I am going to show you an incredible cheap option to build up your miniature collection. Get great looking miniatures for pennies to use in your Dungeons and Dragons D&D game.
Everyone has to start somewhere. The Mage Knight minis are a good starting point for bulk minis without having to open a new hobby jar of mini assembling and painting
I've been hearing some good things about mage knight ^^ I don't know if it ever was popular in my country but I will keep my eyes open for some of these sculpts!
I got a box full of Mage Knights from a friend and I converted a bunch of them for use at my D&D table. I pretty much used all of the techniques that you lay out here. It's nice to see I wasn't alone.
The Crafting Brothers I was just thinking about that today. I have an encounter Im planning to run but I have to paint some minis for it. I’m procrastinating now.
I repaint a lot of Mage Knight minis to use in other games. I agree, the undead are some of the best ones. But I have probably repainted close to 100 of them of various types, even PCs, and they repaint pretty well and look good on the table.
I had a female monk that has like a loincloth in front okay but the backside was like a thong... I just added a back using some thin metal to form a back loin cloth.
Hi, Thanks for watching. If you do a search for "Mage Knight miniatures lot" on Ebay, you will find a bunch of postings (Most of them are selling for a ridiculous price, so you have to look for the ones that say "Or best offer"). Hope this helps.
I've scored a couple of Mage Knight minis here and there in Facebook lots but never find em on TrollAndToad. (even your screenshots of the site show them all out of stock) My one big source of really cheap minis? Heroclix. They've got a surprising amount of stuff that works for D&D, especially counting Yu-Gi-Oh, LOTR and Horrorclix. Fantasy overlaps with superheroes a lot so your characters adjacent to Thor, Wonder Woman, Dr. Strange and whatnot will work well in the fantasy worlds of D&D. Miniatures of the Spider-Man villain Jackal can work well as ghouls, a lot of snake-themed supervillains can quickly become yuan-ti, there's a surprising amount of cheap minis in loose robes that can work for cultists, druids and wizards...
I wonder how much work it would be to make those female Mage Knight figures look less ridiculous. Maybe sculpt some more sensible clothing on with miliput or green stuff?
If you're looking for cheap awesome miniatures, there's still 3 days left on the Blacklist Miniatures: Fantasy Series 1 Kickstarter! A $65 pledge will get you about 300 minis (so far!) plus whichever further tiers are unlocked! It's like a quarter per mini, and they have huge minis, like Dire Bears, Trolls, and even a Dragon!! Check it out: www.kickstarter.com/projects/blacklistgames/blacklist-miniatures-fantasy-series-1/description
I would like to see some of the really bad sculpts if you still have them... Been bouncing the idea around of getting some of these minis simply because they are cheap...
@@thecraftingbrothers9448 Either way works, I was just checking out their minis a few days ago and than your channel popped up... Your video was great by the way
They ended up to be about .40 cents each. do a search for completed auctions and you can see the real price. There are a lot of people trying to pawn them off as something else. Thanks for watching

Name me one warrior who would actually battle monsters dressed in a diaper like Conan. Maybe quit virtue signaling and stick to minis. There is nothing wrong with men who enjoy the idea of scantily clad women, just like there is nothing wrong with women who enjoy scantily clad men. This was fun to watch.
Thank you... You gave me the idea... Thanx! I have one coming out this week on the Mage Knight bases.

I agree. I paid a lot more for Nolzur's Marvelous Miniatures!

Cleverness abounds once again! Lydiya and I enjoyed this very much! Thank you!
Thanks Heather!
This was a pretty good video, very informative and insightful on taking something old and making it new.
Thanks

Yea, I think there are a lot of Mage Knights that convert easily, I use them in my game all the time. I am working on Heroclix now.
I loved your show...It was hilarious...You made my day..:)
Thank you. This comment made MY day!
DUDE you don’t know HOW MUCH THIS HELPED ME
Thank you!!! That means a lot.
The favorite thing I love about these is that I don’t have to paint them aside from a wash or something light.
Exactly... I can't stand painting entire minis :)
The Crafting Brothers I was just thinking about that today. I have an encounter Im planning to run but I have to paint some minis for it. I’m procrastinating now.

great paint jobs!

All of your adjustments were improvements for certain. The two elementals were great.
Thank you! I'm loving these Mage Knights.
Muy ingenioso y me gustaron mucho algunas modificaciones
Fun video. I wonder if some of the female minis might be salvaged by giving them actual pants or longer skirts with green stuff? Just a thought.
Thats a great idea. I'm generally lazy so I would only do it if I needed a certain character :)

I’m having sooooooooo much trouble finding a pre painted mini lot so can u help by any chance?🤗

For maybe twice the price I LOVE the Maze of Death pathfinder minis

cool minis! subbed!
