Helped me a lot! I didn't know that you had to take out the strap rings and that there was a locking mechanism for them. The old video from SmallRig didn't help either, and neither the box came with a manual. Thank you so much!
Am so glad you found this useful. Your videos have been very educational for me. 🙏🙏
FYI i found you don't need to take off the camera strap rings and it's better to left on for peak attachements.
Well the cage is designed so that you remove the strap rings and put a screw through the hole that is left which gives you an extra point of attachment to the camera and the rig.
Great Demonstration. Thank you
The little door on the rig is to allow battery removal/emplacement.
Thanks a lot, didn't understand how the 2nd lock worked haha !! FYI I'd recommand using the Allen key to screw the top handle rather than the small one you used (it's inside the handle itself)
Thank you
thank you brother
Great video and very helpful
Just ordered my cage for the a74. Great video thanks! I subbed 👍
Thank you. Enjoy the cage.
Can the top handle be installed at a 90 degree angle to film vertically
Helped me so much thank you!
can we use SmallRig Advanced Kit for Sony Alpha 7 IV/Alpha 7 S III 3669 in vertical operating modes. thanks
Yes you can
@@evermoremedia thanks 😊
I have the same cage for the A7R4,.
Granted, this is a different camera ,. But I just wonder if they’re not the same,… because on the bottom of my A7R4 ,. In the front grip area of the camera in the battery compartment area .. look at the bottom of your camera in that area,.. see if there is an empty hole ,.. on the cage there’s a threaded hole that corresponds to this hole in the bottom of my camera,..
And there’s a setscrew stored in the bottom of the cage. It’s meant to be removed from its storage position and inserted in this threaded hole that corresponds to this empty hole in the bottom of my camera.
I know reading this it all sounds very abstract, but if you have the cage and your camera in hand, and you look where I’m saying , you will see exactly what I’m trying to describe ,…
Also, you should remove the second neck strap ring on the right side of the camera because the cage fits very close to that neck strap lug .. doing these final few things just further solidifies the cage to your camera.. it’s an awesome cage and a awesome camera,…
Hi there, would you happen to know if this cage fits on the A7S3? I know its advertised for both a74 as well as a7s3. However I know that both of these cameras are not the exact same size.
Yes it does fit and is designed for the A7sIII and the A1 as well
what the camera rig serie is that? the link unfortunately doesn't work there. so i did some research but there are more than 1 of the rig. so, what is it? thank you
This is the one I am using

Thanks for the review.
Thank you!!!
cool video bro
Thank you
cool vid thanks
Thank you
Just got this cage, great video man!
Regarding the part at 4:49: do you think it’s possible to make it too tight to the point it damages the body? If I don’t tighten the base screw enough the cage will spin a little.
After you’re Video I’m kinda concerned that I made it to tight.
What do you think?
You should be good. That screw point is strong enough. I won’t worry too much about it.
@@evermoremedia Thanks for your response!
Idk I have a smallrig cage on my 5dmk3 and I'm not going to use the strap pin, hoping I don't have to.
You may not have to. The strap pin is to help secure the camera more firmly however you can choose not to use it. You may have situations where the camera may move within the cage if the screw at the bottom is not tight enough.
@@evermoremedia I'll look when it arrives, but I thought the raised bar on the bottom front is a "twist lock" to keep camera from rotating, that's how my other smallrig cage is. The main reason to use a cage is it gives 2+ 1/4 20 threads on the bottom to use two screws to mount it to a video tripod plate.
@@DamianDodd the raised bar at the bottom on this particular cage is to help with the battery door. It solves 2 issue. First the space around the battery door for the A7iv is really thin. So having the bar there allows for moving out of the way to get the battery door open. The second thing that I noticed is that the battery door for the A7IV doesn’t have the cut out for the cable to run through if you use a dummy battery. That flap can hold the battery door if you have to use a dummy battery. I hope the battery door for your camera has the cut out for the battery cable if needed. I use the EOS RP sometimes and I noticed that the camera won’t turn on if the battery door is not fully closed.
Yahoo- Yo~ thisi s well view, 🤙
Thank you.
How do you put the straps too?
There is a cut out for the strap on the cage just above the point where the strap ring would have been.
@@evermoremedia can you like make short video on how for new beginners for camera? Will really appreciate it 😅
