    Thank you for this video. I've got an Autolite Sta-Ful reproduction battery from 2014 this has an Axion Power Turbo Boost stamp on the bottom. I think the battery is an AGM battery (but I'm not 100% sure).
    In the Genius 10 manual, there's a caution about using repair mode and it says to only use repair mode with lead-acid batteries.
    Is an AGM battery considered a lead-acid battery? I haven't found a definitive answer if I can actually repair an AGM battery using this charger. It seems like half the people commenting say NO while the other half says YES.

    • @b0bsaget007
      @b0bsaget007 Před 2 lety +1

      It was probably because the G3500 is too small for the batteries you were trying to recharge. Because it can only charge at up to 3.5 amps and it uses timer logic, it might have thought that something was wrong with the batteries even though they may be fine, and it was just the case of taking too long to charge at the relatively low amperage that it hits the time limit on a charge cycle. That is why in the user guides NOCO specifies a maximum battery capacity for each of their chargers.

      Why? I’m convinced thus far there’s a reason they haven’t gone to AGM or at least offer a OEM better battery.
      I’ve learned, seen and experienced that very, very few products beat OEM quality.
      If you trust an OEM manufacturer to build a reliable engine like Cummins I don’t think they would cheap out on the quality of Filters & Fluids. It would be much more beneficial and profitable to cheap out on engineering and engine parts. Why build a well engineered quality built engine just to put and manufacture cheap factory OEM oils & filters..

    Thanks for the review :) Personally I'd say 'bad call'. All comparisons with WET Ca-Ca prove that Genius 10 is total crap compared to G7200 in terms of restoring gravity. Side features are great though. E.g. supply mode 10A compared to 5A on the precedessor. Yet still, when it comes down to charging in the repair mode, Genius 10 is a huuuuuge disappointment. In the past months, after the initial reviews, G7200 was selling out like crazy, as nobody who saw the review, wanted the Genius 10 and some G7200 owners wanted a second one for the future. So, given the choice you had, I'd take G7200 without a doubt. Better gravity restoring, 24V mode handy on some yachts (more like emergency, but that's the point) and even trucks (again, just in emergency situations). I'd only get 10 for the better power supply :D

    Another knot head review, a review is testing and the results of your test on dead batteries. Reveiw means you actually tested the product over time and can state the outcome of your findings as a review. Not here it is this is what it looks like and how it is SUPPOSED TO FUNCTION.
    These put this crap out there to hear themselves talk and possibly get advertisement money.
    Its internet gb , and energy waste.
