From toulouse : in my opinion, the issue is that Leinster has one game plan, and they are incapable to adapt their plan during the game.
The Doris penalty was utterly moronic, cost them the game.
Healy's wasnt much better either, you could see what was about to happen from that ruck like it was in slow mo.
All they had to do was play percentage rugby, use the extra man, build-up the pressure.
But they bottled it with idiotic penalties, just like Ireland in the WC.

100% agree. Once VDF scores, the game is Leinster’s to lose. Arnold on a red card. Brennan HIA. Marchand injured. Meafou HIA. The back line is a total mess. Reserve 9 on the wing. Kinghorn at 13. Chocobares packing down at 8. It’s just unbelievable that Toulouse score 6 points during that time. And we score nothing. Zip.
Serious lack of leadership on and off the pitch. The refusal to take the points from penalties was madness.
@@manupez3203 This isn't being said enough. Despite everything that happened before, at that moment - second half of extra time - Leinster had the win well and truly within grasp and completely threw it away - a will to lose!

Sorry to say, but I think they need a world class fly half. Have no worries missing kicks in key games and able to make a difference. The team has improved over the last few years, but this is a problem area.

I agree with the idiotic penalties… but Why? Why would that happen? These are very good players … good coaches ? Strange ?
We all have short memories.. they took penalties in the first La Rochelle final and were vilified afterwards for not going for the corner .. and now this year pundits /fans are questioning this … in my opinion the issue wasn’t the decision not to go for goal, it was the execution from the subsequent lines outs .. and a big part (not only) of that was Sheehan’s throwing.. to be the best hooker in the world (which arguably he is), he needs to work on his throw accuracy.. bottom line Leinster were just not clinical enough in the red 22 ..

There is no world class 10 in Ireland since JS left. All are in his shadow. It’s a problem finding someone with the dedication and natural talent to spot opportunities. RB didn’t lose the game. Surely the captain makes the calls! Most decisions to go for max points were correct. Surprise hooker never broke from mauls or the odd quick tap not taken.
What chances? Not that many. Ball was slow & Ref allowed T disrupt & didn’t penalise not rolling away.
JS held the 10 position for too long possibly 4 years too long - not his fault though that Leinster persisted with RB who is a poor outhalf. If you put a ball in front of a horse he'll kick it.
Leinster rugby and Irish rugby need to get better at ruck time

‘The baggage has to mount’ .. coming from arguably Irelands best player, I am really surprised by this mindset .. the baggage will only mount if the Leinster players buy into that, and I am 100% convinced they won’t .. and when they do win their next European (& I do believe it’s on the way) it will be all the sweeter after what they have gone through.. what doesn’t break you makes you stronger .. and this Leinster group are already a strong group and they are far from broken .. roll on May’25 🏉
Leinster are the New France by loosing 3 finals just like France has done in the rugby World Cup. It’s the psychological damage to their confidence that worries me.
