Honestly, I think that “tag team partners have a match and the winner keeps the titles and gets to pick a new partner because they’re having a falling out“ is a pretty good idea that could’ve worked somewhere besides WCW.

A lot of people like to dunk on him and it is deserved now based on his bad takes on Busted Open, but if you go back and watch Nitro's and PPV's from that time you'll see Disco Inferno was actually very over with the crowd and always got strong reactions for his matches. He was a solid midcard hand throughout the late 90's til the end for WCW.

Hot take, but Booker I think should have won the WCW title in 98, to see if it would give the company a much needed shot in the arm. He was putting on banger matches and made the TV title feel more important then the WCW Title

It's a shame nobody at Cultaholic has been watching Reliving the War and they still spout off WWE's revisionist history when it comes to Goldberg. Outside of the DDP match, his run with the belt was booked horribly and he started to essentially be a part time wrestler, while Nash was arguably as over as Goldberg at the same time. The pop when Kevin Nash beats Goldberg should be the nail in the coffin on the argument that it was a bad call

Hogan v savage....hall v sting...Nash v giant...lex luger v Scott Steiner...Bret hart v curt hennig...and the best match on that card...the triple threat no dq match for us title ddp v raven v Benoit was to this day one of the best matches I have ever watched in my life...but wcw had a lot of great ppv cards that just didn't do what they shoulda did....

Cultaholic, Luchas de Apuestas (mask/hair wager matches) are a huge part of Lucha Libre tradition. Countless wrestlers have lost their masks or had their heads shaven as a result of them. Claiming that Eric Bischoff was somehow disrespecting tradition by putting on matches with gimmicks steeped in tradition makes no sense whatsoever. Eric himself has even had his head shaved on multiple occasions!
If you really want an example of a promoter disrespecting Lucha traditions, see Vince McMahon forcing Rey Mysterio to start wearing masks again after he had lost it. In Lucha tradition, once you lose your mask you can never put it back on. Vince didn't care about that though, he just wanted to cash in on merch sales.
"“Prior to coming to WWE, I was in OVW training, which was a week prior to my debut and the office wanted to see the gear I wanted to use. When I showed it to them, I had no mask. They were like, ‘Where is the mask?’ ‘Well, I lost the mask.’ In Lucha Libre, if you lose the mask, you never put it back on. They were like, ‘No, Vince wants you to come back with the mask.’" - Óscar Gutiérrez Rubio (Rey)
