By far the most comprehensive and useful martial arts content being put out there
thank you man!!
Look up joe lewis fighting systems
Truly, a masterclass here. Thank you Jeff
Gabriel Varga is more comprehensive because 5x world champion. But mma shredded make it a little more entertaining. Both excellent by the way. But i learn more from word champignons.
Yes
The effectiveness of that hip sweep is incredible. Thank you so much.
no prob :)
Same as the sweep Machida used. Common in Karate.
tbh i think the sweep could easily be counted for example with the fist kick he showed its used when they coming at you so if you can see them coming then ya while watching there were multiple openings where a kick or even punch would land
That's my favourite one. I've dropped my friends multiple times in sparring with this secret move :)
@@cameronbaker-kf3ukevery move you use haves their counters like the jab or the cross, there are numerous of ways to counter them but that doesn't mean they are useless, the same goes for the sweep, if you know when to use it without telegraphing its okay
This is actually incredible. There's like 20 examples of each one so you can see it in a variety of contexts.
:)
For the hard sparring guy, you throw a lot of gentle finishing moves. I just watched guys charging through your head kicks not realizing they have you to thank for still having their heads attached.
I will do my best to acknowledge that when it happens.
thanks :)
Honestly man the more I watch your videos the more unorthodox my style now is. I've been practicing kickboxing muaythai now for 2 years for fun and I'm loving my changes. With that said, basics first basics.
im glad to hear man!!!
Bro I went into sparring tonight and hit that hip sweep first try despite us never having drilled it and everyone looked at me like they just discovered I had super powers. You're the man dude thank you 🙌
this is one of the best training videos i've ever seen in any field. you have a lot of recorded examples of each move from as many different angles, an excellent way to communicate the moves.
thank you!!
I'm normally the aggressor so this is helpful for me to see what to look for if someone wants to negate pressure 🤣
haha cheers!
Thanks for this, Jeff. I have a lot of anxiety when it comes to sparring, mostly because I always seem to get paired up with the spazzy guy. Your videos have helped me tremendously.
im glad to hear man!
Hi Jeff, once again you put together a great tutorial video! It is amazing the amount of sparring sessions you meddled together for each of the 9 chapters. The fixed dark shaded images with texts are so useful. What a great video editing work!
Thank you once again for sharing such high quality tuition material with us! 🙏👍💪🥊🏆
All the best!
thanks for your feedback man!!
Fantastic material as always. This is a longer video, so I might watch this a few times to more deeply ingrain. I like how these moves control the amount of damage you take but allow for counteroffense. Thanks to Mr. Chan for all his hard work to keep us informed.
thanks for watching man!
This is excellent content to study and incorporate into training. Awesome video, Jeff!
thanks Ali!!
Love the 2nd one. Saw that one years ago on your channel and still doing it in sparring sometimes. Good to know the perfect footwork now too
awesome :)
I was working on using long knees to counter punches this week, #3 was just right for me. Thanks, Jeff.
no prob!!
the quality on this is insane. Even as a begineer I understand what you're doing with multiple examples and the small tutorial you add.
Also it explains so many things I see people doing but can't reproduce just yet because I haven't even processed them yet.
The technical breakdown is awesome! Thanks!
thank you!!
Thank you son much mate. I do not usually let comments on CZcams but really, from my point of view, you deserve to be promocionate.
I'm discovering you since a few weeks, and I learnt so much from you. You take time to stop the video and explain the move and you really show how to do a smooth and respectfull sparring. I have to say that I really appreciate your technics and I completlty share your philosophy. Thanks again.
Cheers from France.
thanks for watching!!!!
Amazing ! thank you for your explanation and sharing. It really help to understand and improve. you're a great teacher and fighter !

You’re smooth on that charging sweep thing. Love it. As someone who also prefers to be on the outside I would love to videos featuring you sparring against bigger opponents. How to manage distance, etc
thank you!!
This si solid gold, thanks!. Greatings from Santiago, Chile.
:)
no messing about straight into the tips fwarkin love it
Oh man thank you so much for this. I was concussed in Muay Thai by this one hyper aggressive guy at my gym and ever since then I have been going back and forth trying to figure out what I could have done within my skill set to have my space respected, very frustrating. Currently writing some of these to practice with in training thank you so much!
no prob!
Thank you for the incredible details and explaining the when and why behind the technique.
thank you for the support Kevin!!
Super informative and useful video, Jeff!

Soooooo i just subbed to this dude last week …. Had sparring sesh last week and used one of his techniques and gave a shinner to our best fighter TWICE … definitely levelled up …. Can’t wait to apply these to the guy who always presses me !!
thats awesome!
This is the one I didn't know I've been waiting for! Thanks man!
no prob :)
One of the best vídeos of the Channel 😊
Jeff is deff knows what he is doing. He is a true martial artist.
REAAAALLLY appreciating that you shows how/when it DOESN'T work, and why.
Really helps figuring out the core principles at hand.
My personal favorite (as a low level fighter, though) is a push kick to the belly, when I feel the opponent is a second away from launching a forward-dashing storm/combos.
Then chain it with hop step side kick, very frontal-like too, to nail opponent's will to advance on me and break his/her rythm.
It gives me either the attacker's role back, or if opponent tries to side-step I'll start cross combos with my momentum/position, or at worst it will just give me time to catch my breath (which is how I use it the most, admittedly, at my poor gas tank level xD)
Love those combinations/swiss-knife tips xD
cheers :)
So good! So practical!!
thx!
Very great combinations and compilation. Thanks for the consistent examples. Lead leg kick and high kicks were Ace.
:)

Great video and well done on giving such a great break down.
thanks man!!
Incredible video, as usual.
Thanks Jeff.
Showerthought wall of text incoming:
your channel is both THE greatest testimony to how efficient constant sparring is at creating superb fighters but ALSO full HD proof of how it can delude good fighters into thinking they're great instead of being humbled and schooled.
So many examples of eating counter hooks and flush kicks to the chin yet going through with their combos and even ramping up the pressure is... I mean dude what?
Don't they get that if you didn't pull back they'd be on the floor (or on a stretcher)?
And of what value is continuing the exchange for the fighters' skills?
And I get that you can't get good by only having professional fights but this is like watching kids try to make up fictional rules on the fly so they don't lose at hide and seek or some shit. It certainly doesn't help them get better at hide and seek.
Speaking of hide and seek, half of these people should have been seeking medical help from the concussions you gracefully protected them from.
I think that sparring - at least at your level - needs two things to be fruitful for both parties:
A) A similar expertise of martial arts. Not art. Arts.
B) and just straight up high IQ. NOT fight IQ, but also pattern recognition and social and emotional intelligence.
So, so much nuance and it's both beautiful and baffling.
#10 Be a gentleman like Jeff.
Bro, your ability to keep your cool with some of these SparTards is impressive.
I implemented a few of your techniques and it made me a better fighter almost immediately, thank you sir!

love your channel, I learned from you hip sweep how to pull it on opponent, I'm not in any shape or form good in Thai box but in springs I'm catching guys who are fighting professionally.... so rewarding, usually I do left switch kick first then fake it and just teleport myself on their left as you do.... THANK YOU
thanks for watching!!
That's unarguably the most useful Martial arts tutorial on CZcams, thank you so much for sharing 🙏
thanks for watching man!
Thanks man. I’m getting to be a training partner for a guy making his pro debut at the end of the month and I gotta step up my own game to give him a good challenge! I really like the intercepting sweep (2), I gotta try that today! I’ll let you know if I get it!

Love your sliding takedowns, a very nice segue for a descending hammerfist or kick either to the head or body.
thanks!!
I tried all of them in my sparring. Very helpful! 👍

4 and 2 are hectic ... fun to do to mates, dont even have to be sparring.
Always safety first
