Hey Kaza Marie. tl:dr at the bottom. Are you familiar with Bicolline? It's the largest LARP in North America, it's up North in Québec, Canada (i'm Québecois myself, so i live nearby (well, it's still 2 hours...)). It's main event and the one it's most well known for is the Grand Battle of Bicolline. It welcomes over 2500 players and more are joining each year. Basically, you go there a monday and sign up (it's advised to sign up in advance though) and you live on the ground of your guild, or in the town if you own/build a house there. If you don't, there's a camping ground. All medieval though, no plastic tent there. You live there for a week, in complete medieval immersion. There's no character sheets, abilities and such; you get what you see. So there's no magic, and monsters are super realistic (there's ents as tall as pines that are actual people in costumes). There's alot of activities along the way, so you're never bored, and there's no way you can see everything there is to see in the whole week. At the end of the week, on Sunday, is the great battle; the whole day, over 2500 people in two armies fight for geopolitical control. It's an actual battle, with actual armor (obviously with foam weapons though). The ground shakes when an army charges. There's that particular smell of battle that can't be described. Anyway, i plan to go there with friends, but i don't quite have an idea of what to bring exept my weapons costumes etc. as well as food and medication. What do you suggest i bring on this week-long adventure? TL;DR Bicolline is awesome, it's a massive (2k+ peeps) that lasts for a week. you live there like medieval people lived. Mexican tomatoes. The best tomatoes. Did you know tomatoes used to be so soft just touching them would squeeze all the juices out. Nowadays, with all the gene and selection done, tomatoes are fairly hard. :/ I remember when I was little in Germany, it was never possible to hold a tomato with 2 fingers. That's why they were used to throw... but today, they fall on my kitchen table and nothing happens to them... Ok. That's not LARP related... BUT, interesting fact :D oh and tomatoes are a fruit and vegetable :O
1) get a scabbard. 2) dont use both swords. 3) change your black leather (or is it even leather?) with thick brown leather. 4) hide the fact that your ears arent real, with make up. 5) if you have to use this belt, change the way you bind it (sorry, i dont know what other word would be good explanation for this, im not english), let it point straight downwards.

Because I am 13, and have gotten in contact with them, and want to be an Amani elf, a culture of elves that broke away from the Quentari and became their own race of elves. Or I think that's it, I haven't read the internet handbook that they sent me.
Is it ok to bring dogs or other animals like so it's something that I would like to know before going to my first larp I want to have a character with a deep connection with animals and wanted her to have an animal companion like I do irl
no not really because it can be a danger to other people because if the dog sees people fighting it might try and join in and attack them and it is also a responsibility
I agree with Connor, and people may have allergies. The whole game is pretend, so either pretend you have one or form friendships with wolf and feline characters - this will help show your affinity with nature and develop your character further.

Perhaps its actually something to do with keeping those ears straight in a high wind! I must admit to preferring the more subdued Tolkien inspired upward curving pointed ears to these more anime derived things. Still if you like them.

is there a age that you have to be to enter
Some LARPs will allow you to play as early as 12, however a lot of the LARPs that I attend are 18+ due to adult subject matter.
