Hi Max, It's Gergely here from Hungary again. I would like to ask one question about the KJS system. Did you manipulate anything onside the carb? Unfortunately I can't set this used KJS system what I bought and it would be good to know what to try I should. At KJS the guys werent to helpful :(
Hi Gergely, No i leave it original. Just this evening I clean it up and tomorrow I mount it back on the bike. And I'm shure it will run as ever from the first day on. If it is an used one, maybe a cleanup or a seal control will help you foreward. Take a look too at the Idle screw, there is a small washer that can be oxydet and a O- Ring. Normaly the idle screw will be 2 turns out from the seat. That works. Hope that will help, if not feel free to contact me. You are welcome. Greetz Max
@@CustomMax1 If it's not a big a favour. Before mounting it back, could you pls. tke and send me some photoes about the setting? I would really appreciate it. What would be good to have: If you would be so king and take the top cover off and turn the throttle shaft - than the needle cimes up and it's position will be visible. About it would be good to have a pic. Secon favour if you put off the float chamber cover down the size of the main and idle jet would be visible - that would be good to know to. Amd the third a picture about the accelerator pump's setting at outside, rod position etc. I would really appreciate your help. At KJS they guys only answered the following text: it should work. The air screw and the o ring it totally new, the bike also reacts when I reposition it. The best setting was yesterday 4.5 turn out. But the rear cilynder stil gets to much gas. And the consumption was 10l/100km. Float level is ok no overflow, no smoke at idle even during ride.
@@gergelykiss8558 I take some pic's, need a Email Adress. Have a great day Max
Hi Max, may I ask some questions about the Single Carb conversion. I have a V-Star 1100 Dragstar and a K.J.S. Manifold witha Mikuni TM40-6 Carb. The system work, we can say, properly, but I have a little problem with the blow valve. May I ask what type du you have? Mine is N149.040 The Fuel Pump factory type is: 786-46001
Hi Gergely, You are welcome. Wich Problem is it? I think You mean the Swimmer Valve inside the Carb, right? If yes, I know that there are two kinds of Valves. One for a Bike with electric Fuel Pump and one for the Bike without. I have a electric Fuel Pump, so I mean we should have the same Valve in Carb. But anyway, what is the Problem exactly?
@@CustomMax1 Hi Max, thank you for the answer. If the bike will run properly, I'll be Ok :D And yes I have the same situation. V-Star 1100 has fuel pump. On the web, I found that for pump type bikes 786-46001 2.0 is recommended. But I got proposal from guy who runs his Virago with N149 needle. So I tried that one but can't adjust it correctly. What is you opinion?
@@gergelykiss8558 Hm, when You cant adjust it correctly I think it is the best option to put the right needle into the Carb, as Ken from KJS recommand. You can contact Ken via his Website. In case You need some new maybe You can buy it here: www.mikuni-topham.de/ Topham is the best Specialist for that Mikunis. And not so expensiv too. This is what I found on Topham´s Site :www.mikuni-topham.de/ENGLISHSITE/ENGLISH/Frame_English.html Look for: TM40-6 but there are only Standard settings...... maybe the best is contact Ken from KJS. I have buy my Kit directly at KJS, so I did not look inside wich Needle is in it, because it runs from the first Moment perfect. Let me know when I understand You wrong, because I´m not a native english speaker......
@@CustomMax1 Absolutely understood everything
@@CustomMax1 Hi Max, I got in touch with KJS, they werent really helpful, by giving answers. May we conversate by mail, I would like to ask two favours, if it's not a problem for you :₩
That’s very nice 👍

Right on you gotta be proud of that
Sounds great but doesnt look as good as the original.
Jepp I dont like this Air filter too... but its an old Video, take a look at the newer if you like. It is now an open K&N.
What did you do for the boost sensor
Hi you mean the thing between the ignition coils? I open the trashcan put it into the trashcan. I don't miss it. If you have questions, you are welcome👍
@t has a tm40-6 that you uses your stock cables and has a tps system on it and comes with a configered carb for your bike from 400cc 500cc 535cc 650cc vstar and 700cc 750cc 920cc 1000cc and 1100 cc viragos and vstars your bike sounds great and i enjoyed your video
Sehr geil.
Viel Spass beim Schrauben. Gruß Max

Preciso de um desse.
I warmly welcome. I have a question about the carer and connection to the cylinders. Is this Mikuni TM40-6 maintainer enough to mount it and be okay, and do you have to change or set something? I do not know English this message, which I wrote by a Google translator. I am asking for a description and possible hints. I am from Poland for now, I do not have funds for a carer, but I am looking for help in installing such a guardian in my XV 1000. Thank you in advance for your help. One more thing; What is the cost of purchasing a single KJS and Mikuni TM40-6 coal distributor?
Hi Off Road, here is a Link for You from KJS: kjsmotorcycleworks.com/ Here you can get all information you need. I recommend the KJS Set highly. Because after mount it you have a new bike from the feeling with it. You dont change anything, only strip your carburators and the flange down. After that you mount the KJS kit, it´s very easy. I hope I can help you with this Bro. Greets Max
sounds just like a harley!
Yes, I am happy with it. In a Small Range of RPM it Sounds a Bit like a Harley. But lets say it clear: Harley is absolute Sound-King in that V2 Area. I Love that potatopotato.
Beautiful sound but i don't think so "just like a harley" :x
I sounds really good
Really nice bike, I have a bone stock XV1100. Seriously considering going to a sing carb system. What I noticed on the vid was that your rear tyre looks pretty fat. What size is it if you don't' mind me asking?
Jepp it look´s Fat but it comes only from turning the video. My pal has helt the handy cam wrong. It´s only a 140er :-)
Lol, oh
I have heard alot about the kjs system. I thought he was in canada but the email says to send to florida wheres hes at for the sommer. Did you have to do a wire transfer with him?
+Charles Sullivan Hi Charles, I just follow the advise for ordering on his homepage. All things are going well with him. I would do it anytime again. After Mounting it the bike feeling was like a complete new.
whered you get that seat?
Hi, this is the original seat, with less upholstery. U find that guy in EBay.
I bought the same one last summer, was curious if it was from you or we found the same one...I really like the look of it plus being a short guy it really helps with flat footing ...
That eBay guy is named trullibulli
yeah that sounds familiar...
aha. nice bike! :-D
THX HaiPing :-)
Sweet!!
Thanx Larry
Hi JC im just 2cm taller than You. It´s OK to drive with them for me..... But You should have a advanced Forewardcontroll. This is better than stock for You Have fun and tell me if Yo buy it :-)
How tall are you max? I'm looking at buying an 85 just like that but it sits stock. I'm 6'2'' so I'm trying to get a comparison. Justin from the states.
Hi Naraa, sorry, but i take it as it is from KJS ready jettet, bolt on and run. So I didn´t take a look at it. Maybe You got the info from KJS direkt. ride safe Max
could you send me the jetting specs please, I have the same bike with similar exhaust. Doing a single carb setup
Can you help m with the Mikuni tm40 carb jetting? I have an XV1100 also. Thanks.
Hi did you ever get the best jetting for the mikuni carb thanks
Thx madazit Handle bars from custom-chrome-europe Foreward controls from highwayhawk drive save Max
You got mail. drive save. Max
Great bike. I'm having trouble with my Mikuni VM38. I'm going to change to using the TM40-6 like your bike. Just wondering if you could share the jetting specifications?
Thx Charger, it´s just a Silvertail K02, with a small change into the pipes.... Just the wool is out :-) The most new sound is what the intake makes. As I wrote.... like a new ride. Have fun.
Your bike sounds fantastic!
@CustomMax1 A million thanks, Max. If it works well on your Virago 1000, it should do likewise on my VStar 1100. Those machines share nearly the same intake design. I'm also thinking of installing the 429 "Boss" camshafts from SSCustoms, along with a two-into-one system (from Pacific Coast Star). I'm just tired of dual carbs which go out of synch and provide lackluster performance. I also believe the cams and two-into-one exhaust will make up for any lost top-end power. Best -- Walt
@mickeymousebiker1 Hi Walt, The unequal length and the unequal diameter of the manifold are precise designd for good filled up cylinders. The installation is easyer then the originals. I have had no difficults with it. Also Ken from KJS is always at Your side if You have questions with it. I can only say: It´s a completly new ride after install the kit. And i would do it again anytime.
I've heard the KJS single-carb manifold doesn't flow well at higher RPMs (due to the unequal length of the intake runners). Also, I've heard that there have been hassles with installation. I thought about using a KJS single-carb manifold on my V-Star 1100. Many thanks for any information. Ride safe -- Walt in the States
I've heard that the KJS manifold doesn't flow well at higher RPMs (due to the unequal length of the intake runners). I've also heard reports of installation hassles. I own a V-Star 1100, and I'd like to convert to a single-carb system. Many thanks. -- W
Hi Chuckles thx for commenting. Yes there is a bit less in upper RPM. But not really to notiz. But there is a lot earlier torque in lower RPM. And it feels like more newtons than before! It´s running great up to 170> but i dont drive so fast with it. It´s not made for race :-)
@JasonWW2000 Thanks Jason!
Very nice.
