I first tried phone vr and I loved it and now have a quest 3 and play vr almost everyday, all because of dantdm and that $5 headset
I even tried to run The Forest on a phone VR. Puke fest, don't do it, but it's something that pushed me to Quest 2
I disagree. The first non-devkit Oculus CV1 was, atleast in my book, the start of modern VR. Not only did it come out earlier (albeit a couple of days) but they also figured out what works in the controller space best up until this day, basically everyone copied the design (apart from the index). It just did so much stuff right, even the audio was really good for what it was. Great video regardless, keep up the good work!
It's the oculus devkit 1...the begin of all PCVR
that would be my 3rd pick but it did do more then people give it credit for
@@shalomnin my 4rd would be psvr
@someone12388 4rd?
@someone12388 💀💀💀
I remeber when I first tried vr in 2018 and it was on an HTC vive in a gaming place and I thought it was the coolest thing too ever exist.
in my opinion, the oculus quest 1. it shows that vr doesn't need to be expensive and clunky. it set the road for the quest 2, 3 and the Pico headsets. as well as the vision pro. some of the most best known headsets of all-time.
I am nostalgic for the htc vive
i had the vive (still do but tracking is broken prob lighthouse broken) and one thing i really liked about it is the oled screen, ive seen that they are going to make psvr2 work with pc and if it works perfect i might have to get one even though i already have a quest 2, its also super cool having seen how far vr has come especially the clarity gained from the higher resolutions we have now
Quest 2 is king tho🤯
Facts quest 3 is also goated
Quest 3*

These headsets are still great for its price & year. Sure it might be outdated, but if you can get hands on it under 200 bucks or less, its an steal deal even JUST for its base stations.
Controllers are like Nokia, you'll have an hole in a wall but controller will be barely scratched.
Sure, modern headsets don't need basestations, but try to play with them in dark room with no light.
I just found out that you could light up the arrow in The Lab...
Also HTC Vive videos is what made me buy phone VR in 2018. Almost a year ago i found it and fell in love with VR, buying Quest 2 and soon 3.
Google cardboard was the most important stepping stone
Yeah it started the popularity of standalone headsets, even though it itself was shit
This guy needs more recognition
Wow, so releases od Rift CV1 and Vive had an only 8 days difference
9:40 Rift had an entire XBOX GAMEPAD with it? Wow
Underrated.
I would say the third most important Vr is the first quest cuase it’s what started the whole standalone headset thing
I said the DK1. I think it shaped PCVR As it is.
Good video
He has 2.4k subs and I clicked on this vid when it had 2.4k views

Lmao i still have the original htc vive, it looks something straight out of mad max because of all the things that broke and i had to DIY fix with no proper tools. Atleast i upgraded to the index knuckles because the wands are absolute filth.
I still don't understand how people are able to use their HTC VIVE/stand its low resolution at this day and age? I bought one instead of Quest 2 on its release in 2020, therefore found myself with Pico 4 last year (Sold HTC VIVE before that for same price I bought it for, I think it was 300ish USD by my country's standards)
@@danvex_ Im still waiting for the index 2 thats why🥲
@@mermaskte5550 Ah, I see.. Well, that's genuinely impressive, given people can spend such a long time to wait for something new. Unsure whether you're aware of Bigscreen Beyond or not - but I'll just throw it out there in case it peaks your interest as possibly the next VR HMD (Personally - thrilled). Albeit if you know about it - I don't wonder, as most people don't prefer it over other HMDs because there's no really huge innovations despite its weight
@@danvex_ I've thought about getting the bigscreen beyond but its almost impossible to officially get one where i live and i've been waiting way too long for the index 2 so i dont want to get a bigscreen beyond and like 2 weeks later they announce the index 2
@@mermaskte5550 Oh, dang.. What's the source about Index 2, if you don't mind sharing? (Just name the site and name article as YT most likely blocks the links)
PSVR2
The early ocukus would have been not this stupid thing with its sword controllers even though og rift 4 sensors and the touch controllers were way better then this thing

this is a really good video and I think that you make really good content for your channel size, but imo I think the pink background is kind of ugly, not trying to be rude, it would like fine but I suggest you choose a different shade.
i tried a new pink but I can see how it can be uneasy on the eyes, do you have any ideas?
