    Great breakdown. I'd like to know how you did your bottom end upgrade. Specifically did you do all the crazy machine work to the block or did you simply dismantle the short block and re-install the new parts. Did you do a hone and all that?

    • @605BOLT
      @605BOLT  Před 3 lety +3

      Thanks for your kind words. In regards to the engine rebuild, I broke the whole engine down and reassembled it with the help of a good friend of mine. This was in 2016 (prior to me posting on this channel). The machine work was done at a place in my hometown. Polished the crankshaft, honed the cylinders very slightly, and cleaned everything. The cost was minimal because the work was minimal. I think it cost about 300 dollars in machine work. Then we reassembled it. The engine is still standard size rings and bearings.

      @@605BOLT Thanks for the reply. I have a stock bottom end and would like to bulletproof it. I don't see the need for going crazy on machine work if the engine is in good working order to begin with.

      No I don't really. Did that before I started the channel but I can try and get something like that up here. Pretty easy really on mine since all the emissions stuff is deleted. Basically screw the large threaded cap onto the exhaust pipe, and then cap the port on the plenum using the machined plate. I bought a JC Customs delete kit and it was a nice piece. There is another little bracket in the kit but the sensor it was for I deleted. Once the snow clears a bit that would be a good video to make. Thank you for the idea. 👍

    What exactly “quit” on your blower??

    • @605BOLT
      @605BOLT  Před rokem

      The bone stick blower ran until about 75K miles as a factory stock blower. Then when I went to pulley up to the bigger pulley it didn't even last long enough to get through the data logging before it started howling and grumbling. Bad noises and extreme heat in the snout. So hot that I couldn't touch it. Before I totally screwed it up, I took it and sent it to jokerz for full rebuild and port. He did that and then that blower catastrophically came apart and fully seized about 10K miles later. None of that original blower was useable at that point. So now I have a second blower that I send to jokerz and it's even a bigger hunk of shit but that's a little bit of a spoiler. It lasted me basically half a summer and it now is making noise like it's giving up now too. So I'm generally not pleased with my Jokerz blowers. They both leaked after he was done with them and I had to reseal them on my own. Long story.... I'm not pleased.

    • @605BOLT
      @605BOLT  Před rokem +1

      Ya it's the shits. I understand that when you run a big pulley you are abusing the blower. I get that. But I would really think a guy could expect more than 10K miles out of one. And also, I expect them to not leak within the first 100 miles. My most recent one leaked the first night I took it out. And it was just sloppy work. Last one I got, the black one, when I got it back from him the plenum was RTV'd on. He sends them that way after port because you don't use a gasket. You use RTV because the inlet hope is bigger and the plenum outlet is bigger. Makes sense. But I needed to pull it off to tap the holes and add fittings to the plenum. Anyway, I go to remove it and the whole front edge of where the plenum mounts to the blower had a gap. So much that there was only RTV on the blower side of the joint and none sticking to the plenum side. There was a visible air gap. Reason was, when he painted the blower he didn't mask the top of the holes where the plenum connects and therefore there was a thick layer or wrinkle paint that was cocking the plenum up in the front. This causes the surfaces to not mate and left and air gap. Luckily I took it off or that would have been an unmetered air leak which would have caused more air to be sucked into the engine than what the MAF would read which would have resulted in a lean condition at best and possibly a blown engine at worst. For the alleged best blower and Eaton guy in the community who rags on other blower guys and claims to be the best, I expected better.
