- Welcome to Yellowjackets Season 2! We FINALLY got our Yellowjackets trailer! We are so close to the show's premiere on March 24th! Today we are going over the Yellowjackets season 2 trailer from Showtime and breaking everything down! There is a lot to discuss now that adult Lottie and adult Van are joining the 2021-2022 timeline with Tai, Misty, Nat and Shauna! Plenty of crazy stuff going on in the adult timeline, but there's exciting stuff in the 1990's timeline too, exciting and mysterious! With the death of Jackie, how will the group fair in their first winter in the wilderness without their team captain? Yes! You are so right about a third timeline! The third timeline seems like it will focus on how they re-integrate into society post rescue. Brilliant!!!
as far as i've heard from creators and theories, i don't believe it will be a full timeline like 96 and present. but they will have scenes after their rescue this season.
At first I assumed it was Jackie they’re all carrying in that last clip bc it reminded me of how Paul Bearers carry coffins. Maybe they’re taking her to her burial location. Whoever it is, they have on Converse chuck taylors. I don’t know if they show a full body shot of her in the season 1 finale but I wanna check!

i can't wait for season 2! i just finished season 1 last week and only watched it because you gave it a stellar review and recommendation. also, i recently watched the younger cast interview for season 2 from Entertainment Weekly and it has me very excited for episodes 2, 6, and 10 since the cast noted those eps!

Just stumbled on your channel and subscribed. Thanks for the great breakdown! I had some thoughts after watching.
1. The Mall- possibly after rescue they took the girls to a hotel to await their parents arrival or make travel plans to get the girls home once they're medically cleared. If they're in the Canadian wilderness, there are probably ski resorts nearby, and they usually have stores and boutiques in the lobby.
2. I think the person on the stake is Javi. He was wearing Chucks and a grey shirt when he went missing. I saw that somewhere else, not my catch, but it made sense to me.
3. Lottie (adult) with blood on her hands is really itching at me. I do not believe she is completely healed, I think her helping others is a way to cope. There could have been a very simple accident that caused someone to bleed and Lottie helped by putting pressure on the wound but seeing her hands bloody in present time the way they were in the wilderness with the bear heart brought her right back into her trauma and undid the progress she made mentally. I am very curious if she went back on the medication she was taking when the plane crashed too.

Also, I don’t know if someone brought this up already, but that scene of the ppl in animal masks looking down, you can see Biscuit the Dog in the top left corner. I think that maybe maybe you were right about these being the adult survivors!
yes and you can see the person on the very left hand side, underneath the robe is wearing that mauve kind of sweat suit that the cult wears.

omgomgomgomgomgomg... so excited for S2 to start!!!!! As usual, loved your synopsis Ash! A few thoughts on things...
1. IDK who is tied to the pole at the end, but can confirm whoever it is is wearing Converse shoes. The treads on the bottom are the same as my vintage "Maddens". Aside from that tidbit, ????????
2. Going back to a discussion from a video you did after the release of the first trailer for S2 about theories of the plane door becoming a door to another shelter, I'm becoming more convinced that was a cave that at least part of the group are going to reside in. It looks like the girl going after coach is foaming at the mouth and it might be an indicator that she has contracted rabies. The vast majority (over 80%) of rabies transmissions to both animals and humans is bats (specifically, the Mexican fruit bat in North America). My theory is that she contracted rabies after finding the cave and being bitten by a bat. Rabies might also explain the behavior of that bear just walked up to Lottie at the cabin in S1? Animals that contract it don't become rabid immediately. The first stage presents more as confusion or senility according to my vet tech friend (who had to recently learn all that to take her exams in CA- she passed! yay!!!) and rapidly deteriorates after that. There seemed to be scenes of the group "hunting" other members of the group in some of the scenes from both trailers too. Maybe they are after the "rabies girl"? They would have to contain or kill her to protect themselves, right? That could be her on the pole?
Anyway, that's all I've got. Looking forward to hearing other people's theories on what's going on in S2!!!!
There will be the 3rd timeline. And it is the adults current day in the better garb and they sacrifice Callie who is pit girl... IMO

I started watching this before I heard you talking about it based on the premise of the show. Then I heard you talk about it. So I decided to watch the rest. I just have to do what I normally do with violence, turn off audio or video or both.
i think you're right about the masked people being Lotties cult/wellness retreat. i don't think that is mistys coat. it looks more like the mauve sweat suits that the cult wears to me. either way, great catch!
For some reason, she doesn't talk about the best part of the trailer, which is when the girls charge from the cabin with weapons raised, Braveheart-style. Who are they fighting?
i heard a lot of theories about this and people thinking there will be two factions of survivors so they assume two groups are fighting each other. but i think it was clever editting. my guess is they get together as a pack to hunt or kill actual animals. i heard theories that they were going after a pack of wolves.
I’m thinking that they won’t be in the wilderness for the entirety of the show.
I'm interested in seeing how Shauna got to be a bit of a head case (as my generation would have called it) and just how she became the way that she did. We do not see her parents so I am guessing that several of the girls may not have had a good type relationship with their parents who have probably done their own "damage" to the girls already. Tai is the only one we saw that had a seemingly good relationship with her parents and I am talking mostly about the "main" characters and not the periphery characters. The same with Misty as well as we have already seen Nat, Lottie and Van's parents.
Do you know what would be REALLY weird is if in the end, it was all a dream of one of the teammates.

I wonder if the shopping mall thing isn’t something they find where they are…they always say it’s not an island and that maybe there’s a town…maybe it’s a ghost town or something that has long been abandoned. Just my thoughts.
I thought it could be an airport terminal, and it could be a scene from when they were rescued and flying home. The shot of Misty being asked questions looks like she’s exiting an airport.
I think it might be a hallucination she’s having since she said she use to steal jeans from TJmaxx….but man if she wonders off finds a store and then doesn’t get help to keep them in the wilderness worshipping her crazy, that would be another form of eff up….wonder if Misty will ever be caught for destroying the black box 🧐

So my cousin actually came up w something i never thought of…what if the bear they ate at the end of the first season was actually Travis’ little brother?!?
At this point they are delusional and kinda falling for weird Lottie’s witchy stuff and the ones that are missing and don’t eat the bear at the moment are Travis, the brother, and Nat since Travis and Nat are looking for the brother who’s been missing since the night before.
Wouldn’t be far off since they all saw Travis as a stag the night before.
Plus to do that little ritual at the end putting the heart into the tree stomp alter thing kinda looked more like a human heart sacrifice.

better than the theory that he ate javi or someone with mushrooms in their blood and that's why he was acting strange. i think it's an interesting theory but at that point, everyone saw the bear, including the people that aren't really with the whole Lottie/AQ thing. i mean even jackie was still there and she saw it. i don't think it was a group hallucination when they went on to cut up tons of meat and bear hyde and stuff.
