- Here's my after action report on a game played on Capybara's "Greece Diplomacy" variant map, which we played on Discord.
My general links are as follows: floridamandiplomacy.wordpress... / discord

We couldn't have done it without the Floridaman Discord server
hey, love the map, but i was just wondering if you HAD to make Crete brown? look at it
Thank you, Cappy! A good time was had by most, in this game, I think. And I couldn't ask for better marketing than the map designer for the variant commenting on the video about it.
I think there are only a limited number of colors... but I will agree that if there was a color that wasn't yellow that could be the alternative, that color would probably be better than brown.
I think one reason why it is natural on this map for Sparta and Athens to become tangled is there are multiple neutral centers between them. I would say it is like how Austria and Turkey always become involved in the Balkans early on.
I think they're so close that it's almost like Italy and Austria, but I agree that the neutrals are definitely a contributor.
Nice to see the process of a new variant being created.
I agree, it's fun to participate in it. Capybara is running a game testing the new version of the map now.
Great Video again FloridaMan!
I have an interesting question about the original diplomacy map: What is your favourite supply centre to build in, and which unit if so?
I am currently in a game as Russia and I have come to love the versatility of Moscow. It angers nobody to build there and yet is utterly adaptable in its utility.
When I'm Russia, my favorite build to get to do is fleet St. Pete North coast, because it signals that I'm expanding toward England. When I'm England, the favorite is fleet Liverpool, because it means I'm going South to attack France. When I'm Germany, it's Munich, because armies can go anywhere from there (although it was very close between that and fleet Kiel). When I'm Austria, it's Trieste, because I like to get a navy going. When I'm Italy, my favorite build is army Venice, because I like to start expanding over land. And when I'm Turkey, it's Constantinople, because it's incredibly flexible whether you're building armies or fleets, but especially fleets.
If you are interested in checking it out, there are links to the Greece games in the Floridaman Discord Server. We are now on our 3rd game and version of the map.
If I manage to get a fully automatic Web Version up, I'll update here as well.
I'm definitely going to be following what happens, myself! I'll also be very curious as to when you get to what you consider a final version of the map, what that will look like.
Athens should definitely have 4 centres on this map
You should get on the Discord and let Cappy know what you think; maybe he'll make a tweak to his map!
Great video! Loved playing as Epirus and really enjoyed the map!
Thank you! I enjoyed the game, too, and it's nice to have a new variant to play. Maybe we'll set something up again sometime.
I feel like Athens is pretty much in an impossible situation in this map since it can be reasonably attacked by every single power, even in classic Austria is safe from France and England, and Germany is safe from Turkey(and usually Italy)
Killed first! Damn you Melior! Good game to watch afterwards though :)
You were a great sport about it, though. And you really got the drop on me :)
@@floridamandiplomacy wouldn't quite say so XD had no builds and two hostile two build neighbours to show for it
@@olster1612 I was fortunate that you found no allies interested in attacking me, and that your southern neighbor unexpectedly attacked. But General Luck has always been one of my favorite commanders!
I really like diplomacy maps, so I'm definitely screenshotting these diagrams!
I support this. They're beautiful images, in part because this map is especially nice!
Map looks awesome
I really like this map
It's pretty, right?
I am playiing as athens in the new game, and i would liek to see a video on it too. And another game just started, so you can make videos on both of them. The game i am in, will finish in a few weeks, (probably).
I will take a look and see if I think there's a good way I can make a video on it. I do think it's interesting that the map has changed since this last game, and that alone makes it more worthy of a video than it might otherwise be.
Frankly embarrassing game for me as Macedonia tbh
Well, I know it didn't go as well as our last game together. You were in somewhat of a difficult position, though. I think the changes Capybara made to the map will strengthen Macedonia (in fact, looking at the ongoing game he's running on the new map, I believe that's manifestly true), and in hindsight, you were always going to be something of a sitting duck for an attack from Epirus.
at least you weren't elimmed first! :D
Sometimes, it feels worse for me to be taken out in the midgame than to be crushed early on. It feels like I got off the ground, but as soon as I was out of sight of the airport, I got shot down.
@@floridamandiplomacy agreed. Glad I got out quick enough :)
Floridaman, I’m in the process of rough drafting a map, could I send it to you to find people to play test when it’s ready?
Absolutely, you should post it on my Discord!
