  • TVS Apache RTR 200 4V BS6 Mileage test results show it is better than the previous bike.
TVS Apache RTR 200 4V BS6 launch took place in late-2019.
TVS Apache RTR 200 4V BS6 price was recently revised to Rs 1.27 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
TVS Apache RTR 200 4V BS6 engine performance is almost the same and drop isn’t a problem in daily runabout scenarios.
The TVS Apache RTR 200 4V has been the flagship naked offering from the company. The Apache RTR 200 4V received its BS6 updates late last year. The price of the bike was bumped up recently, as the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V BS6 is now priced at Rs 1.27 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The new price is around Rs 13,000 more than the outgoing BS4 carb version of the Apache RTR 200 4V. For the additional moolah, you are now getting a cleaner engine, fuel-injection, some new nifty features, a LED headlight and optional grippier tyres.
Powering the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V is the same old 197.75cc single-cylinder motor that has been heavily reworked to meet the BS6 emission norms. It is now fuel injected, with what TVS claims to be a better tune than the older fuel injected model that was on sale for a brief period. As a result, fuel efficiency has improved significantly. Engine performance has taken a bit of a hit with the motor now putting out 20.5PS and 16.8Nm, power might be the same as before but torque is now down by 1.3Nm. How much has that affected the performance? The answer is in the video.

The Apache RTR 200 4V was always a very fuel efficient motorcycle. It packs loads of mid-range torque which is crucial in daily runabout situations. The gear shifts are slick and the ratios themselves allow you to ride at moderate city speeds in taller gears very efficiently. Plus, this new bike gets fuel injection and reduced friction coating inside the cylinder and gearbox, making sure that the engine burns fossils more efficiently. And hence we got a higher fuel efficiency number than before, 50.7kmpl to be precise.

    Experience of my RTR 200 BS-IV :
1- I'm getting a mileage of around 40-42kmpl In city and highway. ( it always depends on how you ride)
2- Side stand of BS-IV is super slanting, if not kept properly , a little load can make it fall.
3- This bike is never made for touring, but due to its displacement we can. But it's not a triple digit tourer. Keep it around 70-80kmph and you will get decent tank range and also less vibration.
4- Vibration is present when you rev it hard or cross 70kmph.
5- If you respect your bike and ride it decently, then automatically it will give you better performance.

they have been doing jugaad for 15 years, original apache had 147.5 cc engine same as suzuki fiero, then they increased bore size to 159.7 cc and called it apache 160, then they increased bore size to 177.4 cc and called it apache 180, then they increased bore size to 197.5 cc and called it apache 200, now they will increase bore size to 220 for zeppelin this is next level TVS jugaad, the only apache bike which has my respect is the RR310, the truth is that they took entire bmw technology and gave it a new skin but it is way better than RTR outdated fraud.
What do you mean good performance, it's torque is 16.8 nm that's lower than hero 200cc bikes, this bike is a fraud.

Dual channel ABS, slipper clutch, full led light setup, butter smooth engine and useful power and torque in the low and mid range, great handling without compromising on suspension softness i.e., ride quality, kyb suspension, 130 section radial rear tyre, GTT and Bluetooth connectivity. Although i can say that previous headlight design was better(personal pref.) but for all those who thinks it should have a 6th gear, they just cant get the point that without fairing, going above 80 will throw much of windblast, doing long so you will feel much exhausted & eventually disliking this bike.It was much evident that bike is made purely for urban jungles to enjoy much better OVERTAKES.GTT in this bike also proves that bike is made for city.R15 have fairing & that 6th gear in that will cope up to 150km/hr but ns200 or dukes with extreme power but no fairings are actually just made for city driving, giving 6th gear in them is just a curse actually.RCs with fairing will justify the 6th gear..& thats why bullets have just 5 gear even with 350cc engines or more just because of no fairing. This is the strategy behind TVS,for which they are not providing 6th gear from start, despite gr8 demand.
They are focussing on quality & user experience that's why BMW choose them for partnership, unlike ktm which chooses bajaj.
Everyone (also brand) has their own level of mind & that makes strategies & ultimately success.Hope your next review will reflect such points into consideration & provide a great video
    As always good vdo.Signing off.Thanks

Hi, great video. I have a few questions to you and others. I currently own same BS3 model and bought when it came out in 2016, its a curburator, non abs variant. I have done only 16.5K in 4 years with regular good maintenance
    1. The wheels lock up all the time like under even a slight hard breaking. Breaking is very average- How is the breaking performance and does the wheels lock up under harsh braking
    2. The gearbox has become haywire now. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, N gear shifts the display misread all the time- Is there any such problem here.
    3. The fuel indicator always show one bar less even if it is fully filled- Is there any such case here
    4. While riding i dont feel the bike is stable. I have to be very careful to keep it steady- How is the stability and control in this bike
    5. The stock ramora tires offers very less grip- how is the grip from these tires on the stock bike
I am considering to exchange and buy this BS6 model. Should I go for it or look to a different 200/250CC bike?

    • @hiteshadhikari

It has short stacked gear, in highway where u need to maintain high speeds it runs out of gear space and hence rpm are high and higher fuel consumption

    First of all,wakanda for ever🙅🏽‍♂️
I loved the rtr 200 bs4 ,competent price, slipper clutch, decent instrument console, dual channel abs.....but now, what they have done is completly changed the front...personally i dont like it at all...from some angles its ok,especially from sides, but the mid seperator on the headlamp.....entuk sundaram....why ..... Personally if i had a choice ,i would ask them to fit the old head into this.....
Also, many technologies have added, very good well done....but the looks is also very important mister sundaram....have you seen the gixer, that could be disasterous, but the managed some how....i think they are still using the old designers...try something new da....
