Blaze of Glory: A Tribute to Sumner County Military Veterans

American Legion Post 17 in Gallatin, Tenn., celebrated its 100th anniversary on June 22, 2024 with the dedication of a new statue by reclaimed metal sculptor Valentine Adams. Titled “Blaze of Glory,” this monumental sculpture stands 14-feet-8-inches high and weighs 3,600 pounds. It now stands sentry outside the Sumner County Veterans Residence, Adams, a healing arts facilitator with Monthaven Arts and Cultural Center in Hendersonville, created the work using old metal scraps from Gallatin.
