  • Here's a great rig for youth hunters or those looking to take on some small-bore action this spring gobbler season. The Stevens 301 was designed to handle the loads of TSS like the Apex Tungsten Shot, Federal TSS, Herter's, Browning, and more. If you're wondering what gear you need for turkey hunting? This video covers several of the bases that are critical pieces of a turkey hunter's gear.
In this video, Edward is taking a break from calling turkeys and showing you a setup that is lethal for a spring set up.
Using the Burris FastFire 3 or Burris FF3 on top of this little Savage 301 is a great option for rugged reliable performance in the spring turkey woods.
The pattern testing of the Apex Turkey TSS .410 vs the Herter's TSS exclusively from Bass Pro Shops delivers some surprising results.
The Burris Fast Fire 3 offers superior quality in a rugged design made to withstand the elements and stay true for those moments that matter.
The Stevens 301 .410 paired with the right load of TSS #9s delivers a quality and effective pattern that even large gauge shotguns would envy.

I have the Vortex and the Burris. I like the more illumination choices of the vortex’s 10 or so vs 3 on the Burris. The see through cover is nice on the Burris. My Burris has sighted in with no issues my vortex had to be shimmed to hit where I needed

I had to shim a vortex once as well. I would suspect it was more in the POA of the shotgun that caused this. They all are great options and have the pros and cons.
I am running a AT3 on a 20 gauge and love it as the button is larger and is a lot more user friendly.

My 410 is very finicky on patterns I’ve tried a bunch of chokes and different tss shells. 3rd season and Still working on getting a good pattern at 40yds. Does great at 30. I haven’t given up yet.

Not sure the one you have but I agree, the ones Ive patterned were not super consistent. But, the all liked the brownings and herters better than the other brands I had tried.

I tried one bad battery life, no shake awake, dot blows out on high, and the optic is very thick.

@dustinshaw2419 That’s good feedback, I had this same rig out of the safe this past weekend and was suprised that the optic didn’t power up. Assuming the battery is dead🤷‍♂️. Will have to investigate
