Arthur's "Army-Personality" thing was that people who collect the godsworn leigons have the opposite personalities of the thier army. World Eaters are really nice folks, Death Guard players are relatively well kept, and Emperor's Children are ace.

A person I relate to in the setting is sgt. Maximmion Voss. Short guy at least by Marine standards who couldn’t get taller so just trained religiously and got super jacked and who was stronger than most SM . As a former competitive bodybuilder and also 5’6 nice to see a short marine get some respect.

The lore was already a MESS way before female Custodes introduction, which almost (again: almost) nothing compared to how much "grimderp" and "marvel" bullshit that is within the modern setting.

Personally, not a fan of how much certain characters warp the narrative around them (hint hint Primarchs), I liked it when the setting never changed and grimdark perpetually happened with no sign of an ending. That said, some of the recent lore is pretty awesome. I like Tyranids winning the Octarius War, I love the recent Orks and Necron books we've got, and more recently some Drukhari revival (the Rogue Trader video game, Mike Brooks' "Da Big Dakka", that Lilith Hesperax book coming out soon).
We're also getting some really fun video games announced too. Space Marine 2 and Mechanicus 2 being the top highlights. As for the actual tabletop game and the hobby of painting and modelling as a whole...yeah, that's a can of worms I'd rather not touch right now.

Well, trying to answer: the risks of "marvelization" are, exactly, regarding how the Primarchs are used or can be used in the setting. I mean, it is complicated but, sometimes when it gets to my knowledge some new deeds of them in the latest books of the now finally concluded "Horus Heresy" or some of the new books, it seems more mangá/anime characters than Grimdark that some of then once were. Look, in general I like how Guilliman is being portrayed and developed in the setting but Lion El' Jonson, on the other hand... look at his "Son Of The Forest" or his "Ark Of Omen": it is very abrupt with heroic that... I don't know man, it's being too easy to him.
But the menaces of "marvelization" are more something that many people within the fandom want considering new events surrounding, one more time, the Primarchs. Some people want that dead Primarchs to simply get resurrected given very confusing things in "The End and The Death" - Sanguinius talking with Ferrus or The Emperor saying that he will see Horus, which can have many meanings yeah - or things like "Clonegrim" to gloriously return or the traitors Primarchs simply to be "redeemed" and return as "wayward sons" to The Imperium had VERY good reasons to wage war against (Lorgar and Angron mainly) or where too horrible even in their imperial days (Mortarion and Perturabo). Notice how all that is very biased towards the Imperium...
I mean, none of that is REALLY happening now. But the menaces are there.
