- Good morning pilots, and welcome to War Thunder Bootcamp! In the pilot episode of this new series, we'll be taking a look at close air support. If you want to learn about how to use bombs, rockets or cannons, you're in the right place. I'll go through all the techniques and tips to help you get better at CAS in War Thunder.

I@veryorignalname4804 I agree but I am aiming fir the tanks when I'm in ny plane (onv unless defending against other planes)
Nice and useful video, extra tip: In the controls option you can find "Switch secondary weapons" if you assign something there, you can change the order for ordnance, meaning you can choose between them, for example, you found something light but don't want to use your 1000Kg bombs, you can switch for 500/250kg and get him, depending on your situation.

Your air ammo guide helped me a lot
The best channel for new war thunder players, when i started war thunder an year ago, this channel helped me a lot (especially in the ammo guides).
Anyways keep up the good work ;)
I have a tip about rockets:if your airplane can't have HEAT rockets don't worry.If you have HE rockets and you can't aim for the roof of a tank (for some reason) you can try aim the rockets under the tank because their underside usually don't have a lot of armor.If i didn't explain this tip corectly you can correct me:))

Update:I think is easier to fire rockets if your plane is slower

But since I 90% of the time play with Planes, I can't use it to full potential. But I'd love to learn how 2 Ground RB so I can use Attackers more effectively, and to have more variety of play.
So I'm looking forward for more Bootcamp series, and hope for a more explanation from the other side, Plane players who try to set their feet to Ground RB.

Thanks for this. I prefer low tier and use planes a lot more than tanks and Im crap at using rockets and doing bombing runs. This has helped tremendously. My advice for anyone in my position currently is to use your preferred fighter and be anti-cas for a bit until the skies are clear and then become recon by marking any enemies that your allies might not see

Some plane use cannon that penetrate high armor, Maybe USEFUL for close air SUPPORT but it's harder to hit Planes if it times perfectly in realistic battle

biggest problem i have in ground forces rb when flying is spoting targets both on the ground and in the air even when zoomed in.

Thanks for the bomb tips im bad at bombing with CAS but im good with high altitude bombers because you have a marker for where your bomb will hit also can you please give me any plane grinding tips because playing arcade or realistic plane battles is so boring.

Maybe it's cause of instructor iv kissed the ground with my do334-b2 so much lol
Tho I don't think il hunt planes unless its a bomber, or I can get on its tail before they go after me... do 335 is anything but a fighter lol... enemy fighters easily out maneuver it if there good, otherwise il try to play energy retention as it is hard to stall compared to others but also east to turn vertical at the top of a loop if I slow down correctly allowing me to swing around and get sights faster, pulled this maneuver earlier and had succes... tho had to run to base do to a jamm... its quick enough to run but not a maneuverable thing
👍. One thing I have noticed with cas players. They focus on ground targets first not planes. Common sense. Not so common in fact becoming rare.

If you dont have a drone/plane in warthunder naval battle you can shoot your bullets at an angle and view them and you can see enemy ships

I play in feet and mph. And I’m confused on the rocket reticle
Each line on the reticle indicates roughly 650 feet, so the first would be 650, then 1300, and so on

what control do you use to fire rockets? you never said what you changed it to after ctrl became throttle.
My bad, I usually use the number 4 on the top of the keyboard or one of the programmable buttons on my mouse

I did this wierd thing where my throttle was stuck at 47 and couldn’t change
I reloaded the game. If I change my pitch control is goes back to the glitch please help😢

My bomb always lands ahead of the target when attempting medium level bombing, tips?
theres a thing that's really confusing for me which is should I go for heavy bombers or like dive bombers and after i put out all my bombs what do i do? Should i go back to airfield or eject and spawn in tank? plus what are the seperate bindings for cannon and machine guns? It just says edit axis now unless u mean the large caliber gun setting thingy
-Dive bombers
-Land and rearm, then bomb again (unless there are too many friendly planes up)
-In the controls, look for "small-calibre guns" and "large-calibre guns"

I bought the French P-40 and the German P-47 within the first few days of starting to play War Thunder.
I have only been playing 3 weeks as of this post. My biggest question is spotting tanks on the ground. People in videos seem to see enemies so easily. I don't see them until I'm so low to the ground I can't do anything about it.
You just gotta fly around and keep your eyes open. Stay at medium altitude and look for a dark couple of pixels, or something that's moving. Your teammates will also ping enemy locations on the map, keep a lookout for that too.

What are some good cannon planes for CAS on USA?
Sadly America doesn't get many of those, so the PBJ with the 75mm cannon is your best bet.

@@khofekhang Alright I checked it, and it's gone for me too. I think Gaijin might have removed it from the game for some reason. You can try and mess around with the minimum and maximum BRs, that might work.

Go to your "controls" tab in the settings, select a control you want to change and click "rebind" at the bottom right

If you shoot an enemy they'll be spotted
Zoom in using gunner or binos at the enemy then press v and they’ll get spotted

I play on PS4 so basically those settings in the first part are useless but useful to other players on PC
the sad thing about this amazing video is that 9 out of 10 times the team you are in jsut cannot work together at all, and you end up trying to do everything at once, which leads to over extending and then a quick return to the garage with a high chance of someone in the team being angry and reporting you as well as bitching in a DM. happens to me all the time, and it is annoying as shit.
