My reaction exactly, Deban. For me this song is so much better than any song I’ve heard this year. Electric Fields should win Australian Decides & it should win Eurovision. As you said, Deban, this song is bigger than Eurovision.
I’m an Australian, I voted for this song and I am absolutely gutted that it didn’t win. I truely believe with this song we would have done exceptional. Australia made the wrong choice with Zero Gravity. Every year I do a top 10 list. This will be the first time I won’t be putting my own countries entry at 1st place.
Fellow Aussie here who wanted Electric Fields to win too! Imo Top 5 ESC material. I really hope they'll compete again in the future with another masterpiece.
I know it was unfortunate that there were so many good Artists in that year no disrespect to MH she was brilliant too but obviously had a bigger budget for production and wooed the voters she had good success but I feel like in 2022 (post pandemic)this song and performance would win it for us. I hope they have another go at it because I actually feel that this song has healing powers that should be shared globally.

This is the kind of "different" banger I want is like.
People out here stanning KEiiNO from Norway but it's so... Eurovision.
But this? THIS is a unique and not too forcefully Eurovision bop!!
THIS is 2019's Lie To Me level of different, and I predict if they get to represent, they will do almost equally good at the least!
Exactly how I feel, it has the same kind of vibe Monsters had last year. It gets a bit too repetitive and forced after listening to it for a few times.
When I had it on repeat I lost track of the part of the song I was at thanks to how repetitive and looped the Chorus felt, only the final bridge helped me actually distinguish the part I was in. The verses are a bit weak as well and they try to give them more substance than it really holds.
I see the appeal, I see the possibility how it may grab first time watchers well, but it doesn't lend itself to repetitive playing as much. And I'll be honest about Tom Hugo, for someone who has lived abroad for a long time, his enunciation needs work. Hearing "Axe-y your spirit in the sky" every time is not appealing when it's supposed to be "I can see" haha, but that's just a small personal nitpick.
It would be nice to see both on the Eurovision stage possibly though because I might warm back up to KEiiNOs song once I've taken some time off and hear it again after a while.
Hell, even Euphoria got boring after hearing it on loop everywhere here in Finland after its victory.

Very sad this didn't win, it's actually a fantastic song full stop regardless of Eurovision. Will likely be my song of 2019. However, it came a very respectable second so good on them. And likewise on the back catalogue.
