I loved this series I feel like it gives a different and refreshing perspective of the king and queen on their young and intimate lives in Versailles at a young and immature stage in their marriage ! I can’t imagine what life was like for them with no privacy and no one to confide in 😔 the actors did an amazing job portraying king Louis xvi and Marie Antoinette, I’m excited for season 2 !

I loved it. Sometimes we hear only the superficial historical facts, and forget that there were real, flesh and blood people that lived this. The series made me feel the very real trauma of a 14 year old girl leaving her mother forever to marry a total stranger in order to form a political alliance. The reality of being a prince or princess is very different from its portrayal in fairy tales. What a relief not to be royal! Emilia Schule and Louis Cunningham were fabulous in their portrayal of these tragic figures. I look forward to season two.

Well at first viewing, i could tell this was going to be very "French"...complex..facinating. Louis Cunningham is priceless portraying a teenager's shyness and insecurities...hes a terrific new actor...can not wait for season 2.....

They probably thought they would only get 1 season so it got rushed and open ended.

I wonder if they will flashback some things in season 2 then to fill in some story. There's not much after this anyways lol, the necklaces thing, 1 kid dies, revolution happens, they all get killed, Provence becomes king after Napoleon ... A series on Robespierre and Napoleon would be cool.

I love the series but............leave the sexual stuff out!!!! Those romping scenes are boring and so is child birth scenes.

There are enough documentaries about this stuff . Historically correct .
But don't forget - it's about real people with feelings, hopes, love and fears .
