    For the scarlet 2i2 instead of Scarlet (Focusrite 2i2) I see Analog 1 + 2. There's no way to boost the db on this through the sound properties as the microphone booster is gone. Any help?

      Chiptendo always gain stage directly from the source first. So start with the gain knobs on inputs 1 and 2. Your DAW will have all kinds of gain knobs and most plugins have gain knobs too. If you are using a condenser mic, be sure 48v is pressed in for phantom power.

      I discovered that the reason for my low volume was a defected unit. Since my last comment i upgraded to a 4i4, SM58, Cloudlifter CL-1 with the DT 770 250Ohm. For me this is a really solid set up. Great sound and feedback. All other adjustments are made in FL Studio. It's a lot of fun.

    what if you are using a vst plugin with scarlett ..then what is your input in windows 10.. i only see analog 1+2 focusrite USB audio...but i am not using analog input because nothing is plugged into the 2 ports of the scarlett...the sound is coming from the vst

    • @PhrygianFrogMusicProfessionals
      @PhrygianFrogMusicProfessionals  Před 2 lety

      It sounds like you are using midi with a vst. The sound from the vst needs to output to your audio device. There should be a way to set this up in your DAW or in a standalone VST. It is typically in the settings/preferences menu where you can choose an audio device to output to.

    • @PhrygianFrogMusicProfessionals
      @PhrygianFrogMusicProfessionals  Před 4 lety

      I don't have an 18i20, but have worked with them before. I do use OBS with multiple interfaces. The Secret is to set them all to the same bit depth and rate. Windows shared mode usually defaults at 24 bit 44.1kHz, but this depends on the sound card you have. Then, OBS setting for audio has to be exactly the same as your Recording and Playback rates. The 18i20 also has to be the exact same rates.
      I come from the days when you had to have a word clock or master clock to sync everything else up with. Nowadays, you just need to use shared mode on pc and make sure all devices use the exact same bit depths and capture rates. Every system will be different as motherboard and build in sound cards vary.
      I will do a video on my setup in the near future to see if it will help others. Keep in touch and let me know if things works out for you.

Analogue 2 would be the 2nd Mic input on the interface. If it is soft, the input for 1/2 may need to be turned up or if you are using a condenser microphone, you need to turn on 48v (phantom power). However when doing Zoom share computer sound the music is very loud for the person on the other side I'm sharing it with and my guitar not audible. I've tried lowering the volume in Spotify to like, 20% but it means its barely audible for me to hear it enough to stay in time with to play along. I've looked at Windows sound settings and adjusted just about every single volume slider control there is on the system but can't seem to balance the two levels. I use a Focusrite 8i6 and use the analogue ports on the front - 1 is my xlr mic for speaking 2 is my guitar.

      So you could set Focusrite to 24 bit/48 kHz for recording/playback. The BAD news is that Google Chrome keeps defaulting to windows as the output sound device. Phrygian Frog - Music Professionals Thanks for all the help yesterday. When I finally got to take a look last night, it was the world clock that was Locked, so thankfully it wasn’t a big deal. I did come across another issue that has me frustrated. My sample rate is at 512, and I guess that’s a good place to start. For some reason, I don’t have the option to scroll to different sample rates? I can change the speed, and the latency however. Any ideas?

      Audio interfaces are compatible with most all DAWs. You have to find the menu in the DAW which is usually labeled Preferences/Audio Preferences/I&O or something like that. Then you choose your interface and setup the ins and outs. Check out my 3 part Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 Video series as I setup this interface in Studio One in the 3rd video. czcams.com/video/TE2g2qLgZDk/video.html

      I hoped this video helps you in some way. I know that Windows 10 Sound panel is buggy at times, but it is an improvement from the past.

    Settings > Privacy > Microphone .......... For any1 having this issue in 2023, "Allow access to the microphone" is a On/Off option, as dumb as it sounds it actually is
