Experimental, brave, he was a musican genious....I know the beatles, I know The rolling Stones, but I listen to Adam Ant, OMD, Depeche Mode and Co. from the 80s
Adam was the best with The Ants...outstanding song and video. Not to mention the fact that Adam is just one example of why men should wear makeup..lol.
It’s both and he’s brilliant. No one can pull off lipgloss like him in Stand and Deliver... Now if “androgyny” looked more like that I’d be down... he is still just the best looking guy and funny and smart... and he’s taken good care of himself. I’m glad he had a good friend in Marco all those years. He is a gorgeous man with a good heart!
He was pure theatre, and he did it well, I remember when he first came on the music scene, you couldn’t go in to a pub “going back when we had real DJs” without hearing the likes of Adam and his Antz, plus some real good sounds from that era..

I feel the same about the passing of time since this song was released, Eric - only seems like the other day... I was seventeen in nineteen eighty when Adam and the Ants became very successful in the pop charts for an all too brief period of glory, but songs like this stay in my memory forever, as pure nostalgia for youth.

1980 on #mymusicalroadto50 Adam And The Ants - Kings Of The Wild Frontier It’s hard to describe now how young and fresh Adam and the Ants were in 1980. The album ‘Kings of the Wild Frontier’ was on my wish list for ages but I never got the chance at the time to get a copy. My eldest sister may have had it but I wasn’t allowed to touch those. These guys were the bomb. As an young latina 7th grader growing up in Echo Park, I was totally taken by this music!!
I love how Adam ant lets the drums be so loud in his songs. You knows it’s a Adam ant song when you can hear those drums. This guy is just on another level.
I still remember but i was there from the beginning.
Same here. Same him a couple of years and and he's still got it. Seem him live if you get the chance, you won't regret it
Experimental, brave, he was a musican genious....I know the beatles, I know The rolling Stones, but I listen to Adam Ant, OMD, Depeche Mode and Co. from the 80s
wish i could turn the clock back 30 years, i would enjoy the 80 twice as much as i did and do now, just fab stuff
+the faceman It's taken me 25 years to realize how great British pop music was in the first half of the 80's.
enjoy it now, its great music
I lived it and nothing compares
He was “original”nothing like him before existed he selected little bits of what he liked and put them together in a totally amazing way! ❤️
Totally I agree with you!!!
God, that Barundi beat was so freaking killer. Loved these guys. Brings back great memories..
I love it since 1980. It is actually influenced by the rhythm of Native Americans. Great Job.
And the burundi beats !!!
This album was on repeat and repeat ant repeat at my house in 1983
Adam was the best with The Ants...outstanding song and video. Not to mention the fact that Adam is just one example of why men should wear makeup..lol.
It's facepaint not make-up
@@homelesshannah50 he has an Apache war stripe...but he's also wearing eyeliner, eyeshadow, and mascara. And Lisa's right!
It’s warpaint
It’s both and he’s brilliant. No one can pull off lipgloss like him in Stand and Deliver... Now if “androgyny” looked more like that I’d be down... he is still just the best looking guy and funny and smart... and he’s taken good care of himself. I’m glad he had a good friend in Marco all those years. He is a gorgeous man with a good heart!
I do wear make up and I'm straight nothing wrong with it
Best Vinyl I Ever Bought! Of course, it twas my first Record!!!!
He was pure theatre, and he did it well, I remember when he first came on the music scene, you couldn’t go in to a pub “going back when we had real DJs” without hearing the likes of Adam and his Antz, plus some real good sounds from that era..
still Brillient and Alive in 2017. so amazing. even the clothing works now again. prescient. ahead of its time...
Its 2016.
LOL, good point! xD
Still get goosebumps today when I play this
Why doesn't Adam Ant get the recognition he deserves? Musical genius.

Too handsome maybe ? And Hate by the music press. The press darlings...
Cooler than a bottle on ice.Timeless ..forevermore..💋😘♥️😘💋
My parents have had me listening to this since I was a baby! Adam and the Ants were just in my hometown last night and did a concert. I so wish I could've gone. My parents went and said it was spectacular! My mom said Adam is still hot! ;)
36 years since this masterpiece was released....Don't seem like two minutes to me!!!
I feel the same about the passing of time since this song was released, Eric - only seems like the other day... I was seventeen in nineteen eighty when Adam and the Ants became very successful in the pop charts for an all too brief period of glory, but songs like this stay in my memory forever, as pure nostalgia for youth.
Kieran O'Driscoll Very well said. I was 15 back then; great, great times and I still love listening to stuff from this era!
Eric thank you very much for your comments. We are of the same generation it seems.
Kieran O'Driscoll Indeed, your taste is very good mate.
We both have good taste.
2019 still one of the best tracks ever

Wore my ant logo sew on patch with pride back in 81,in a class full of motorhead fans ,now thats dedication
Two first albums I ever bought, Blondie parallel lines and Adam and the Ants Kings of the Wild Frontier. The flippin business.
On this day in 1981 {March 8th} "Kings of the Wild Frontier" by Adam and the Ants peaked at #2 {for 1 week} on the United Kingdom's Official Top 75 Singles chart, the week it was at #2, the #1 record for that week was "Jealous Guy" by Roxy Music...
Between 1980 and 1995 Adam Ant had twenty three records on the UK Singles charts, ten made the Top 10 with three* reaching #1, "Stand & Deliver" for five weeks in 1981, "Prince Charming" for four weeks in 1981, and "Goody Two Shoes" for two weeks in 1982...
His first twelve charted records were under the name, 'Adam and the Ants'...
Adam Ant, born Stuart Leslie Goddard, celebrated his 65th birthday four months ago on November 3rd, 2019...
* He just missed having two more #1 records when his "Antmusic" {1981} and "Kings of the Wild Frontier" {1981} both peaked at #2...
And from the 'For What It's Worth' department, the remainder of the UK Top 10 on March 8th, 1981:
At #3."Shaddup You Face" by Joe Dolce
#4. "Vienna" by Ultravox
#5. "(Do) The Hucklebuck" by Coast to Coast
#6. "Kids In America" by Kim Wilde
#7. "This Old House": by Shakin' Stevens
#8. "Southern Freeez" by Freeez
#9. "Something 'Bout You Baby I Like" by Status Quo
#10. "St. Valentine's Day Massacre (EP)" by Motorhead/Girlschool

Adam Ant is a creative genius.
Amen 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 TO That One!
This was the 1st album I heard, that wasn't my parents, my big cousin was constantly playing it every time I was in his house, Im a 72 child, This album, the songs and the double drums will always stay with me
My favorite Adam and Ants album
African Barundi beat and Vivienne Westwood, thank you. ❤️ Stuart, you are a legend yourself! 😎❤️
Yep! Those Burundi double drums are phenomenal
Someone once said that the most boring thing a music video can be is just watching the band perform. 99.9% of this time this is true. But just watching THESE guys perform is so so so much more interesting than their staged videos like Prince Charming and Stand and Deliver.
Total love & thanks to Adam for making the world less magnolia. We salute you!! WE ARE THE FAMILY!!....
Adam and the Ants.... Absolute F........G EPIC.... ❤😊
What a cool song--such tribal drumming too! Love it! Eighties music was/is so rad.
That is a great name what country are you from
DAD HERE I lived in the '70s and early '80 and I can confirm the life certainly wasn't 'rad' and although the music reflected it, the mainstream didn't
Vitreous Lamella I'm an old man myself (42), and I absolutely love Adam & the Ants. That percussion section he had is nothing short of hypnotic. Go Eighties...
Vitreous Lamella Adam and the Ants were from the tail end of the 70s...their biggest hits came in 80 and 81 but, in truth, they did not really reflect the 80s at all
hugodrax71 I agree. They were kind of stand alone back then.
Literally every time I hear this song I can’t help but move to it !! So addictive Adam you are a true legend !!! 💜🐜🇬🇧💙☠️🥰🔥💯 music just isn’t like this anymore sadly
Still good 40 years later...
The Addicts and Adam and the Ants give me such similar vibes. Love them both.
Fucking fantastic
Once an Ant girl always one been big fan for 40 years I'm currently dancing to this in garden. ADAM is unique one of a kind musically I got my mum into him she still played his greatest hits to day she died aged 77. She would have loved his concert in November 2019 I went too I had tears when the drumming to this started this is my all time favourite song of anything I've ever heard had goosebumps
Been jamming to this dude since the early 80's.

Adam And The Ants - Kings Of The Wild Frontier
It’s hard to describe now how young and fresh Adam and the Ants were in 1980.
The album ‘Kings of the Wild Frontier’ was on my wish list for ages but I never got the chance at the time to get a copy.
My eldest sister may have had it but I wasn’t allowed to touch those.
In a years time Adam Ant’s ego was to start its trajectory into oblivion. This was definitely the best time though.
Listening to this again reminds me of that moment they really were the kings.
Remember getting thrown out of an english lesson for painting a white line across my face with tipex. 1st year comp 1979
Awesome. That really did make me laugh out loud. Thanks
Me and a mate got our backsides smacked for painting each others faces in art in 1982
Lol I had the ant logo on my haversack 👍👍🤘🤘
