Brilliant vid Ben. It’s good to see a craftsman not afraid to show the cockups along the way. As you say in the vid when things go wrong there are 2 ways you can go. Accept the 2nd rate result and hope no one notices or bite the bullet and correct/discard then do the work to get the quality you know can be achieved.
Cheers buddy, hope you had a cracking weekend! 🍻😊🍻
I admire your dedication to your craft. I don't do massive amounts of hand planing, so buying the Lie Nielsen screwdriver seemed excessive, and making one seemed like a lot of work.....so I flattened a latch keeper plate with a hammer and it works brilliantly.......I've just realized what an idle bastard I am!
I’d probably be the same mate if I didn’t enjoy it! I hope you had a lovely weekend David! 🍻😊🍻
I press like on Ben’s vids before I’ve even watched them. Rag n Bone deserves a knighthood for passing on the tip of watching this channel 👍
Now that’s a lovely compliment, that’s made the hairs stand up on my arms!!! Wish the CZcams algorithm would slower that to would be good to be able to do this full time. 😆
You just reminded me of my macroeconomics class in college where we discussed "The enjoyability factor" of drinking Coke.
Sounds fun 😂
Ben, You show and teach exactly how I think ❤🐐
I teach how I think 😂😂😂 very dyslexicly 😆
Time to add a lathe to your shop 👍
I don’t have the money let alone the space, I don’t see any point buying a desktop version as I’d like one to do table legs possibly.
Showing which tools you’re using is a great idea 👍
A right pain in the arse though 😂
You're a funny bugger 😂 Fast becoming my favourite woodworking channel. Great work mate. Really appreciate you having little pop ups showing what gear you're using btw
Cheers mate! I appreciate the compliment man!!! I hope you had a wicked weekend!!! 🍻😊🍻
Talk about doing things by hand, many ideas given you have :)
Great vid...
You know what they say, man with hand in pocket feel cocky all day. Hope you had a lovely weekend dude! 🍻😊🍻
That is one fine looking knob, lovingly stroked and polished. Might wanna get the doc to check that redness and dots though.
Hahah funny you say that, that was gonna be the road I was gonna go with the vid in the first place 😂
Cool soundtrack. Balls deep ha ha
Cheer dude!!! Hope you had a nice weekend!! 🍻🍻🍻
Another great video Ben.
Thank you Paul! I hope you had a wonderful weekend mate!!! 🍻🍻🍻
Great Vid… bold colour really enjoyed it. Keep them coming…
Cheers dude! Hope you had a lovely weekend!! 🍻😊🍻
Looks amazing but I can't help but thinking it would be way easier with a lathe🤣 Making tool handles like you are here made me buy one!
I’d love one, but no room. I feel they need their own room too. But hell yeah would be way easier and faster!!
@@HewAndAwe I bought a small bench top model. Doesn't need much space and didn't cost a fortune
sweet tunes!
Lol makes a nice change seeing this comment from “hate the music” 😂
It's really hard to get things like this lookin right by hand, well done lad 😁🤙
I'm a perfectionist too, borderin on OCD in that everything must be right. Workin by hand now the last few years has helped me in a way, coz a lot of things don't actually need to be right (as in measurements) it jus needs to look right.
I try to look at perfection as a direction, not a destination. If seen as a destination you'll likely be annoyed when ya don't reach it; there is nearly always a flaw or somethin that went wrong. Seen as a direction means ya have somethin to aim for, so it's not as frustrating when ya miss the mark; was headed in the right direction, il get closer next time 😁
Plus, the first time we make anything flyin by the seat of our pants we make more fuxk ups than "normal" 😆🤷
Cracker of a video lad, as always 😁🤙
I hear ya brother, the one thing that’s made a huge difference in my life is making things out of wood, for so many years I’ve been frustrated cause I can’t achieve anything perfectively and learning that with wood it’s impossible to achieve has humbled me in exactly the same way as you’ve said!! Would of been nice to of learned that 30 years ago and not wasted time with school!
Fantastic video. Just bought one of these honing guides and having to use water pump pliers..... getting a real pain. Loving the cool music. Always a joy to watch. Thank you.
Thank you Stuart! I hate those pump pliers, they always slip! 😤 hope you had a lovely weekend bud! 🍻😊🍻
Like rag week 😂
Nah, Mexican Coca Cola is where it’s at
I’ve never tried it, for a min there I thought maybe it’s loaded with DMT or the likes 😂
@@HewAndAwe just good old fashioned sugar, it’s the seventies, in your mouth.
Finally some metal working on the channel..I always knew this would happen..just no way to keep a guy limted to plant working..got to move on to rocks..Cheers..
…you like rag week? 😂
@@HewAndAwe a prefer the green primo hydro myself vs the brown dirt weed..some people use it for practice..practice rolling, smoking..its like non alcoholic beer..
😂😂😂
Hey mate. Loving the videos. In Aus that double sided tape is AU$40 on Ebay but it is a 50 metre roll. Question, Is this stuff thin? I want to use it for template routing and a lot of the stuff I've come across is like mounting tape that's too thick. Other brands I've come across are a pain to remove from what it's stuck to. Have to use spirits to get rid of it. Thanks for your help.
What the actual fuck, really?!?!? No it’s not thin, and there’s nothing else I’d rely on, you’ll see what I mean when you need to get it off, u don’t need a lot! I think it’s .25mm thick.
Knob! 🤣🍺🍻
I’ll never grow up 🤙
Awesome. A fly agaric screwdriver! Last time I popped by (5 mins ago) you had 10k subs. Well, look at you now, on the way to a well deserved 20k. I couldn't help asking myself throughout; "Is Ben the Vinnie Jones of woodworking, or is he the Ron Jeremy of wood(!)working?"
I recently found out what happened to Ron, I’ve used his voice in a few vids too 😬 led me to wonder how many peeps from my childhood aren’t in prison 😂
@@HewAndAwe Childhood?! Bloody hell. I watched Jackanory. There's a pun there somewhere.
Ben, McDonald's Coca-Cola is delicious. But have you ever had Mexican Coca-Cola? Pure cane sugar. Diabetes in a glass bottle. You can feel your teeth decaying as the sweet caramel spunk-of-Satan washes over them. Next level delicious. Kinda like your woodworking videos. "Ferocious wank"?!! I'm gonna use the sh*t outta that one. Keep 'em coming brother.
😂😂😂 it’s been mentioned and will defo try it, if I ever leave the uk. Can’t see it here though.
