    The CZcams algorithm pleasantly surprised me with this video.
    I'm currently doin a refresh on my gen 1 383. Wanted to check out the insides after 2000 miles and everything is perfect. So currently I have engines on my mind.
    The tone and pacing of this video took me back to when I learned engine building. A beautifully paced and simple visual instruction of what it's like. Simply cannot wait to see the finished block.

      @@Slicpartna what was the reason to put the spacers around the crank when you tightened the oil pump down

      I used the feeler gauges to equally space the oil pump on the crank so there isn't any pre-mature wear in the oil pump.

    dose the stroker
    kit have to be specific to the 5.3 or can it just be for a small block chevy in general

      You can get a stroker kit for just about any engine

      @@Slicpartna i have a 5.3 i was mainly wondering if the kit has to made for a 5.3 most kits ive seen dont mention if it was made for a 5.3 most of them just say small block chevy

      @@fdluid6862 i believe summit racing has a stroker kit for a 5.3
      It would be a 363

      @@fdluid6862 yes the kit I got is made for a ls1
      I had the cylinders bored to 3.903 to accommodate the larger pistons
