This is a great rendition of the suit! They knocked it out of the park with this one!
At first I was like "yay!", but when I heard there was no atomic breath, my brain was filled with question marks and I'm very disappointed. The figure itself is nice, but the lack of a breath effect is confusing and a major flaw.

Keep an eye on Bandai's social accounts to see if they are going to sell it outside of the event after the show is over. There is no guarantee, but like the Event Exclusive GvK Kong that came with the MechaGodzilla head, it may go up for preorder sometime after SDCC.
Is there any way I could order this for his retail price online?

Keep an eye out, it may be the same situation as the Event Exclusive GvK Kong that came out a few years ago, which was an SDCC exclusive. It eventually went out for wide release. There may be a chance this one does the same after the event is over!
Well for the price of this figure (and most of their godzilla toys) there's no reason why they shouldn't include any accessories, especially an atomic breath-which is pretty simple to have produced.
Event Exclusive figures are priced a little higher for being exclusive. The transparent plastic also costs more to make. The regular version of this figure was actually the exact same price when it came out.
The translucent dorsal plates are really cool although I do wish they went all the way to the tail and perhaps the mouth being blue inside and yeah coming with an atomic breath piece. Godzilla figures that have an atomic breath variant should always come with an atomic breath variant in my opinion it's like releasing a g1 Megatron figure without his fusion cannon it just doesn't make sense but Despite that this is a pretty cool figure.
The dorsal plates never actually light up all the way down in the film, so this is quite accurate to what we see on screen actually!
I do agree the mouth could have been blue in the inside, in the movie it never went to the tail
