    Speed = power x strength. Would recommend just sprinting to get faster also gym work. Squat jumps, box jumps, leg presses with resistance. Also resistance bands will be a good purchase for anyone wanting to improve running technique and speed. Also would recommend filming yourself sprinting and look at your technique, compare it to a sprinters technique and practice the same movements as the sprinter :)

Some people say that how fast you are is not able to be changed, or "you're either born slow or fast". This is partly true, but to an extent you can change it. Remember, being fit in general is also key. Follow your dreams people, but work for them!

    I use the ladder to increase my step frequency? I dunno if that makes any sense, like I can take more steps when I need to while dribbling

    • @QWERTY-vl4ur
      @QWERTY-vl4ur Před 5 lety +1

      Speed ladder is more of a footwork speed drill and yeah step frequency too, but explosiveness as Matt said can improve your speed and acceleration while dribbling and changing directions, because you need to change directions while dribbling not one straight direction. These drills Matt said makes you more like to change directions quicker and go off the ground with more force. You could Improve your speed like all those footwork, speed acceleration in 2 sessions in a day because you need rest. I suggest doing Lunges, squats, Lateral bounds, single leg lateral bounds for explosiveness or speed, and like the speed ladder for footwork improvement and increase in step frequency. Footwork drills and step frequency can be improved by speed ladder drills, quick feet around a ball both directions 20 secs, freestyle footwork 3x30 seconds to improve your footwork. Don't forget long and short distance shuttle runs with the ball and without.
