Excellent versatility, especially all the thoughtfulness that goes in. Under-storage door is a great idea to allow for carrying long items. Ventilation. Shore power. Electrical system.
Uniformly Superb! Sir, you are articulate, cogent, possess visionary form & function, have the heart & mind of an engineer/ architect/artist. An impressive triumvirate and skillset. Paul Skywalker oh, ok, thanks for letting me know. Then again it could be my personal opinion; I think the van is the perfect size, it stores bikes separately, and the living space is more than adequate, it’s functional and comfortable. Also I’ve completed 7 self builds in the past ten years, I know what I like, but again thanks for the insight.
A very nice build; it is functional, straight forward, and well thought out. You did a great job showing us around and I appreciated how you explained the logic behind why you did what you did. Funny, I didn't notice any background noise. :)
Always love to see bike racers. I used to race BMX Powder Puff in my teens. Some of the best times of my life. Contemplating a Promaster to live on the road. You made a fantastic build. Just great! Best wishes in all you do and BE SAFE! Jodi :)
You are a genius man . You have figured out pretty much everything . Especially the garage is a hot bomb . Loved it . Thanks a lot for sharing your van with us
Wow. Great job. I have been trying to work out my dream van conversion design, but it appears that you beat me to it. I am very impressed, but a little disappointed because I like to be creative, but don't really know how I can improve on your design. Thanks for sharing. New subscriber
I've been following many van builds and this one stands out . Quality and detail I was most impressed with the tables and gloss ,,, looks like many layers of ? Would you mind sharing how you fabricated these table tops ,,, Mush appreciated , Thanks
epic van layout 100%. I really want to make one that has a full shower in back and middle is bed and storage? I feel this would be a great set up because you could have full private shower and toilet with rear access. ???
Fantastic! I've been looking for a layout for the short Promaster...you still have a queen sized bed not twin and no shower or toilet, but I love the space in the garage, 2-way swining door, organization of electrical/propane/compressor and so many more ideas. Do you have the plans available anywhere?
awesome build! I'm planning a similar lay out for my bike van. I'm wondering if you've ever had problems with the vent in the back, where the flap vent used to be? For instance when you leave it open and then drive through heavy rain, does water come in?
I'm looking at full-time van life for post-retirement. I've gotten a lot of ideas from a lot of different sources, but this set up is the closest I've found that matches what I'm looking to do. Short wheelbase for maneuverability in urban areas. Mostly self-contained for boondocking in the wilderness. A huge garage for storage and toys. I might consider a hitch rack for carrying a small motorcycle. One question: Do you have a feel for whether a 1500 would adequately handle the weight you're carrying and the driving you do, or would the increased robustness of the 2500 be required?
Any chance you can tell some details about the way the front table is attached to the floor? That is genius and I want to do that to my 2017 Promaster. Thanks in advance if you have time to answer.
A great build. 2 things are troublesome in my opinion, the height of bed, cannot sit straight in the bedroom. And the cabinets above your head, I’d hate to hit my head accidentally. It will also make it very claustrophobic.
Very nice van conversion build - well thought out. I would give up some headroom ( or find a way to pick up 1.5”) and add 2 pullout drawers ( rear door width) so you wouldn’t have to unload 8 items and then crawl under the bed area to release the front bike mount.
@@VanToBike I watch so many of these van & school bus builds, and i must say yours is one of those that stands out. The electrical wall was done beautifully. The whole design was wonderfully done. Great job, Great Van, Well Done !👍
Than you for all this content, I really enjoyed the breakdown on what and how you built the van from scratch, answered so many questions I’ve had. I’m curious to know, all said and done, how much did this build cost you? I’m trying to price out my upcoming build and really need to get some realistic numbers so I can budget properly. Agin thank you for all the great content and information, super helpful!
VanToBike awesome, thank you for the response. I’m looking to buy a sprinter from a government auction site at a steep discount. Judging by the different color body panels, Looks like your van may be a salvage? Where did you find your van and what price? Thanks again for sharing, very helpful.
Not sure if this has been answered somewhere else yet, but do you have a budget on what the build cost you? This is almost exactly the style I'm hoping to do later this year.
Simply genius. Gorgeous with smart design decisions executed everywhere you look. Wow.
Not a biker but this is the most beautifully designed special purpose van I’ve seen. The electrical system alone is just spectacular. Great job!
Excellent versatility, especially all the thoughtfulness that goes in. Under-storage door is a great idea to allow for carrying long items. Ventilation. Shore power. Electrical system.
Layouts are very personal to your own needs but I love the simplicity and attention to detail on this van.
Mark Velo completely agree. It’s part art.
Great, great build.
One of the cleanest and straightforward builds I’ve come across so far. Kudos to you and thanks for sharing.
Great van, perfect plan layout for us too, I’ve looked at hundreds of videos, yours fits the bill, thanks! 👍

The two-way swinging door to the garage is genius. The only one I've seen. You're going to start a trend!
Love the thought that you built your van around your bike...lol 👍👍
Great & clear Setup!!!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the tour! Eventually I want to build my own van for ski/bike trips, and general layout of this van hits all the right design points.
Great build! You’ve got everything...very thoughtful floor plan. Thanks for sharing!
That's the best self build camper I've seen, amazing.
You haven't seen enough then...

Nice work on the propane storage box! Very few van builder understand that it must be done that way!
I enjoyed watching this and will be using some ideas here in my camper conversion.

Really nice clean build. Wondering what brand of seat swivel you used and if they were reasonably priced. Thanks
How did you mount all your electronics without going through the outside of the Van? Such a clean install.
Great setup. You forgot the link for the shower on/off foot switch. Thanks

Beautiful and Clever build! I’m looking for a builder In NY/NJ area 🤷🏻♀️
I wish I had time to help, but I am too busy right now. Maybe someone else in NY/NJ reads this and reaches out to you. Good luck.

@VantoBike - do you have a floor plan I can purchase and/or a "DIY how to" manual"? Can you help me on my build?

We had these in the 60's in California. Simpler, but with surfboards, and girls
where did you get your girls? im looking for some for my van.

Just wondering what the propane box/sealed room thing is called?
How do you fill your black tube with water?
Dude I was literally right behind you when you were in Oklahoma the other day
oh snap, hope I wasn't driving too slow :) We were on our way to Bentonville AR. Cheers.
Who did your power, the electrical panel area is very nice I would duplicate it in a heart beat
Thank you. I did it myself. It's not that difficult if follow the instructions of the components being used.

Nice build. How did you vent the heater?
it's it vented thru the side - watch this: czcams.com/video/4dkh17Lft18/video.html
Great work. If you were living in the van full time, would you prefer a 159" or do you think your 136" is enough space?
i would get the 159" and build a shower inside the van if I had to live in it.

@@VanToBike Thanks!
Great use of the space ! I'm planning to build a bike garage layout as well. How tall are you and what is the size of the bed?
I am 5'9" and the bed is a queen (60 inches wide)
Why the need for commercial plates in NYS? is it because you have no windows in the back doors?
it was my work van for two years (no windows) before I decided to convert it into a camper.
I can't decide whether to get a van or a 4dr jeep. Overlanding or van life.
Van life
@@troylevi9654 but with Overlanding I can practically go anywhere... and I like going everywhere

Can you post a link for the table base?
Just Google: AP Products 131119 Standard Table Base. There are many kinds. Cheers!
