Your legs are the horsepower, and your waist is the torque.
I hope you can really benefit from this routine, the workout starts around 3:20
Man just wanted to say you and your videos changed my life. I always played football and basketball in school, but always had a deep passion for boxing. I started doing boxing workouts and living the boxers life to get in shape and it's helped me a ton. Great stress reliever.
+jaland Barton wicked! Thx bro
JT Van V love your videos but this workout is hell. No fun lol.
JT! awesome vid, im defenitely trying this out today, my legs left me last sunday in sparring.
I´ve been following you for a while now and completely love your knowledge and understanding of the sport.
I´ve shifted from Muay Thai to pure boxing for now and really everything i take to the gym is what i learn from you and what I see from my favorite boxers/fighters, at the gym they dont really "teach", even tho have been sparring with some amateur guys and recently a pro.
Do you have any kind of conditioning/streght (maybe gym?)/tecnique regime or "program" for guys like me that like to keep ready, love boxing and sparr maybe 3 times a month or so? I have not been able to develope one for myself, its super hard.
Thanks a lot, you make a diference for the boxing community brother.
Sigh.. it would be a long post man haha.
I did MT for years (still love it dont get me wrong) and i just wanted to get to know boxing and it really caught me, i´ve been boxing for a year know on and of the gym.
Great stuff, coach! I also love doing 3x30 seconds of shadowboxing in a low squats stance, after doing jump squats/lunges -- KILLER! p.s. Philly is great fighter's city ;)
+fightTIPS yeah I remember your awesome video on that! Thx bro
fightTIPS you should do a shout out to this dude. You and JT are two of of the best boxing channels on CZcams.
Both of you guys should do a collaboration because you guys are really REALLY one of the best boxing youtubers out there. Maybe even do a friendly sparring session to get an idea of the skill level you guys are in.
@RichieValenz
He does it all bud
Shane Hope you, PS, Wonderboy, Phil Daru, and Sylvie make a collab video.. That would be superb.. Thanks for the knowledge brother.. God Bless
Glad I saw this. I'm a 50 year old beginner, went to the (boxing) gym today for the 1st time today, & knocked myself off balance while trying to move & strike on the heavy bag. Now I know, it was because of a lack of stability/balance, AND, shoddy footwork. Already a subscriber to you, "fightTIPS", & Nate Bower, so now I have an endless supply of good, practical training tips that should keep me engaged in fighting for a LONG time. Peace & blessings...
Can't box without balance. Balance comes from strength and stability. This exercise covers all those bases PLUS it help prevent injury. Thanks JT. Huge fan. 💫⚡️
Wow yu can tell u have put a lot of time into your craft. U have analysed every bit of boxing. Well done
This was tough! I'll be adding this to my boxing routine.
I remember you recommended me to do this stuff in an email. It reeally helped. Great stuff. Thanks again :)
Hi, Jason. I still teach my boxing students this Static Posture routine after two years of learning it from you. It is so effective! Hard but enjoyable over time. Thank you so much 🥊🥊🥊
That's awesome! I still do these exercises myself or versions of them. Stability and stamina in position are key!
Great video again, my dude. I learn so much from you, even tho i practice MMA. Thanks a lot
I thought this seemed tough but I started doing the first one. 4-5 months now and it feels strong, I'm glad I've been doing it. Came back to the video to get some more tips and see I've only been doing part 1 out of 4. Oh well, the squatting one feels great compared to the bent leg ones. Thanks coach!
Man I've been watching your vids for a long time..you have helped me come a long way in training. Im thinking about trying some small tournaments again here soon..your vids along with Shane fazen vids from fight tips are my go to when I have questions. Thanks for all the help dude, much appreciated.
Tight work on the growth of your channel! I'm a huge fan of boxing so im happy a source people can refer to. Gratz and keep up the great work!

We do this type of training in our Taekwondo classes. You are spot on
Yessir my old students hated this to the point i wouldn't even do push ups for punishment middle stance is wayyyyy worse 😂
Informative and educational . What's not to love ! Thank you ! 🙏🏾
Wellington New Zealand, Bro... these Videos are awesome for us beginners
This is exactly what I needed. I am on day #2 of 60. Major weakness of mine. Great content as always.
I'm in.
I love a challenge
Great info Coach.
Appreciate the detail/focus/concepts in the videos. Chicago!
Such a critical part of training. Wish I had found your channel sooner when you were still traveling! Would love to train with you 👊🏽 Thank you Coach JT!
Awesome video...Thank you so much!
This is exactly what I was looking for. Cheers JT
Killer workout. I'm definitely going to do it everyday. I can't wait for the better balance during training. Cheers mate.
Just tried this, it's a killer, but I could feel my legs working. Thanks coach, appreciate it :)
We'd be very happy to have you here in Montreal
This video is just I've been looking for. Good job captain.
Going to add this to the end of my boxing workouts. I'm excited to try it out!
Great video,Being a martial arts/boxer I can totally appreciate this video. Well put together. Well spoken. I'm bite'n dis coach 💥🥊😉
Thanks for making these videos Man - Good to get a bit extra improvement after normal routine.
Great video! Yoga has similar poses for stance and equilibrium. It was hard but doable.
Thank you!
Thank you for the workout, I’ll be including it for sure in my routine
Harder than it looks. Great stuff
That great help for me, always had problem with my stance. Thank you very much!
This workout not only helped with my boxing but also in my wrestling!
Really grateful for this stuff coach! The workouts are challenging but I will do my best !
Great lesson !
Another great video keep up the good work
Glad you talked about stability stances related to traditional martial arts. So many people trash talk traditional stances because they dont understand them.
Hurts so good. Thanks :)
I did that a lot when training in martial arts and loved it. When I switched to boxing and muay thai I didn't know how to put it to use. Now I know, thanks coach.
Hey thanks, this is what I need
Did the workout at the same time and it was killer. Will def be adding to the routine. Thanks!
Yes, good info!!
Excellent instruction. Like always.
I may be a little late to the party but THANK YOU FOR THIS. Thank you for all your videos, love your channel!
Toronto guy teaching in London, UK. That's awesome.
Great stuff. Being doing this, footwork and corrective stretches to help lay solid foundation in my training . And ice baths after long bike rides which I do 3 times a week
This was way harder than I imagined. I'll add this to my dailies. Just a few extra minutes. Love it!!
Hey man I love your videos and I love what your doing. The videos have been very helpful to me in my boxing development. I would love for u to do a workout in Seattle
Killer, thank you.
I will be using this today for my boxing team
Thanks for the video brother i will try this 👍👍👍
Thank you for this. I’ve transferred from Muay Thai and the lower stance has been tiring on my legs. I’m sure this will be a big help along with planks.
I just came across this routine, and did it successfully, but yes, it’s hard. What’s interesting is I started in martial arts at about 14, reading a paperback book on Kung Fu, and this was one of the first things taught (they called it the “horse stance”.). I’m at 62 now, almost forgot about it, and hard to believe I can still do it. But I will now incorporate it into my training again everyday. Thank you for posting this!
got my teammate in the gym to do this with me today after our monday conditioning circuits. we will both be adding this to our routines as much as we can. (i myself considered this day 1 of trying to do this everyday for the next 30 days!) thanks for the insight!
+Kathreen Sterling awesome!
This is a great routine. If you make it to Philly, check out York, PA, about 1.5 hrs west of philly. We have some great young boxers here who would really benefit from your experience. We may not have any fancy gyms here but we're putting in work every day! Youre a natural coach, thanks and keep the vids coming.
I like to watch and 😁👊👊👍 re-watch these precision striking videos!
Great stuff as always. Going to implement this into my training tomorrow onwards. Hope you can make it to Bangalore, India someday coach!
Ima incorporate This into my workout for sure
Love the music man, vids get better every time. Love your work
Nice ideas! I'been intercaling plank and side plank on the rests, so you train core when resting legs : )
Insightful and intuitive as always. Great piece of discipline for those fibres !
That's some good stuff right here
Another great vid!
Great video. My stability in boxing sucks. I will definitely try this out!
Love the hayabusa fight shorts. You must be a UFC fan too. I have a pair of metal mulisha shorts
Hi you're a genius thank you so much and much respect from UK. I'm a beginner and your videos are very helpful. I have subscribed to you and I definitely will benefit from this. Big thanks.
I love that,, been doing it for the last 18yrs. It isn't easy,,, brutal on the vastus medialis/vastus lateralis/ gluteus medius,as well as the hams & quads... especially after running a few laps, then running backwards for a lap... Can't go without the legs tho... condition...condition...condition...(It almost brings ya to tears sometimes)
Subscribed :) nice tutorials thank you.
BROOOO!!! If you come to philly, you have to stop through Pittsburgh! It'd be an honor to train under you for a min man
If you make a seminar in mtl i will definately be there jt , i've learned so much from your videos it would be awesome to meet you , great video again
This is great stuff! Sure sucks doing it, but the application is real!
Another great vid!🙌🏽
Definitely you have to do a seminar in Montreal JT!
Nice tip coach!
1up for Montreal yes please!
Thanks from France !
Great way to zero in on weak links in the kinetic chain. For lower body my knees.. Also my muscular endurance needs work. Despite being female, my upper body is stronger, more stable etc. I've been wanting to get into static posing for definition like bodybuilders. Doing these moves may just give me some of that, and most importantly stability and better function now and if consistant, thruout my mature years. Thanks JT. You are a great online mentor !
Aint the physical life great!?!
+Michele Kurlan thanks for sharing your experience and feedback
JT Van V JT
I forgot to mention, as well as say thx for reminding us that there is a process in building a body and that it starts with STABILIY..strength and then power follow. Despite having been NASM cert personal trainer for some years, I too need reminders and the creativity, brainpower and expertise of other trainers in various disciplines. Which I'm immersed in lately.
Life is for learning..there are some fabulous, helpful "coaches" online for that! U B 1 of em!
Hope you teach in SoCal soon. Ciao
Thank you coach😊
Very good for stance
LOL!!! A lot of people don't like doing this training but it's very beneficial. I like your shoes.
I can guarantee you, this is probably one of the best leg workouts you will ever do
Brutal. I thought leg endurance was my strength! How wrong I was. Thanks coach.
Also - come to Birmingham, uk. Would be awesome to train with you!
There are diffrent forms of edurance
Impressive.
you just made a shaolin monk out of me with that squat hands anywhere.Keep it up coach!
Coach, please do a seminar in Phoenix, AZ!!!
Thanks
Come to London again, I was on holiday so missed your August seminar👊🏼👊🏼
+Paul Hurst I'll be back for sure
Great video JT! This is great example of how "traditional martial arts" training can be used in modern combat sports without any mystic bullshit that often surrounds it. Keep up the good work and thank you!
Ik this post old but what's ur boxing name
great video
You’re gonna create monsters JT
Will travel to a seminar on the US east coast....but ORLANDO....if Hurricane Irma doesn't blow us off the map this weekend. Thanks for all your great content!
Never mind London, come to Manchester a real fight City!! We love to see you up here!
London is a real fight city. London shootfighters makes every other gym in the UK seem like a social club
Sam W ur mad mate
I have knee arthritis and knee replacement, and i hold a static yoga warrior pose.. Sounds like wimpy stuff, but is' very difficult as you hold it longer and longer. You end up vibrating and sore. It works.
Great video as always, thank you so much JT
Love your videos JT Van TV
Hey man let us know when you come to San Diego. I go to Bound Boxing Academy out here. Juan Medina is the head trainer there. Thanks for all the vids
Good stuff...
