    Hi Max,
It's Gergely here from Hungary again.
I would like to ask one question about the KJS system.
Did you manipulate anything onside the carb?
Unfortunately I can't set this used KJS system what I bought and it would be good to know what to try I should.
At KJS the guys werent to helpful :(

      Hi Gergely,
No i leave it original. Just this evening I clean it up and tomorrow I mount it back on the bike. And I'm shure it will run as ever from the first day on. If it is an used one, maybe a cleanup or a seal control will help you foreward.
Take a look too at the Idle screw, there is a small washer that can be oxydet and a O- Ring.
Normaly the idle screw will be 2 turns out from the seat. That works.
Hope that will help, if not feel free to contact me. You are welcome.
      Greetz Max

      If it's not a big a favour.
Before mounting it back, could you pls. tke and send me some photoes about the setting?
      I would really appreciate it.
What would be good to have:
If you would be so king and take the top cover off and turn the throttle shaft - than the needle cimes up and it's position will be visible. About it would be good to have a pic.
Secon favour if you put off the float chamber cover down the size of the main and idle jet would be visible - that would be good to know to.
Amd the third a picture about the accelerator pump's setting at outside, rod position etc.
I would really appreciate your help.
At KJS they guys only answered the following text: it should work.
The air screw and the o ring it totally new, the bike also reacts when I reposition it.
The best setting was yesterday 4.5 turn out. But the rear cilynder stil gets to much gas. And the consumption was 10l/100km.
Float level is ok no overflow, no smoke at idle even during ride.

    Hi Max,
may I ask some questions about the Single Carb conversion. I have a V-Star 1100 Dragstar and a K.J.S. Manifold witha Mikuni TM40-6 Carb.
The system work, we can say, properly, but I have a little problem with the blow valve.
May I ask what type du you have?
    Mine is N149.040
The Fuel Pump factory type is: 786-46001

Hi Gergely, You are welcome. Wich Problem is it? I think You mean the Swimmer Valve inside the Carb, right? If yes, I know that there are two kinds of Valves. One for a Bike with electric Fuel Pump and one for the Bike without. I have a electric Fuel Pump, so I mean we should have the same Valve in Carb. But anyway, what is the Problem exactly?

@@CustomMax1 Hi Max, thank you for the answer. If the bike will run properly, I'll be Ok :D
And yes I have the same situation.
      V-Star 1100 has fuel pump.
On the web, I found that for pump type bikes 786-46001 2.0 is recommended.
But I got proposal from guy who runs his Virago with N149 needle.
So I tried that one but can't adjust it correctly.
      What is you opinion?

    • @CustomMax1
      @CustomMax1  Před 2 lety

@@gergelykiss8558 Hm, when You cant adjust it correctly I think it is the best option to put the right needle into the Carb, as Ken from KJS recommand.
You can contact Ken via his Website. In case You need some new maybe You can buy it here: www.mikuni-topham.de/ Topham is the best Specialist for that Mikunis. And not so expensiv too. This is what I found on Topham´s Site :www.mikuni-topham.de/ENGLISHSITE/ENGLISH/Frame_English.html Look for:
TM40-6 but there are only Standard settings...... maybe the best is contact Ken from KJS.
I have buy my Kit directly at KJS, so I did not look inside wich Needle is in it, because it runs from the first Moment perfect.
Let me know when I understand You wrong, because I´m not a native english speaker......
