I got the Feelworld for Christmas so it's nice to know it has some positives. I can live with the negatives for now at my current level. I agree that the middle one feels a little "should i just save up".

5:12 Feelworld F6 Plus ($170-225) offers the features you mentioned were lacking against the SmallHD ($600): touch screen, 180 rotate, though can set a touch screen button to H/V Flip. Still cheaper build quality and screen menus though.

I went with the Shinbo for my GH5. The only thing I feel like I will miss is the 4k 10bit 60p. Otherwise, its lighter, uses less batteries and about half the price when factoring in the hard drive. I have a solid PC and can work with GH5 stuff for quite a while before it slows down. If that happens, Davinci Resolve has a wonderful trans-code option that solve that. I even have a dedicated SSD just for that purpose. With this workflow, I get to shoot in GOP, take up less long term storage, while saving weight and money. I just wont get to shoot HLG at 60p.

Thanks for the video man - super helpful info! I have a cheap monitor now similar to your Feelworld - cheap and does the job when you need a screen to check focus and for when I use it when I want to shoot top-down shots and I can't see the back of the camera. I also use it for a screen to see when I'm filming myself. I had been tempted to get the Ninja 5, but it seems with my Sony a7iii, it doesn't really unlock anything else - it still shoots 4k24 8bit even through the Ninja, so not that much benefit for me in that area.

Hey Scott, I've been looking at getting a Feelworld monitor, the description says it supports 4k 30fps. I was wondering, does it show 60fps footage and just downsamples it to 30 or does it just not respond. Also if you're filming in 120/180fps at 1080?
I played with a monitor ages ago that only had 1080p input and as soon as you ran out 4k or a higher frame rate, it didn't like it and wouldn't respond.

I'd go with the SmallHD Focus or the Atomos Shinobi (I haven't used the Shinobi but it's basically a trimmed down version of the Ninja V, without the loud fan. It does still have vent ports on it). The Feelworld is great if you are on a budget. Having touch functionality makes all the difference for me when it comes to using the advanced functions a field monitor provides. The Ninja V is great but is probably the least durable of the monitors due to the fan vent and SSD port.

I have a problem with 6k anamorphic on the GH5, It basically shows the image but when I hit the record button the screen goes black until I stop the recording, do you have the same problem with those monitors?

Hi Dave, thanks for watching. I haven't done any 6k anamorphic shooting with the GH5 or these monitors so I'm not 100% sure. My only suggestions are to ensure your HDMI cable is fast enough to handle the data rate and ensure the monitors are compatible with 6k anamorphic. Good luck!

      @@ScottBell That's the hard part 😂
I've tried with a certified 8k 2.1 HDMI cable, so it's the monitor's fault, but it seems like all monitors I find can show a maximum of 4096x2160
So I can only buy an External recorder i guess 😭
      Thanks anyways 😎

@@davelonghi8229 Have you tried forcing the single over HDMI to 1080p (unless you are recording) to see if that helps? I've found some monitors don't properly detect the signal resolution and as a result can't display the image correctly.

One feature that I’d like to see implemented in these monitors is a quick way to have them go dark. I shoot a lot of concerts, live theatre and dance shows. After setting up the camera and starting the recording, I don’t need to see the monitor, and depending where it’s placed, it can be very distracting for the audience. These are monitors that are also recording, so I can’t turn them off. I have to cover them or point them so that the audience can’t see.

Thanks for watching. With Atomos products you can set it to turn the screen off when you lock the screen. Super handy feature as it quickly turns back on when you press the power button again without requiring a full bootup cycle.

I prefer not to buy the FEELWORLD monitor as I do not want to support the Chinese Communist party freedom-suppression in Hong Kong, and their limiting American and other foreign businesses free speech in speaking out against these and other forms of aggressions . There are plenty of high quality and non-expensive alternatives to FEELWORLD products.
