Is the Onewheel GT a Commuter? Pittsburgh to Suburbs Ride and Review

From Onewheel's early beginnings in 2014 as a 5 mile range board with a 13mph top speed, we now have the 6th generation offering in the GT, that is totally refined and boasts up to 32 miles of range with top speeds in excess of 20mph. What may be considered a toy too most onlookers, the GT is an extremely efficient and totally capable commuting vehicle. It could even be a car replacement for those that want a more enjoyable way to get from here to there, at least when the weather's nice..

When me and my wife rides bikes in south side we see the one wheels and like the other ones the group flys by us. Neat to see.

Cool ride. I live in suburban DC area and don’t think I’d be able to find a way I wouldn’t die if I tried it, but it’s cool to see it works in Pittsburgh. I have too many routes I’d have to go that are busy, busy 45 mph roads with no sidewalk, and no way around those I’ve ever been able to figure out. I can make it safely to a commuter rail 2 miles from my house, so I do that if I have to go downtown. Work is 16 miles away, it’d be a doable distance if I wanted to, but just haven’t been able to figure out how to make it work.
I've only had my GT for two months now.. but I really love the thing!!
My wife bought it for my 70th Birthday last November, even though I never even rode on any kind of skateboard before in my life!.. took me a little while to learn how to stay on my board, but now I take off for a cruising every chance I get!...

Great video, it is my favorite way travel.
I want to ride my GT into work. The only issue I have is I will haft to some how carry the board in pretty far away too get to my office and GT weighing 35lbs it will be pretty darn heavy after a while.
Agree, GT is no fun to carry. Can you leave it, lock it, or store it somewhere near your building entrance?
@@AdamSolar No I won’t be able to lock it out side the building. I did think of that option, the problem is it will be in a high traffic area and I won’t be able to charge the OneWheel, so I decided to order the OneWheel back pack from FM on there Black Friday special and I’ll see how that works out.

I got my onewheel a couple months ago and the one thing I don't like is it feels like everyone wants the rights of both a pedestrian and a vehicle. "Road closed, foot traffic only, that's me!"
