Seeing a Sandhagen-Whittaker video on my homepage is like early Christmas.
Wow, this is like the 5th pro UFC fighter that has come out and publicly praised Robert Whittaker’s skills. Like more than the usual praise fighters give each other. He must REALLY be good!
People make fun of Karate sometimes, but I love Whittaker as his striking style and movement is 100% Karate, Love Topria too, his Striking style is Boxing (the Calf Kicks would be stolen from Karate) .... there are subtle differences in there styles that makes one Boxing and one Karate but both guys are two of the best Strikers in the UFC , Topria much more power than Max Hollaway which makes him better than Max
@@nicholasnj3778I haven’t really seen as many people making fun of karate. I think most fans know Karate can be implemented in MMA successfully.
Whittaker really needed that win. Super happy for him
This was ultimate fighter Whitaker 😤
You're filling a huge gap in the combat sports community being a credentialed fighter and coach SPECIFICALLY for MMA! Love that you're accounting for the small gloves and talking about details nobody else really seems to notice!
Love that he had literally nothing positive to say about Costa 😂
Costa obviously does his best work marching forward, heavy on his front leg. Robert made him pay with the calf kick. Costa adjusted by shifting weight to the back leg but then was unable to clear space on the blitz. Simple stuff but done to perfection 👌
Rob was Calm, Cool & Collected which is Great Trait’s to have in War
Seeing breakdowns of rob fights is always fun because there almost always a sense of admiration for how good rob is. Like the weasels breakdown of the Gastelum fight people are just in awe of an on point rob Whittaker
The dickriding is insane, decision merchant with zero power and 8 losses, who cares how technical u r when u lose the big fights
I agree everything sandhagen says. I also always play him in ufc4
Calling Merab vs Sandhagen for an interim belt right now, they clearly need to fight for a belt and the ufc clearly doesn’t want either as champ
They also know they both beat sean
Would love Sandhagen as champ . Even Merab is funny.
That's a real possibility because Sean O'Malley wants to fight Ilya Topuria for double champ status. I really hope Chito Vera beats Sean in dominant fashion.
Bro even Dana agreed Merab is getting the next shot. Dont waste our time for interim belt
@@philippculture489sean said hes open to fighting Merab this past Monday
Cory, you’re getting much better in front of the camera and I’m very happy to see your channel getting some traction.
This is phenomenal. The best MMA content I’ve seen
dude your attitude toward things in general is admirable. I wish i could train under your leadership.
much appreciated breakdowns.
✌🏼
Cory you're my favorite because you're my favorite student of the game. Bobby Knuckles was my fave getting into MMA and it's not surprising you'd be a fan. I appreciate all the nuance in the breakdowns, it's a treat to have that access to your thought process. Especially that bit about how Rob gets his shots inside others'. This one and Gastelum were awesome showcases of being exactly within the right track on the timing he had to be. Boxing noggins up. Absolutely magnificent hands.
GAY
I don’t know about you CharlieC, but I’m feeling very gay today; urging you to hop on the gay train too. ChooChoo MF
Nice breakdown
Robbert whittaker style is so fun
Finally! I’ve been waiting for you to review Whittaker 😊
Great breakdown love the videos man keep it up can’t wait to see you in the octagon again soon 🦾
Great breakdown. Whittaker is a such a legend. Like Whittaker Sandhagen has to jump through hoops of fire just to getbone title shot because he too is a respectful martial artist who doesn't put on an act.
Love all the content - especially the breakdowns and you talking about the mental game. Awesome work! Thanks Sandman
I like Cory's cerebral approach to the fight game. As someone who boxed, those were the sort of guys I liked in my corner.
Instant classic!
Thank you so much brother for adding some timbre to your voice, definitely the best analyst in current fighters, keep at it.
Your the best bantamweight in the world you will be champ soon can’t wait till that day 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Great video. Extremely informative and helpful. Pls creat more content like this. Will gladly support !
Love you Sandman! Great video!
Love these videos, love from Houston 💯
Best fighting channel in the game
Was sweating the over 1.5 in this one after that spinning heel kick
Sandhagen is insanely good 🔥🔥🙏
idk how it didnt get FOTN
So Cory is a massive Jalin Turner and Whittaker fan.
Interesting🤔🤔
You and Dan Hardy should do a collab or even like a fight analaysis podcast together. Youre both the fuckin best
Another banger
If corey fights soon it could be cejudo or a rematch in peter yan if he beats song. Cant see many orher available options as merab is next in line id imagine
Good analysis, stay hungry cory
So good
Commenting for the algo. Good stuff Cory.
Hi,
Advice for analysing a fight ? Sorry im a frenchman so my english is bad 😁
The Sagat clip was appreciated.
Truth. Only Ngannou can do that against Overeem.
Brother love from india. You r an inspiration. And your mind is fascinating
Hello. Good to see more of us 😊
brother🤙
I'd love to see a video specifically addressing the calf kick. I'd like to understand what positioning mistakes create the openings for them, and how to correct or counter them. The calf kick has been notoriously (ha) present in MMA lately, but why?
I thought Rob clearly won . Was surprised to see people saying Costa won . I felt Rob was in Control of the fight other than the wheel kick in the 1st .
Whitaker & DDP has such similar styles with the flurry combos. But DDP has more in his locker with the wrestling and efficient kicks.
Bare fcking savage nuff said
Love you cozza
I was with Costa, but men, i would love to fight like Bobby knucles❤
Like for the street fighter bit
Certainly avoiding calf kicks prevents damage over checking, but if you’re always backing up to avoid the kick, aren’t you just getting predictable?
As you know, can’t attack or counter when you’re backing up
Something I want to understand is does Robs style not let him do a bunch of combos? In the fight I kept thinking if Rob did his signature jab and followed up with 3 4 more in a combo he couldve put Costa away. But every time he does 1 or 2 punch combos.
I see high level fighters in Muay Thai like Saenchai as the person is turning they teep 👞 them on their glutes and it puts them off balance
Funny how O'Malley never wants to mention Corey's name.
O’Malley legit always says Corey’s a high level striker and very good. He’s talked about fighting him plenty of times lmao
Dude you should just duck under the wheel kick. That way if they throw the spinning back kick instead, it only hits you in the face.
Ducking is scary tho cause if he goes to the body you just gave him your face lmao
Exactly! 😂 Idk why that is funny to me I am probably weird
Its MMA so everything is trained but man everything he Shows is Karate movement, at least the Karate I leaned in the 1980s and 1990s ... yet people will make fun of Karate sometimes
Merab almost ducked that kick
Love seeing Rob fighting, his chin is a little sus, but his technique is amazing to watch. I think his fight are won or lost based on if he can keep moving forward.
Not really, he’s only been TKOd three times in his career and I don’t think he’s ever been knocked fully unconscious. Volk has also been TKOd three times in his career(two of those being his last two fights) but I wouldn’t consider his chin “sus.”
Not being a fighter I can’t see what is good about hobbit Whitaker. He seems to just do the same one punch over and over
If that's how you see it, think of it as: he's fought all the best fighters in his division for a decade, and won most of his fights with "one punch over and over"
The best fighters in the world know how he fights, and have rarely been able to stop him - because he is extremely good
If i can land the same punches on a guy over and over that means im setting it up well and he can’t stop it even if he knows what i want. That’s high level.
SANDHAGEN & CEJUDO BREAKING DOWN FIGHTS, BUT ALL THEIR FIGHTS ARE BORING.
Sandhagens had good fights lmao. Don’t let the last 2 fool you
One of my favourite fighters breaking down my favourite fighter in a video is awesome! 🫡🫡
