Something about Key making a Visual Novel that happens to be a Gacha Game just sounds really weird doesn't it?
Heaven Burns Red is one of Key's latest works to come out this year. It's out free to play on most platforms, and honestly is surprisingly good despite my initial reservations, especially considering Gacha games. It's got tons of ups and downs, all of which I'll cover here.

Ah, this game. I played the prologue when it first came out and liked it, but didn't continue with it because I'm terrible at sticking with phone games for long. Now that I know it's on steam, I'll try jumping back into it.
As long as you search up the Japanese name you'll find it. ヘブンバーンズレッド
Oh a bonus on why they made it a Online Gacha Game:
Visual Novels just dont make the money it used to. Most VN companies, especially non-indie non-eroge kinds, need more then just a Game to Succeed and Support the Company now a days, especially if they are bigger companies. Its why everyone makes full on video games more or support with Anime and other stuff. Unless they aim to be truly small and indie like Fata Morgana Devs, Makura/Kero-Q and the Hentai Prisoner Guys.
Hell why do you think Aquaplus, Nitro+ and Type Moon all have Gacha Games now a days? Its the fastest way to keep stable profits. Even companies like AliceSoft mentions they have to go this route to survive according to TADA in his Blog.
Hell FGO and Type Moon more or less proved to the entire Genre that you can tell a deep emotional stories in Gacha Games, by basically breaking the mold as well and showing what can be done with the genre. And Gacha only companies like Mihoyo and Yostar shown how you can tell stories with the genre with limited format.
Shits a business, you need money to support yourself, or else you go out of business. Its just what it is.
Well, sucks to live at these times.
Fun fact, Jun Maeda the person who wrote this game, wanted to be musical composer for video games before he became extremely succesful as an scenario writer.
It seems that this game is allowing him to fulfill that dream as he is the composer for most of the songs.
Genuinely my favorite musical artist
This 100% seems like my kind of jam, but unfortunately I'm very illiterate and screen translation for things that isn't text isn't really an option for iOS, to my understanding. I've only read Chapter 1 since it was translated in a document somewhere, but I definitely liked what I saw. Hopefully someday I'll be able to watch the longer spoiler video and actually give some actual thoughts on it.
If I just want to read the story and don't want to do a lot of grinding, how much will it cost me?
I'm reluctant to start the game, to not be invested and end up having to waste a lot of money?
“Characters keep repeating the same joke.” My guy, do you remember back in Kanon where all the five heroines kept repeating their same speech quirk?
Never did got around to playing Kanon.
Reroll Seira for easy mode friends
Would there be a new visual novel primer video that focuses about reviews gameplay heavily vns?
There won't be any visual novel primers perse, but I'll probably do videos talking about gameplay heavy VN's in the future.
@@Zyraizo yay, thats good to know
sad that it's gacha, loopers seemed fun and I'm excited for the key VN by Romeo Tanaka, I absolutely loved his writing in rewrite and Humanity has declined
Ah, your talking about Tsui no Stella right? I remember seeing something about that coming out recently.
@@Zyraizo probably that yeah
Key announced a few short projects a year or two ago by different writers
Loopers by Ryukishi ended up being a sweet short read with Fantastic art
But I've been eyeing the Romeo Tanaka one since announcement
FGO Walked So that Mobile Gacha Visual Novels as a Genre can Run.
I actually had planned on doing a FGO and GBF video way back in the day, never got around to it though.
