There has been a lot of questionable/rough takes on the shooting star situation recently, so it feels good to have bigger creators spreading (in my opinion) a logical and correct point of view on the decision Jagex made.

In my opinion the core of this situation seems like some people are really just upset as they see this as a game integrity issue, and they worry about the game becoming 'easy scape'. We've passed that point well over 5 years ago. Get over it.
How about instead being upset with one another over the ability to afk low xp/hr methods, they redirect their anger and get upset with Jagex for allowing this disgusting amount of level 3 spam bots and mid-high level bots in game in every world? Currently Ferox Enclave is just a hub for bots to constantly flood into and regenerate stats/bank. Green dragon bots, air orb bots, vorkath bots, zulrah bots, corp bots, runecrafting bots, red spider egg bots, rev bots, wyvern bots, etc. It's so much more of a game breaking issue that needs to be addressed. I have never seen this game packed with bots so much it's pathetic that nothing significant has been done. Meanwhile people are ranting over actual players afking for 20k xp/hr...?

Every time I watch one of the King's vids, I always listen to the outro. That song slaps hard for no reason.
You can literally get 50k defence and 11k hp Xp per our for a full 6 hours with one click but 3 clicks an hour for 25k xp and people lose their minds
While maxing I hated mining so much tried all methods and ended up staying in mlm to 99, and now doing it on the gim and alt I hate it even more. I want or would love to see a redwood equivalent for mining. As xp does need to be better now that as mentioned that the player base have jobs and families and irl commitments.

2023 has been ridiculous lmao, never really thought about it.
I used to splash ardy knight and the largest crowd I got was around 40 players, it was fun to see how many people would stack up in 1 spot. I'd "use" an item and right click on the stack of players and it would span across from top to bottom of the screen, full of different players, 1 name per line. so seeing that "Null" was kinda neat for me to see, that's a LOT of players.

Almost every OSRS player is an adult, we brought this game back when we were teens/in college and still play this game to this day, it should never be shut down cause now we can literally throw money at jagex to keep the servers up

i think what most people dislike about the update is randomly having their worlds bombed by 1500 miners out of nowhere while doing high level bossing or similar getting absolutely lagged to shit, and they try to pass it off as "this is really bad for game integrity guys"

I love active skilling methods but am aware ppl need afk methods too and that's fine if the xp works out. I hate tick manipulation though, like, blast mine is fun, 3 tick granite is not.
Im just thinking about Sand Crabs. 1 agro reset every 20 minutes and you can train 4 different skills using control with even better exp rates.

Shooting star cc's and/or the DIscord should definitely be on the "OSRS Drama Calendar" for September. Alot of people are scared to even log in to their HCIM's because if a shooting star happens to land in the world you're playing on, over 1,000 people immediately hop to your world and make the game unresponsive for ~10 seconds, which is plenty of time to red bar you at alot of places in the game.
It's admittedly an aids solutions but they could just check the telescope and see how long until next star drop.
You havent read the blogs have you, they have said they are working on making shooting star worlds and also making stars spawn across many worlds. This will help decrease hoppin which is a problem as you mentionned.

Every few days something pops up that reminds me that people care about shooting stars for some reason. I try to pay attention, fail to see what the issue is and then forget all about it before repeating the process after the next few days.
I would love the option to grind out my acc as i please and then at the end start this idling method for a skill and leave my pc. Itd really only make players more excited to sign back in
for someone who spent so long at mlm to get 99 mining i can tell you we need more mining updates because it was slow af and boring as hell at least bring it up to the 100k+ a hour somewhere like zalc or rework volcanic mining etc but yeah an afk method is fine
the star mining update is like a mix of forestry and duke mining elements combined. OSRS wants more socially appealing methods and make their grinds less crappy

I know thisnis old. But still holds weight. I hate skilling but love pvping and questing. Your skills have to be trained over 70 to finish the quest cape, there should be an alternate method for quests or skilling should be more afkable
They should make elite desert diary give a buff that makes 3t granite easier, like toggle an auto-drop or something. Who cares if it devalues muh competitive mining, 3t4g is just a race to see who can develop carpal tunnel the fastest, and for the health of our wrists it should probably be looked at. Better yet just introduce something else, every other skill has had new meta methods released for it by now.

I spent about six months at work mining stars on pvp worlds so they actually lasted for more than 5 minutes. I got 92 crafting from the gems, so that was rad. But again, six months of 10 hour mining days. People saying it's too OP are fucked in thebhead

The only mining skilling i've done after getting 69 to boost to 72 for making friends with my arm is at Zalcano and the xp rate is terrible lol otherwise I'd never touch the skill its beyond slow and they're acting like shooting stars is bad when motherload mine is pretty much afk too and around the same xp but they're fine with motherload mine lol L takes
People who have their identity tied to their rs achievements complain when new things come out to make those achievements easier to achieve.

there is a dif in between clicking every 20min and doing 3tic, called "normal" playing the game for example doing Zalcano, Dynamite @@as3609 So AFK 20k/hr, Tryhard 3 tic 120k, and regular playing nets u like 30-40k thats just off. Should be 60-90k
