  • Our salvation requires both confession and repentance on our part. Though God loves us, He requires us to willingly turn away from our sin and toward Jesus. In this message, Franklin Graham shares that only when we are cleansed of our sin can we seek to be holy like our God.
    This teaching is from our guest speakers series at Calvary Church.

      The teaching that for salvation you need repentance is not correct the only thing you need is to believe that Jesus is the son of God incarnate who came to pay the penalty for sins and show us the great love of his father when we see Jesus terrible death on the cross and feel sorry for having crucified him with our sins that repentance is the result of having been saved by his grace believing by faith hat we are forgiven and saved this belief is our made justified the repentance makes us change our behavior and we become sanctified His life works are applied to us his righteousness covers us all is done by god Even our repentance is by inspiration of the holy spirit. We are saved because we believe and accept his gifts

    Will GOD forgive us if we sin willingly?

    • @CalvaryABQ
      @CalvaryABQ  Před 5 lety +7

      @Glady Markynti Syiemlieh, In the passage that Franklin Graham is teaching from, Luke 13:1-5, Jesus makes a point to clear this up, by clarifying that the sin that goes unforgiven, is the sin that is unrepentant.
      Peter warns of the outcome of willful sin in 2 Peter 2:20-22 where he says, “For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: “A dog returns to his own vomit,” and, “a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire.”” A better question might be, “If I’m willfully sinning, have I really turned from my sin?” The definition of the Greek word for repentance is, ‘to change your mind, to go a different direction.’ If someone is living in and practicing willful sin, have they repented? It would seem that they haven’t changed their minds about the sin and it’s implications; that they may want forgiveness but they aren’t willing to admit that God knows best. Sometimes looking at the what sin has caused is a good reminder of why we should turn from it. If we look upon the body of our Creator, ripped of His flesh, beaten, mocked and spat upon, naked and hanging from a tree. We getting a glaring reminder that God loves us THAT much. Should we not respond by passionately pursuing a right relationship with a God like that, over a relationship with our flesh? The good news is that Jesus is patient with us, continues to pursue us, and longs for us to change our mind and turn to Him. If it’s your willful sin you’re asking about, please take this opportunity to change your mind and turn to Jesus. If you need prayer or counseling someone is always available to speak with and pray with you. Thank you for reaching out and inquiring! God bless!

      I hope to help you out here. I'm not telling you to sin it up or sin more but Jesus paid for all sin willful or not. However if we choose to do any sin, it often will have consequences, and often pull you into deeper sin. But one fear a believer in Christ does not have is eternal judgement. In the book of John over 90 time the word believe, or a form of that word is used for salvation, way to heaven. At no time is salvation tied to turning away from sin or giving up a sin or having to repent of sin. In fact repent is not even in the book of John in the KJ version of the bible. But you need to not trust in anything you are doing, promising, giving up, but you simply put your trust in Christ for the free gift of salvation. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life and died on the cross for all of the sins of the world, and then three days later arose from the dead. Believe He did it for you and your salvation is secure. Why because Jesus is God and he took your sins away, and gave you the gift of eternal life. John 3 14- 18
      14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
      15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
      16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
      17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
      18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
      This is Jesus speaking these words in John. He is your savior, not another god or idol, or some thing that you have cleaned up no, you only trust in Him alone.
      Ephesians 2
      8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
      9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
      10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

    Franklin and Billy Graham sadly teach Lordship Salvation, which is you partly trusting in what you can do to get rid of your sins by turning from them and partly trusting the power of Jesus Christ to remove the punishment of your sins and give you righteousness. It is heresy. Please beware. You need only trust what Jesus did to be saved.
