I love this sm ❤ My dog is the reason I knew I was pregnant. I have the arm implant, no periods, but still got pregnant. He started laying his head on my belly whenever I'd lay down or sit, and normally he sleeps on the bed closest to the wall, but started positioning himself to be close to the door. As in, squeezing next to me so he could face the door. He's a German Shepherd/chow/pit mix ❤
I lost the pregnancy unfortunately, so I never got to see how he would react to being around the baby, but he also comforted me during the entire grieving/recovery process. I am endlessly grateful for him.

This is an absolutely beautiful story, but people keep calling American Staffordshire terriers a pitbull. American Staffordshire terriers are AKC, Pitbulls are not.
Pitbulls are still a breed, and a seperate breed at that. They are cousins and the pitbull derived from the Am. Staff, but there is a terrier difference between the two. Just because the AKC doesn't accept the breed into their high society club, doesn't mean they are NOT a breed. The UKC accepts and recognizes bothe American Staffordshire Terriers AND American Pitbull Terriers.
Please do some more research before spreading misinformation. It happens enough between the bully breeds.
However, I do agree with you. People do not know the difference between an AM Staff and a Pitbull.

If dogs have 10 times enhanced audition than humans I bet they are the first ones to notice the baby's heart beating , of course they sense them , and love them like it was theirs. Their instincts are wonderfully loving and protective. Love them all , cat , birds , etc. When a dog at first does not like a human pay attention to how he reacts to that person they rarely are wrong, remember they are protecting the ones they love .

Animals always know! They possess a level of intelligence most people don't realize. My neighbor has a big rowdy dog and he's warned me about her. But I told her a few times she could hurt me if she got rough. So she knows and is always gentle with me! I KNOW she will never hurt me!

We adopted a mislabeled dog when I was pregnant(getting a friend for our first dog)so I had no idea I was getting a working dog. He was an Australian cattle dog who turned his baby humans into a herd he protected constantly. Plus he was so smart and capable of noticing dangerous things for the kids(doggy door comes to mind)he would gently herd them away. Their human father missed all the potentially risky things in the environment so I could only trust the dog to watch the kids if I needed a nap or a bath.
