This is my second time making a fandom video. I went for only Shameless this time and really put the focus on Lip. I think it's intriguing to watch the dynamic between Frank, Lip and professor Youens slowly crumble apart. Especially since, for a while there, Lip was turning into the person he hated most.

It's pretty cool to see how Frank and Lip are so similar. Both are extremely smart with lots of potential but their horrible past ruined them. Unfortunately Frank failed and Lip will to if he doesn't get his shit together. I really liked the brief moment Lip and Frank spent together after his graduation, If Frank wasn't so messed up they would probably best buds.
They're nothing alike, Frank is not smart and doesn't have a horrible past, nor does Lip. Frank is an alcoholic who only cares about his addiction, Lip is smart and cares about his future, but also about his family, which Frank does not. Lip just gets caught up in all the bullshit going on around him and in his family.
Actually, we don't really know much about Franks past. The only thing we know was that his mother was a drug addict and terrible to Frank. But Frank was smart, if you watch the scene from Monica's funeral and in franks eulogy he mentions something about being in University and how he's been studying a lot or something along those words, which kinda reminded me of Lip.
If you listen to Frank and just the way he talks, he sounds much smarter than basically the majority of the characters, even when he’s drinking lol. Frank is the definition of wasted potential.
Frank met Monica when he was in college. Monica was naked running from some man and asked help from Frank. I think Frank was in a car. I'm not sure about he was in a car or not, but that was how they met. Frank told someone about that.
Furry Broccoli if you listen to the way Frank talks, he is very smart. He’s a master manipulator and knows how to use psychology to get what he wants
Sad to see Lip struggle with alcoholism. He's the moral compass of the family, especially now that Fiona and Debbie have fell off the deep end.

I love Lip, and his downward spiral made me love him even more, he is literally so underappreciated. He's been through so much, he's still trying to get his shit together and no one is there for him. He deserves so much more and better. Mickey and Lip are two of the only characters on this fucking show who deserve so much better. I hope season eight is better for him.
Me too! He's such an underrated character. Everyone always assumes Fiona's been taking care of everyone since they were young, but Lip isn't that much younger, plus he's a boy. I imagine a lot of people told him he was 'the man of the house now' and that he felt a huge sense of responsibility toward his siblings. Plus, he's just so believable. When he fucks up, I get it. The writers do a great job of expanding on Lip's storyline.

Don't forget Mandy, she loved Lip even though he didn't love her and even cheated on her with the girl she was concerned about, then because he didn't love her, she moved away with her abusive boyfriend and then life got worse for her too.
1,000% THIS. Lip and Mickey have always been my favorites. They definitely deserved the best for what they went through, compared to most other characters on the show. Same with Ian, too.

Ikr! He's such a multifaceted, interesting character to look into. His talents and flaws are believable and well-proportioned throughout the show. Watching him stumble and rise and then fall again is honestly so sad. ANYWAY thank you very much for watching and I'm happy the video moved you ^_^

If you don't realize it by now (dont know if you watched season 8) lip is younger version of Frank. Frank is a very intellectual man, you can see it through his conversations...it's just that a female fucked him up and also alcohol. Same thing with lip. he was alot of relationship problems with Karen and the teacher and now that skinny bitch(forgot her name) and is in rehab and what not.
Well, the thing is, he's exactly like Frank.

This video broke my heart. It really shows how a lot of the anger that Lip took out on Professor Youens was just pent up anger that has been building inside of him for years because of Frank and he is finally starting to release that anger. Excellent job, really made me feel something.

Kids a good actor, and yes, I believe he's better than Emmy, but come on, better than William H Macy? We're talking about a legend here. I do hope that Jeremy Allen White gets more roles, after he did such a great job all the years he phenomenally played Lip. Especially now that the show is over.

As a recovering alcoholic, Lip has one of my favorite character arcs of all time. He was given the smarts to run the world. It seems like he made it out the other side and rather than getting back on track to run the world, he's just trying to keep it together and build his family. Very realistic and very inspiring
honestly lip gets more pressure on him than anyone cause hes a genius and everyone expects him to be this golden star boy and be responsible for everything and everyone hes the glue that brought the family together

As a codependent in recovery, no. Lip needs to stop taking care of others at his own expense. Never, ever expect someone to come along and save you, never ever expect others to change. It is only you, who can do the change. He is 50% at fault for not taking action and peacing out. There's a saying that blood is thicker than water. Do you know that it's not the whole saying? The whole thing goes, "The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb." It actually means that we should choose our families, not the other way around.
This is honestly the best lip edit I have ever came across good job to the person who created it but it made me realize that the professor is just a old frank who has learned from his mistakes he is still struggling a bit and he is putting so much effort into lip so he won't go down the same path as him 😭😭😭

Honestly, lip has been through a whole lot. Definitely underappreciated. Also, he deserved a better end.
I thought his end was significant, though it took a long time for him to get there. Finally he humbled himself and got a menial job to support his family. He told Fiona after her club night that the only way to make money when you're poor was to scam or steal it. Taking that delivery job was the biggest character growth in the whole programme for Lip. He spent his life being told that he was as special. Smart and clever. He would do something great. And he could have but his addictions, sex and alcohol, ruined that. He was given so many opportunities, told that he was more special. By the end of s11 he realized that he wasn't special. Delivery driver was his rock bottom. Now he gets to build.

I like Lip. Sometimes he is unfairly hard on Fiona other times she deserves it but he loves and takes care of his family. I was so happy for him when he started college hoping he would make it all the way through. Disappointing to see such an intelligent young man not succeeding. So much potential.
I listen to this daily. You captured everything that relates me to lip from what I endured in life. I just wanted to say from another editor just thank you for this video. This video has gotten me out of so many dark places by realizing how far I made it. You're awesome.

I feel for Lip, I met someone like him years ago and as in the show, the environment around us wasn't the best and he had soooo much potential but didn't get his shit together.. I got out from there but I don't know what happened to him, I hope he's doing okay, Shameless really protrays many realitly of many people, crazy and sad at the same time but that's the world we live in.
As a codependent in recovery, and someone who has lost relationships to codependency, I'm sure after losing you he realized and got better. I lost the last person I'll ever love and that's why I got better. Losing you probably made him better. I know it sounds screwed up, but take it from someone who used to be the same. Silver linings.
Why Shameless is such a great tv show- because every character had a challenge. Every character is different. It’s great because every viewer is different. That different viewer could at least relate to one of the characters they made in this show.

I started watching gallagher the very first day that it started releasing season 1 and after so much time has passed the show still managed to find away to astonish me, make me laugh, make me feel sad and lots of other things. I don't cry I don't give a fuck what happens to humans and I don't feel shit when people get killed or tortured but this show is just something new and amazing. Something that most shows don't have.

Take into realisation the words his proffesor said. "Stop talking before you hurt yourself" he wasn't looking out for lip he was looking out for himself before he lost another person that realised the cycle he was stuck in. But when and as he said those words his eyes expressed how sorry he was for everything he put on lip emotions speak a million times over more than words do

I feel like lip in a way, is a manifestation of frank. not saying he’s just like him. rather his role in this series is to show what growing up in poverty does to people. frank didn’t become who he was for nothing, in the later seasons we begin to see lip starting to develop some of franks habits as if he’s giving up on everything he has to live for except his family
