    @Everybody here, yes, back in year 1990, "The Joker's Wild" game show had Mr. Patrick "Pat" J. Finn as its previous host just as his former studio announcer there was Mr. Edward "Ed" MacKay!

    Even as a fan of classic Joker, I liked this version also. The only flaws I see are whenever spun jokers, they should have given the option to go off the board, and three jokers should have meant any category in play, not just what came up on the wheels after you spin them.

      That and make a triple Joker it $250 bonus in the first round and $500 in the second round, and much rarer natural triple be an instant win the round 1 and instant win with a correct answer with round 2.

    I didn't like the first revival of this with the definition as much as this version of it. Wish they would have stuck with this but had two contestants and play until $2,000 , also with three joker's you get to select the category instead of three random ones. I've seen worse revivals than this show though, Card Sharks 01 was the worst.

      Yes, this is Studio 31. A little trivia: Originally, CBS Television City was built with four studios, and 31 and 33 each had a dedicated theater pit. But in the early 1960's, the former was covered up in concrete, and since then, only 33 has the theater pit.

    To tell the truth, out of all the 1990-1991 offerings in game shows, I actually prefer Joker's Wild, The Challengers, The $100,000 Pyramid, Super Jeopardy!, and To Tell The Truth out of all the other 1990 rubbish, especially Tic Tac and Monopoly! And that's saying something.

      You must be thinking of Monopoly Millionaires Club. The 1990 version was the one with an awful host with no hosting experience!
      I also loved the Family Double Dare reboot from 1990. I also consider All About the Opposite Sex, Trump Card, Fox's Fun House (with MC Mike), Hold Everything, and Turn It Up! (More like Turn It Off!) to be pure garbage.

      What about The Quiz Kids Challenge or Krypton Factor revival? Plus Nickelodeon had Robb Edward Morris as new host of Make the Grade as well as the debut of Get the Picture with Mike O'Malley (and IIRC What Would You Do started during the 1990-91 season). Thoughts on those?

    • @terryleemangrumii8566
      @terryleemangrumii8566 Před 3 lety

      @@cevancarr No. I thought the Quiz Kids Challenge was pretty decent. Krypton Factor was a dreck of a teen game show and made me wish the classic UK episodes would air in the USA. And I do infact like Get The Picture and Make The Grade (I even played the fan-made computer game of it!) as well as What Would You Do, and not the one from ABC News (though I also like that show too.)

    It would be nice if Buzzr air this version of The Joker's Wild. But also it's depends if Sony Pictures Television Studios outright or co-outright own this version of The Joker's Wild with Fremantle since Kline & Friends rights are now own by Fremantle. Is this true or just fiction? Just curious.

  • @meehow72

    Never saw this version before. The only criticism is the extremely poor graphics (for a show from the 90s). It seems even more primitive than the original show.

    • @marcpower4167
      @marcpower4167 Před 6 lety +2

      exactly, In the first portion Pat reads off a series of definitions to words all beginning with the same letter, each word the contestant can get in 60 seconds earns one spin. The contestant then takes those spins to the "joker machine" and tries to win prizes. 3 of a kind wins the prize you matched up. You can freeze/unfreeze windows after each spin if you so desire, getting 3 jokers wins the Joker Jackpot which starts at $5,000 and grows by $500 every time it's not won. Since it's hard to win, It's gone pretty high a few times. In one case it was won for $36,000. I thing I don't like, Once you win a prize that ends the bonus round. Even if you have spins left you can't use them.

    • @marcpower4167
      @marcpower4167 Před 6 lety

      some episode also had an audience game, members of the audience spun the wheels up to 3 times, if they matched a prize they won $100. Otherwise they got a joker's wild t-shirt.
