THIS is the difference between a genuinely safe car and a car designed to pass a test. No door deformation, no A-pillar deformation, aced rear passenger test. In a 2017-designed car. Deep deep shame on Honda, Toyota, Hyundai, Kia, Jeep, etc.
I love Volvos but I drive a jeep 75% of that offroad tho I miss my S60 R tho I member racing a regular S60 and they hit a wall at 120 around a turn they walked away
Look at the updated Side Impact 2.0 test for this very car lol.
@@GrandHuevotes An A for updated side impact in a 6-year-old design is honestly not bad at all. The new sled is so much bigger and faster and the XC60 is not particularly tall.
@Ficon i love volvo but no excuses for measuring absolute safety data.
So what? It's sold in 2023, consumers don't care when it's designed, you make a useless point. Moreover this is a brand for safety, what a disgrace that they haven't redesigned when others have done so.
Geely is exactly what Volvo needed - someone who can provide a blank cheque, so Volvo can continue to focus on its core values.
A fantastic comment. Thank you.
As long as that cooperation does not suddenly (out of thin air) pose a "national security threat" to a specific country. LOL.
It’s insane how safe these cars are
Except for the side impact 2.0 test on this car.. go look for yourself.
“Insane” only describes Tesla Model Y safety as it’s the only car to score all greens for all body regions in all test. Don’t believe me go look for yourself.
Also the absolute highest score ever in euroncap 97% rating
@@GrandHuevotes Very interesting, maybe I will go look for myself. Look for myself. Look for myself. 🤔
It's crazy how people don't realise low death rates with Volvo have more to do with weight and the way it's driven. Correlation is not causation. A perf model 3 has far higher deaths than rwd. Think of the demographic that buys Volvo compared to a muscle car and its mythical reputation for low death evaporates.
@@GrandHuevotes either way Volvos are still one of the most safest cars in North America and Europe
@@GrandHuevotes Or the XC90.. go look for yourself.
Volvo delivers exactly what we'd expect yet again. Nice! 👍
Volvo have some of the best whiplash mitigating technologies and design features in the industry. Innovation that both front and rear passengers benefit from
I'm not excited that Volvo is slowly moving to an all-electric fleet, but I am so glad that Geely has allowed Volvo to continue doing what it does best.
I will be buying Volvos for the rest of my life, unless a competitor arises, which I very much doubt. Safety is my number one priority, I trust no one on the road, period.
The rear passenger was well secured by the seat belt, which I reckon was what this updated test for. Kudos Volvo from a proud XC60 MY17 owner!💪
I have a 2019 version of this suv. I'm so glad i own one 😊
Pretty good for a 7 year old design considering it's a brand new test
Volvo always leading the pack
No surprise that Volvo did absolutely perfect in this test.

You and your family want to be together a long time, do what I’ve done, buy a XC60.
My dream car.
Good job volvo!
Volvo with the pretensioner let’s go🔥 this is why Volvo is one of if not the best in the game with safety
Volvo has been using pretensioners in the back seat all the way back to 2003's XC90!
Swedish tank 🇸🇪 🙏🏽
“Good” is not enough…It is very good, it’s a Volvo!
Just so everyone knows, when they introduced the small overlap crash test, they crashed a 2013 XC90 that was designed even before that crash test was even a thought, and it passed. Goes to show, Volvo has BEEN designing these cars for safety and not just bc the test was “updated”
The differences here between this Volvo and the Genesis models is incredible. Everything stays contained and well-managed, even the seats don't pitch forward excessively as they do in other cars. The commitment to safety remains obvious, especially for the rear passengers who do not get considered in far too many crashes.
I like how when a Nissan scores good everyone is saying it’s not justified but when a Volvo scores it it’s “normal”
VOLVO ❤XC60 💪💪
Volvo god tier as always.
especially for 60 mph head ons
We should actually start doing 2 crash tests one vehicle....
I love you Volvo so much that why own one very safe cars in world
Crazy to see Mazda meet or exceed Volvo's ratings
Cant compare a mazda to a volvo who invented the seatbelt!
Volvo and Tesla usually scores the best
What was th g force on the passengers?
I mean why are people surprised! its a volvo!
Two turn tables and a microphone
The car has now disintegrated
No kidding.
BMW & Lincoln had superior intrusion numbers for the updated side tests than the XC60. 19cm from the centre line in the Xc60, 28cm from the centre line in the BMW. This is coming from someone who drives a Volvo and highly regards the company. They’re lacking😢
seems like some cheaper Volvo's are rebranded from geely. That might be why.
@@xuepingsong5329 Not necessarily….
@@josephv4794 yea I don't know much about this, just internet rumours lol
I'm no expert but I assume your neck helps reduce injury in the brain?
Unfortunately you can’t have best of both worlds you either can have reliability (Lexus) or safety (Volvo)
Aren't Volvos like one of the top 3 most reliable cars in the world tho? The car with the most mileage ever is a 50s Volvo and it's doing pretty fine afaik
Volvo is great, but when Sweden becames a third world country, in a decade or so, Volvo will go down.
I'm in Sweden and I'm still doing great.
