    Redesigning the Spotify Logo was a great idea for a logo design video submitted over at www.rebrandeverything.com What do you think of these logos? I tackle the challenge of creating some new options and have made a poll so you can vote for your favourite logo option.
    This project is an 'unsolicited rebrand' so all just for some CZcams fun - not affiliated with the company at all 🙃

    i actually love option 5’s dated look; doesn’t matter how old or new the music is- it’s still always good. plus it’s intentionally dated look distinguishes it from other music brands and gives off the type of quirky feel I could see coming from Spotify.
    all in all, great job dude :)

    I haven't thought that much about the spotify logo, i've never been disturbed about the waves, I don't think they're wonky or irritating. I actually do see what you mean. I just don't agree 😂🙈

    • @RebrandEverything
      @RebrandEverything  Před 4 lety +5

      That's fair enough! I always like things to be done definitely or not at all, keeps everything looking perfect and clean. But sometimes I think that holds me back as a designer, bit then I just call that 'my style' and everyone's happy haha 😂😂

  • @hamzamazin2217
    @hamzamazin2217 Před 4 lety +2

    I like that you always have an option where you slightly modify the original logo, and it's always a strong contender. Number 5 is my favorite out of the new concepts.

    • @RebrandEverything

      Yep it kind of covers all bases! Evolution then re-volution 😉😉

  • @vanrose9857
    @vanrose9857 Před 4 lety +3

    2, 3, and 5 are rockin’! I ultimately chose 3 as my favorite because the use of headphone icons to create the “S” was very well done.

  • @shashe23
    @shashe23 Před 4 lety +10

    I think the crookedness makes it look better. Having it straight just looks strange. It's like how the 7-11 logo has a lowercase "n" at the end of the word, gives me the same feeling

    Brian Collins is a genius, everything he touches is pure gold. I wouldnt change a bit.

  • @flowersafeheart

    Spotify has really upped my music and podcast discovery game! Love 'em! I love that you made the green more warm and friendly and played with creative ideas such as people sharing music. Good point that if done wrong it could look like wifi.
    #1 is "Eh, fine enough, but why not be more quirky and inviting for such a deeply creative brand?" I like #4 and #5 best cause the symbols quickly remind me of music and are pretty inviting with some uniqueness. Though font #4 I'd prefer to be even more soft and casual but that's also my personal taste coming through (and to me music discovery and listening is quite a friendly, soft, warm, comforting, exciting, emotional thing).
    #5 is friendly and musical but the font though friendly does remind me of a typewriter so I'd change it.
    #3 reminds me of electrical fuses or wiring so I prefer it for say an electrician or car mechanic.
    I like the togetherness meaning of #2 and friendlier, yellowier green. But if I hadn't heard your explanation I wouldn't have necesarily have looked at it and thought of people relating and sharing, just interesting dots or spots or abstract. I prefer the more obvious music reference of #1, #4, and #5. Green is more relaxing and friendly and emotional (heart chakra color) than green and black.
    So my favorites are either #4 (with the warmer green and maybe even softer, friendlier font, and maybe the symbol tweaked to look even less like wifi). Or #5 but all the warmer green (no black) and a warm, friendly, comforting, exciting font that doesn't look like a typewriter.
    Another option is to change the color. For example, yellow is the most creative color. Turquoise is the throat chakra color of communication and appeals the most to the most people as if to say there's music and podcasts available here for all tastes. Music can express so many styles, genres, and emotions so is tough to pick a color that describes it or that describes podcasts. But to me black isn't a top choice cause it feels pretty neutral. I'd go with turquoise probably.

    • @RebrandEverything
      @RebrandEverything  Před 3 lety +1

      I guess Spotify like to stay kind of neutral as different music means different things to different people so they probably see it as a broadly high contrast design, with green having the positive connotations of growth and nature with the deep black there for stability and power. Depends how you look at it I guess 😋

    • @flowersafeheart
      @flowersafeheart Před 3 lety

      @@RebrandEverything That makes sense too! Great points. The most neutral (and quietly supportive of anything else) color is I think gray...

    Another great video!! In my opinion number 1 looks nice because it is familiar without throwing out the old idea. 4 is also bold and new and could definitely work. But my god! Option 3 with the headphones is genius!!! I would have never thought of that idea and something about that font makes it work. Oh, and as a side note, changing the color in option 2 makes it look more like someone puked on it 😬

    @anacsilva7812 Před 4 lety +2

    Wow! This was really difficult, i think the Spotify's actual logo is very good (i didn't notice anything wrong lol 😋) but you have created good altenatives. I like Option 3 and 4... I ended up voting 3 because it's a different concept: the symbol is brilliant and it's a new approach of the work you have been developing. Option 4 is also pretty good, i like the font and the editing that you've made, plus keeping the 'sound waves' concept 🙂

    • @RebrandEverything
      @RebrandEverything  Před 4 lety +2

      Cheers Ana! Glad you like the options I don't normally like icons within text but i think option 4 is still readable and keeps the recognition of the current logo

  • @co11mando
    @co11mando Před 4 lety +1

    Option three is perfect bro, i love the icon, you make an icon that looks like S using Headphones icon and at the last you have won a icon that looks that two people, as you say before looks they are sharing some music. Love it, nice work.

  • @SpiritOfTheWest49
    @SpiritOfTheWest49 Před 3 lety

    Nicely done. The Spotify logo has always bugged me. 1 is a great fix on the existing. 5 is fave, followed by 3. 4 has stranger things/80s rock vibe to it

  • @motzPHaragas
    @motzPHaragas Před 4 lety +1

    Option 3 for me. The headphone formation speaks for itself.
    Option 2 is more of an electronics branding and 5 would happen if Google Play competes with Spotify (if with their colors).

  • @turbotaquitogoogle8095

    Going with #1 but I really do love #3. I personally preferred #3 when it was inside the circle since without it, it looks a bit thin and bland. All of these options are great tho! Amazing work this week

  • @DeathTT87

    Nice ideas!
    Here is what I think about all your options (I'm not a pro at all btw)
    1 : It's strange, maybe it's me but to me it look like the waves are a bit tilted to the left (optical illusion or the current logo is printed on my mind as a ref ? dunno)
    2 : the logo sounds more like an electronic or numeric brand than an audio one. (the typo is really nice)
    3 : it looks a bit strange to me, but I dont know why, maybe if it was the same font than option 2 it would look awesome
    4 : I like this one quite a lot, it is bold and a bit edgy, with plenty of brand design possibilities around it
    5 : looks like a google brand, using another shape than a triangle could lead to an awesome logo I think.
    Anyway, these are critics but all of them are well done !

    I don't mean to be an asshole, but I feel like every logo you made except the first one which basically just fixes the wonky problem, looks a bit tacky and doesn't fit the brand at all. This tends to be a problem with all the redesigns I've seen from you so far. The one that fixes an issue with the original logo looks good and all the other ones just miss the mark completely, when it comes to how the brand wants to present itself.
