I saw her perform this live in 1968 in a small club which was just a warehouse in Philly called the Electric Factory with Big Brother and the Holding Company. The club was so packed with people that you couldn't move. She was mesmerizing. She just gave her whole soul to her music.

Wow.... that amazing, wish I was there ✌😎
I've been watching the new Queen of Soul ( Janice 2.0 if you will ) Beth Hart !
This lady is unbelievable, she can do it all & like Janice has her own demons but Beth fought them & has made it back 😇🎙
Check-out: Beth Hart - Am I The One ( Live at Paradiso ) she wrote this song at age 17
It's a live performance you will never forget... just wild, raw & out there holding nothing back !
Since then she is a bit more reformed but still gives 200%
( kinda reminds me of Mark Farner of GFR in that way )
      More great songs from Beth...
Caught Out In The Rain ( Live at Royal Albert Hall )
      I'd Rather Go Blind
      I'll Take Care Of You
      Close To My Fire
      Joy
Something Got A Hold On Me
Nutbush City Limits ( Better than Tina 😉 )
Leave The Light On ( Live at the Bing Lounge )
( this one will pull at your heartstrings ❤ )
Also anything with Beth & Joe Bonamassa : those two together... Magic 😇🎙 😎🎸
There last album... Black Coffee has covers of great Classic Soul & Blues tunes !
This lady is a throwback to the great Nightclub performers of the 30's - 50's she puts every ounce of energy into her performance.... once you see her perform you will be hooked !
Thank you for the message: Stay safe & healthy ... keep rockin' ✌😎

just a day or 2 ago i watched someone else do a reaction to janis joplin doing another song, and they said pretty much the same thing. they also mentioned that they love the imperfections in her voice and that they thought that's exactly what made her such a great singer. i guess i'd never thought about it, because i grew up with her and my thinking had always been kinda that she has a great voice, is such a great singer, and that'a just the way things are. i love seeing these songs through someone else's eyes so i can get a new perspective.

I am so loving your reactions‼️. Watched some of your SRV and those made me subscribe. I recently watched your reaction to Janis at Monterey Pop, Ball and Chain. I loved your awe and appreciation for my girl. I got to see her in person and that is life transforming! You guys would have fit right in back in the day and that is a compliment from one that was there. You guys really get it and appreciate it as well. ✌️🦋 I know I was one who asked you to do Summertime so it made my day to see this pop up! And yes letting your heart and soul flow through your music is what people respond to. You need the technical skill to excel but then let it loose. Think Stevie Ray 🎸🎶‼️

This song is just Janis at one of her very best, Little Girl Blue is in that category also. Not that Janis didn’t open her mouth to sing without the punched in the gut effect that goes with it. 100% agree. Janis never stepped on stage when she didn’t put it all out there.

No one like Janis. A member of the infamous "27 club", along with Jimi Hendrix, and Jim Morrison of The Doors. That is so weird. All were superstars of Rock and Roll at the same time, and ended up
dead at age 27. All three are Legends of Rock/Blues.
