  • Just got all my tools moved over from my old box that has served me well for the last 10 years. Found a good deal on this Snap-on Epiq, hopefully this one lasts me another 10 years.

    Beautiful new box. Nice set of tools also. Also being in Alberta, I have a lot of Mastercraft stuff. Most of what they put out is pretty good. Plus it's guaranteed for life and I've had to take a few broken things in and they never had a problem with grabbing me a new one off the shelf.
    Thanks for the video. Liked.

    • @TheHDPerspective
      @TheHDPerspective  Před 7 lety

      +Bruce L. Ya, I've been happy with my mastercraft tools, sometimes waiting in line at customer service to return a broken tool can be annoying. Or sometimes they don't have it in stock. But other than that they're pretty good. Thanks for watching!

      +M Pfeff ya I try and post the flyers as I get them. My snap on guy doesn't always come around though so it's kinda hit or miss. I'm in Alberta so it would be interesting to see if they have different flyers for other provinces. I'm pretty sure they get the same flyers in BC as in Alberta

    Nice box! Is it me or does everyone’s files end up with punches, chisels and air hammer bits? That happened to me as well. Definitely right off that bat, I can see that you invested in quality tools and then upgraded storage. So many times I’ve seen guys here on CZcams posting big boxes and filled up with about 80% cheap tools! Your on you way sir!

    great video, I would recommend some bigger hammers though. I do the same kind of work. I like the BASH hammers, the rubberized grip will save your wrist.

      +John Gibson ya no doubt. I've already changed it a bit from when I shot the video. It's hard to know where to put stuff when 2-3 drawers from the old box fit into 1 drawer in the new one.

    Yo man,
    That M12 ratchet has a five year warranty from Milwaukee. Have them fix that puppy for you!
    Good video!

    • @TheHDPerspective
      @TheHDPerspective  Před 7 lety +1

      +mdlee52 do you know where you can go to get warranty on them?

    • @mdlee52
      @mdlee52 Před 7 lety

      Home Depot might be a good place to start. Or contact Milwaukee directly. Usually they refer to the date code on the tool to determine roughly how old it is. If the date code is close to the 5 year mark, Milwaukee may ask you to provide proof of purchase.
      Where did you buy the the ratchet?

    • @TheHDPerspective
      @TheHDPerspective  Před 7 lety

      +mdlee52 I bought it online at blackrocktools.com they won't take it back after a certain time period. I'll give Milwaukee a call and see what happens from there.

    • @dillwiggle2
      @dillwiggle2 Před 7 lety +2

      Doesnt matter where you bought it. I bring mine to a local Milwaukee repair shop and as long as the serial number is on there and its within the 5 years they will fix it, they have never asked for the receipt either !
      On that note if the serial number cant be read and you have the receipt with date of purchase then they will fix it !

    • @TheHDPerspective
      @TheHDPerspective  Před 7 lety +1

    Hey i see you're a fellow Canadian! How do you like working in the heavy duty field? Im thinking of switching over from Automotive. Ive been working in automotive for going on 5 years. Im not a big fan of flat rate. Thinking of a way out haha. Good video!

    • @TheHDPerspective
      @TheHDPerspective  Před 6 lety +1

      Ya, I've been working heavy duty for around 11 years now. For the most part I enjoy it, but like anything it depends on your shop. One of the reasons I went hd instead of auto is the pay. I also work with about 5 other guys that were automotive and made the change and they all said they couldn't believe the difference. I work for a fleet so I don't have to deal with customers which is nice. I worked at a dealership before and that was always one of the downsides. So far I've had no regrets, make good money and work with an awesome group of guys. Couldn't ask for more.

    • @pimpinpenz
      @pimpinpenz Před 6 lety

      Yeah i enjoy my job to an extent. Dealing with customers sucks. I work at a GM dealership so theres always a decent amount of work. But the pay just is not there. Not with the way the economy is going. I feel as if for my job i need way too many tools which i really do enjoy tools, but way too many required.I also feel that the skill set required has greatly improved with the use of electronics in vehicles. Im the electrical specialist for my dealership as well so anything anyone cannot figure out electrically i get. Anyways man thanks for the information! Its something im definitely going to look into. I want something that pays more.

    • @TheHDPerspective
      @TheHDPerspective  Před 6 lety

      The work is similar to automotive, but in other ways it's very different. I work a lot with hydraulics for example, and you need a lot of tools especially bigger stuff and SAE tools. It is shifting more over to metric but it's still not there.

  • @Alanthe918mobilemechanic

    No offense bro but I think u have small hands cause every tool u said u need to use with both hands I generally use one handed especially my pwz for alignments.

    • @TheHDPerspective
      @TheHDPerspective  Před 2 lety

      I typically use mine for breaking lose JIC hydraulic fittings. Usually means reaching in in with my arm fully extended into a tight space with lots of other hydraulic hoses.

      It's one made by Tekton. I like them they've helped cleanup my toolbox a lot, but they only work with screwdrivers with thicker shanks. Here's the link to them on amazon amzn.to/2Fo4TNb

      +Matt Perrin ya, it's pretty hard to justify the price of a new one. Especially when they drop in value the moment it comes off the truck
