HBO needs to give Insecure 25 episodes next season. They just came back now it's already over.
Most HBO series are 10 episodes. GOT last season had 7 episodes, I wonder why Insecure is only Eight episodes? 🤔🤔

That look on his face said so much. It's just like when you consider the good times and the comfort of being with someone for so long and then it ends badly and for awhile you get to have that breathing time and get a new life...BAM! They're back and you're thinking maybe it'll work this time.....only to be reminded in the smallest gesture or words that this person's negatives were the reasons for the separation. I hope she and Lawrence do not end up back together. Horrible.
His energy shifted, because he thought it was him that inspired her to keep going, her response about it being different hit his subliminal. However unbeknownst to him he re inspired her to get back at it.
In the real world: That's your ex. No kids. No reason to talk. Property or a business, sell it, move on. You'd be a fool to be comfortable with someone your dating having a "friendship" with someone they had been intimate with. Umm no. For TV world they gotta keep this story going, which by the way things look, they'll get back together once Lawrence accepts his fault. It's not so much the cheating and pride but how he had to find out about it. Me personally wouldn't be interested in a relationship but the way they complete each other's sentences they are gonna get back together or they need to stop them from talking because it's mixed signals and unfair to the new people in their life. Stay together or move on complety. There is a double standard with cheating, perhaps this is the underlying message because if it had been Lawrence who cheated Issa would be expected to take him back

I would have felt better about Molly’s decision had she said you know what Nathan not today. It’s her birthday, Try her tomorrow or next week but not today! But when Molly sent him away she made it final and Issa needed closure...hell we all did. 😂

I’m not excusing Nathan ghosting but I felt his pain when he was trying to find the words to describe why...I’ve been there...text messages/phone ringing and when you are truly depressed you can’t even respond. Though I’d hope you’d at least trust your partner with that. But because it was a new relationship maybe he was too scared to jeopardize it...though in the end that’s exactly what he did. 😭

Erica Y Yes!! I’m realizing how impatient and unrealistic a lot of commenters are in this whole common section in regards to Nathan and his depression (or mental illness).
It’s clear people see mental health as taboo, especially in the black community.
People expect a perfect relationship when it’s unfulfilling because it doesn’t exist. I just hope the focus dives deeper into that narrative more next season. Hopefully it can educate more people because ignorance is not bliss.

I am really upset with the fact that this season was only 8 episodes. I feel like yall came and went... I was happy that Lawrence was in season 3 though!! i think it would have been silly not to follow up his story considering we followed both of them from the very beginning in season 1 However I didnt really feel the substance with the different storylines this season compared to previous seasons and the lack of episodes mad me sad! :(
I need to see more Kelly, Tiffany and Chad and definitely more episodes. Y'all can't have all these funny people in the show and not showcase them more often. I know yall was pressed for time and HBO need to come up off that.

I agree with Molly...There’s no need for Nathan to explain why he went ghost...The fact is he went ghost and he needs to stay ghost. His apology was lackluster and showed that he’s confused and isn’t quite sure what he wants. The only definitive thing he said is that he knows he’s here to stay in LA. Let him figure his stuff out then when he’s ready and if Issa’s available and open to pursue a relationship with him, they can do so then.
Sir Penny, thank you for filming this show in such a way that highlights and brings integrity to the vast shades of brown. The tender thought put into the lighting and capturing it on film makes it feel real. Typically the hues of black have gotten lost and neglected in cinematography. Thank you for reviving the life of full color on film.

Imma start with this. This is a really amazing show and I feel like y'all tell MY own personal stories and of my friends. Y'all just keep it 💯and it's amazing to see black people in a different lenses telling stories of their 'normal'. I rate y'all no joke.( Issa is my best friend in my head). However this season finale felt underwhelming. I straight up felt like episode 8 was a mid episode on a 24 episode timeline. I have many questions but not in a jaw drop snatched my wig type of way that leaves me wanting more. I reallyyyyy felt like the stories especially in the finale were all over the place. What happened to Daniel? And why was his story explored in the beginning over many episodes if he wasn't even going to show up in one way or the other? Was the girl now dating Lawrence supposed to be a surprise? In my opinion seemed predictable. Lawrence and Issa convos straight up make my heart melt to see how much they've grown and still love each other . I'm not necessarily saying they SHOULD be together again. However... Was a convo needed at the movies that was deeper suggesting Lawrence was trying to shoot his shot again after the convo with Chad and his dad? Maybe? All I'm saying there needs to be more episodes. This season just came in for a sec played on your heartstrings, and BAM it's done with no cliffhanger. 🤷🏽
All that aside I appreciate seeing the growth and self discovery of the characters especially with Issa, Molly and Lawrence.
Um.... I guess I'm the only one not bothered by Molly sending dude packing. I would've done the same thing and would expect a friend to do the same. You were gone for a whole month, it forced me to have to get over you and then you come back? No! You left on a good note, so it's not like they had an argument. he just dropped everything and left, having her look all crazy. If I had to pick up the pieces of my friend's crazy, I would not let you come back and turn her out again.

I knew it was gonna backfire on Molly when she sent Nate away. While she had good intentions where she was coming from, it wasn’t her place to send him away. No one wants their friend to be her but all he did was leave Issa alone - wasn’t abusive, wasn’t cheating, etc.

I mean she went through Lawrence's depression moment. I'd like to see her and Nathan develop, but at the same time I felt like Daniel was the better fit for her. He was rude as hell and a glory-hog and now we’re supposed to see Molly as the bad guy because he went belly-up at the first sign of a workplace rival? Otherwise Molly consistently kills it at her job. It’s her reading people wrong that’s her problem.

This season was wack. It started out slow and then ended on a boring note. Seasons 1 & 2 had you hooked. Their finales had us yelling at the tv.
They'll have to increase their budget. In order to get more episodes. In a sense it's so good being concise and "short" if the season is too long it would expose fault and weaken the show. It's not that you want more episodes each season you just want the rest of the story 😉
Think power, it's 10 episodes. Perhaps a longer run time? If their budget supports it. Remember they gotta eat in the real world, can't go blowing the budget. Depending on how long it takes to film a season, maybe do two a year but again it comes down to revenue. I'll gladly pay $15 -$25 for a season but not $14.99 every 30 days to HBO. I don't watch TV like that

Over all it was a good season. First half started slow, second half was a little more substantial. In all, like seriously, 8 episodes is ridiculous, there is soooo much more of these character’s stories that can be/should be explored. The seasons should be 14 episodes at least 45 minutes.

To me...Nathan came off as mentally unstable when explaining why he ghosted. So he's either covering up a lie with more lies or he's in no position to be dating or sexing because he's mentally unstable. I own care how cute he is (and Nathan is Fione)...Nope and Nope!!!!! If a man suffers with depression it is not her job to fix it or show him sympathy. If this is how he is in the beginning imagine giving him six months of your life?
I do not like Molly...not even on Molly. She claims she want people to "do better" / "be better" but she can't even follow her own advise.
Think about this. She never told her therapist about Dro, they never came back to this. And, when Andrew, spoke the truth to her, she ran away. Molly is bitter, tries to manage her life narrative to appear "together" to others and she wants Issa to join her in this misery! Molly "says" she is a friend, but doesn't act like one.
